[As repeatedly predicted in these pages, you don’t seek win-win agreements with tyrants who only understand zero sum (win-lose) relationships. The proper tactic with bringing Iran’s mullahs to heel is to keep up a systematic sequence of destroying their infrastructure – transportation, communications, power grid, and finally energy – while the negotiations are ongoing. Therefore the longer they continue recalcitrant, the weaker they become and more vulnerable to a general uprising, which must remain our goal. There should be no hopeful reports of ‘agreements’ with the thugs, only accounts of their succumbing to verifying inspections. Any other approach just enables their delaying tactics to weaken our political resolve. gjr]

The Platner saga…..presented so even progressives can understand it…..

I imagine Plattner made a fair percentage of the soft handed academic intelligentsia more than a little lightheaded with unrequited lust.

Perfect modern politician.

Says any old thing to get the job. Supports the Free Shit Army, anti-billionaire. 100% disabled veteran who runs an oyster farm and a dive service and runs for office. Accused of rape by some magazine in the nick of time to ruin his candidacy. No proof or police record. Might have done it, who knows? Has (or had) 3rd SS Panzer tattoo.

Thing is, gynocratic Karens and opportunistic guys have always existed…well, at least the opportunistic guys. The main problem isn’t that Senators and Governors and Presidents are sleazy half-wits, but that it matters a heckuva lot more than it did pre-FDR (or pre-Lincoln maybe). Why anyone thinks that making government even more Leviathanish is a good idea is beyond me.
