   It is as if no one ever crossed the border illegally, and no drugs were ever smuggled in before Biden.

   Biden is neither smart enough or lucid enough to pin anything on. He’s just an old machine politician who is the world champion example of the Peter Principle. I can hear him in the limo: “This is just like television, only you can see much further.”.
   I think practically anyone knows this. You have to accept that ‘Biden’ really means the mafia who run the big machine. A fairly large group really. I’d say that even Trump was soundly defeated by them once in office. It’s similar to the way ‘Trump’ is used in a denigrating fashion to imply that traditional US culture and manners are evil.
   It’s all good. The end of empire is an exciting time, although this one didn’t last so long.

   Just so we’re on the same page, let’s assume this is accurate. Let’s also assume that you are interested in controlling immigration (which I doubt).

   If you smooth the curve, it doesn’t look like any administration has succeeded.
   Now, a good query is to think about underlying causes. It’s safe to say that Mexico and parts south are failed states. Pressure to leave is high. Once you get enough people from Country X, you get more as they are basically moving to a better place that is already filled with people similar to them. This all seems natural to me. Water pressure will find any leak.
   OTOH, what drives the need to invite the world? The tingly thought of all those burly young men of color? Something something Native Americans? Some concept of feeding a Social Security Ponzi scheme for another few years? The benefits of under-the-counter low wage labor, so long as they live in a different part of town?
   Even though borders are enforceable, especially if you quit spending so much money fighting to the last Ukrainian, I doubt it’ll happen. Too much well-meaning lawfare, too many powerful people who benefit from a borderless world…plus the occasional Libertarian. With a world full of failed states, high 3rd world populations and (sometimes) birth rates, and the internet showing the great life you can live in France/UK/USA/Canada, there’ll be likely hundreds of millions of people planning on grabbing a U-Haul. End result, as always, will be in-group preference and the occasional hot civil war. Good times, good times.

    lol. Dude, I don’t have any idea who the ‘Freedom Caucus’ is or what they think. Is that the anti-McCarthy group? Tempest in a teapot.
    Two thoughts on all this, since it is a perpetual issue.
    . Eventually you have a coup/civil war/country breakup. Choose yer poison.
    . It didn’t matter so much until the federal government metastasized. You simply had more crooked state governments, but even they were trivial in comparison to the modern version.
    Question. What is the use of expanding government if it is inherently unfair? Simply growing the beast gives something different than intended. The more local control is, down to the level of the individual, the more you can change things to suit yourself.

    The first is the bifurcation of news. You simply can’t find any mention of ‘Pete Hoekstra’ anywhere else besides your link. In days of yore, you might expect it to show up on page 4 or so of the NYT. Naturally, if you don’t read a ‘fringe’ hard-right-Nazi site, it never happened.
    It’s like the quotes from Chris Swecker (ex-FBI assistant director on the criminal side).

    It was great watching sausage being made in the House. George Santos sitting in the kiddie isle, Gaetz almost getting punched out by Mike Rogers, Large Marge Taylor Greene with Donald Trump on the line on her smartphone screen, it was all good.
    And the 6 angry “Present Voters” could possibly force some change for the good of the American people.
    I lost count of the number of times bills have been introduced to allow sufficient time for bills to be read before Congress has to vote on them. And they always fail. Maybe this time it will pass. No one can deny that this is a bi-partisan issue.
    I hope the Dems don’t get all pissy and continue stay uber partisan.
    Less, or zero, Omnibus bills would be high on my list things to change in Congress.

    She is currently facing charges of first-degree arson, second-degree arson and second-degree burglary. She is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday. ”
    NY Post – “Cameron David Storer, a trans woman also known as “Nicolette Fait,” was arrested following an investigation by the Portland Fire & Rescue Fire Investigations Unit. The 27-year-old is charged with two counts of first-degree arson, one count of second-degree arson, and two counts of second-degree burglary — all felonies.”
