WASHINGTON − The Supreme Court rejected for the second time an effort by President Donald Trump to avoid paying more than $5.6 million to writer E. Jean Carroll for sexually abusing and defaming her.
The court on Aug. 17 declined to reconsider Trump’s appeal of a 2023 jury verdict in a civil suit brought by Carroll.
Trump had to pay Carroll the $5 million judgment plus interest after the court first rejected his appeal on June 29.

Throwing away zoning rules for tall coastal buildings or leaky trailer rentals behind your house are Democratic notions. Cars that turn off automatically at a stop sign are by the usual suspects.

What a strange medium-sized war that is.
I think I’ve got some handle on the motives for both sides. It’s oddly well-matched and static. Fer sure we’re only getting a small amount of the information on the thing. The technology being used is changing matters rapidly (should there be another shekel spent on F-35s? Carrier battle groups?). The Ukrainians have been wildly successful at getting different US cohorts to be honorary citizens complete with flags (similar to Israel and anti-Israel folks).
My working assumption is that a lot of what you hear is BS, and 100% of the op-eds on the matter are BS.
To the extent that it’s all real, no doubt the comfy people in the EU are a bit worried. Places like Germany appear to have produced countries made up of foreign nationals and unpatriotic citizens and possessing ineffective militaries. I doubt that any of their governments would survive a genuine threat from whatever source.

During Trump’s administration the net reduction of govt jobs is somewhere north of 300K; hardly policies on the road to “kingship”. But none of that is covered on the lamestream.
