Interesting that Judge Ellis went to the trouble of saying this sentencing had nothing to do with Russian collusion and slammed team special for trying to vilify the defendant.

Anweya went further to decry members of Congress supporting Omar while “knowing what is happening in Minnesota’s 5th district,” Ilhan Omar’s district.
“If you don’t know, I highly advise you to take a trip to Minnesota’s 5th district and you will see what’s happening,” Anweya suggested. “You won’t even think you’re in America.”

Chemotherapy eh –
“I wrote it because I felt the literature so far had been either ra-ra fanatically pro-Trump without a lot of analysis, or had been just Trump Derangement Syndrome stuff,” said Hanson. “I felt that people who had voted for him and expected that he would govern successfully were actually pretty astute, so I analyzed how he devised a geographical and political agenda different from pretty much 16 other gifted candidates, and then he beat somebody who would spend $2.5 billion to his $600 million, flip the electoral college, and then he would survive pretty much an orchestrated political effort to abort his campaign and then his presidency.”
Hanson added, “Contrary to the so-called Never Trumpers who said Trump would govern as a liberal, or the left that said he would be so chaotic that government would all but collapse, if you look at all of the rubrics that we assess presidents by — unemployment, GDP, oil and gas production, regulations, judicial appointments, foreign policy — he’s probably had the most successful two years … that we’ve seen in 25 or 30 years, maybe even longer.”
“Henry Kissinger said in an Atlantic interview, every once in awhile, a guy like Trump comes along and shakes everything up, and makes us reexamine whether all these institutions — I guess he was talking about NAFTA and NATO and EU — are still doing what they were designed to do,” said Hanson. “Or maybe there’s no need for them, at least in their present iterations. I think he was very valuable.”
Hanson likened Trump to “chemotherapy” used to treat the “cancer” of America’s “permanent political class.”
“He’s sort of like chemotherapy,” stated Hanson. “Chemotherapy is a very toxic drug and it can kill the host — that’s us — but it’s not as bad as the cancer, and the cancer is this permanent political class of people who have contempt for people geographically … in between the two coasts, but also in class terms. I think he really hit something.”
Hanson also credited Trump with driving a a new national discourse on the status quo of both legal and illegal immigration and resulting demographic changes.
“People realized the border — we have another caravan coming up — was out of control,” noted Hanson.
Americans now critically examine the premise that “a melting pot with legal measured meritocratic diverse immigration is the only thing that worked in a multiracial society.” remarked Hanson. Trump broke away from “Republican orthodoxy” regarding immigration, he added. “The Republican attitude was basically, ‘Let as many cheaper laborers in,’ wink and nod, hope they have family values, they express family values, [and] in three generations they’ll vote for us. [Donald Trump] destroyed that paradigm.”

Brown, who recently told her father that she would not consider having children until carbon emissions were vastly reduced, told the BBC’s Victoria Derbyshire show that her concern over the climate meant “each day for me is a struggle”.
“I’m so depressed, and that has led to a fear that I’ve never felt before,” the 25-year-old confessed, explaining: “Since my parents had me, we’ve destroyed 60 per cent of life on this planet.
“There could be 10 percent of nature left when my child is growing up. That is incredibly dangerous. We’re already at the tipping point and I can’t see a safe world for children.”
During an appearance on ITV’s This Morning on Thursday, Pepino highlighted IPCC warnings of “disastrous global temperature rises… unless humanity cuts its greenhouse gas emissions” as central to her decision to choose ‘the planet over pregnancy’.
But the London-based, anti-patriarchy musician, who reportedly now campaigns full time, is also an advocate of open borders, having erected shelters for illegal immigrants in Calais and ‘worked closely’ with the UK NGO Help Refugees.

“Yeah, I can understand the settlement policy is being criticized,” South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham told Fox News on Thursday. “I can understand sometimes the actions Israel takes are disproportionate. But the point is, this wasn’t about Israeli policy; it was about what the Jews do — that the Jews control the media, and the Jews used their money to buy favors. That’s the oldest anti-Semitic play in the book.”

AN FRANCISCO — China’s offensive social-media operations are a sleeping giant, different from Russia’s in ways that Western social-media firms are unprepared to counter, a new report says.
The report, unveiled on Wednesday by cyber security research firm Recorded Future, compares Russian and Chinese disinformation operations.
Up to 18 percent of social media posts in China are government propaganda aimed at its own citizens. And there are a lot of people working that job. How many? First, recall that the Internet Research Agency, the Russian troll farm that attempted to sway U.S. voters before and after the 2016 election, employed at most 600 people. Estimates of the size of the Chinese operation vary, according to research from different academic institutions cited by the Recorded Future report. One study put the estimate at above half a million people.

ROFLMAO. Too funny. You have to look at the charges and the defendant’s age. If Manafort pays back the money he owes in taxes, 3-5 is standard. Tax evasions, bank fraud (acquiring loans or 2nds on mortgages by false info), etc….I figured 3-5 before sentencing. The man is broke, his family is broke, has no assets, he is mentally broken, in bad health, in a wheelchair, and what do the Libs want? They want him to die in prison….for tax evasion, not reporting income, not filing the paperwork for working for a foreign government? Heck, most folks who are sentenced to 17-20 for massive tax evasion and bank fraud actually serve a couple years, 3 months of house arrest with an ankle bracelet, the rest is probation and restitution.
Russia, Russia, Russia! Russia Degrangement Syndrome.
“ On Thursday night, the liberal media had to grapple with the surprising prison sentence of 47 months for former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort by Judge T.S. Ellis. And for MSNBC’s Hardball, the “shocking” and racist decision was characterized as a “breach of justice” by Ellis that’s placed trust in American government “in jeopardy” in favor of allowing his “puppet strings” to be pulled by Moscow.
What more do you guys need to impeach? It seems to me we have the broad daylight robbery of our Constitution right in front of our faces and all the other stuff with Russia, working for the other side and they are the other side, the Russians. All this stuff has been going on in plain daylight. It’s all there.. What more do you guys want?
Later in the hour, Kirschner opined that he’s “a big believer in the judiciary, but what we just saw was an unjust result” and “Bob Mueller will get the last laugh” because “a conspiracy indictment is coming” and the Mueller team could try to charge Manafort again. Talk about scary stuff.
To close out the show, Matthews and Nance went back-and-forth suggesting Judge Ellis was fixed with “puppet strings” with Manafort and Trump to do the bidding of Moscow, hoping that Mueller gets even by “throw[ing] a secret haymaker”

Hallmark best get ahead of the curve. Change the word and you change the meaning. Sorry Mom.
The concepts of mother and father were not an invention of the state. They are simply the reality of human experience. Now state agencies are attempting to alter concepts such as parenthood, mother, and father. Such agencies would have us conceive of our own power and agency differently, and give much of it over to state control.
This includes not only our actions, but how we express ourselves, and therefore how we think of and imagine ourselves. The result is that these changes effectively give more control over children to state agencies, and less to parents. This means that the parental relationships themselves will be policed by external factors that are meant to weaken and monitor it.
It may sound paranoid to fear for the loss of motherhood, or absurd to think that defining both parents as “Parent” instead of mother and father will affect the relationships of parents and children. But if the language we use to define our relationships is what gives us the context to think about what they are and what they mean, and we dispense with the language that allows us to do that, we dispense not only with the word but the definition.“

And your reaction to the Moms’ stories are….??? Having CPS take away off spring from parents is a new trend…most stories I have read are not included in the article I cited. And as I have cited from research from medical and professional pediatric associations and organizations, 90% of those children who think they were born in the wrong bodies (transgenders) change their minds by the time they reach 18-20. But, let’s sterilize minors first and then let them see if it was all big mistake when they reach the age of adulthood. In the meantime, call CPS.

She brought her partner to her matches and was coached by the first professional transgender tennis player, Renée Richards. The spectators were, at best, lukewarm toward Navratilova, and she lost out on millions of dollars in corporate endorsements at a time when being gay was decidedly uncool.

Bill – I am not sure what you want (Please site the study that my 9:16 referred to or the article was based on)? As for the “moms”, the fact that they are anonymous is suspect. The reader has no idea about their credibility or if they are even real people. The “legal repercussion” excuse is a common dodge used by media outlets when their sources are not rock solid. Having said that, I agree that CPS can get heavy handed especially in cases involving drugs. This is the first I have heard of taking children over gender issues. We must also recognize that the latest fad (as championed by the infotainment industry) is gender fluidity, so yes, probably a number of young people change their minds, and some of them change their minds back and forth.

Omar and yesterday’s news. With all the conflating Omar’s long history of her statements with US-Israeli policy, Islamophobia, sexism, POCs, Trump is a bigot, biased media to blame, “hazing” of Omar, diversion, and dilution concerning the House Resolutions, 4 things sum it up for me.
1) Dilution is the solution.
2) ‘Tropes’ was the buzzword of the week
3) Hatred of the Jews is nuanced
4) Intersectionality Rules The Day.
“The only honest excuse we’ve seen thus far comes from House Minority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC), who stated that Omar’s intersectional experiences are simply too important to criticize her for Jew-hatred. Holocaust survivors, their relatives, and Jews generally ought to check their privilege. “There are people who tell me, ‘Well, my parents are Holocaust survivors,’” Clyburn stated. “‘My parents did this.’ It’s more personal with her. I’ve talked to her, and I can tell you she is living through a lot of pain.”
This, in the end, is the real Democratic excuse: Jews are too financially, educationally, and politically successful to be considered victims of anti-Semitism, particularly when that anti-Semitism comes from those who rank higher on the intersectional hierarchy of victimhood. That’s been the underlying Democratic argument for years at this point. Intersectionality means that Jews are the odd group out, even if they’re still the most targeted group in terms of hate crimes.
The Democrats are banking on their new intersectional coalition. If that means ignoring, downplaying, or outright lying about anti-Semitism, they’re willing to do it. And everyone, particularly American Jews, should take note of that vile but clear fact.”
—————————————-
Oh my. That truce did not last long. Storm blew over, coast is clear. I don’t think Omar feels even a sliver of contrition. Back to normal. Time to exact revenge on Meghan McCain.
May Allah open the infidels’ eyes to the evil of the Jews—Ilhan Omar
“But Omar defiantly lashed back by retweeting a post by Medhi Hasan, an Intercept columnist and Al Jazeera host, just hours after the House voted in favor of an anti-hate resolution that was initially inspired by the Somali-born lawmaker’s anti-Semitic comments.
“Meghan’s late father literally sang ‘bomb bomb bomb Iran’ and insisted on referring to his Vietnamese captors as ‘g—ks,’” Hasan wrote, referring to the Arizona senator, who died in August at age 81.
“He also, lest we forget, gave the world Sarah Palin. So a little less faux outrage over a former refugee-turned-freshman-representative pls.”

Salvini and others have presented many reasons for the cuts, arguing that money was being wasted on migrants unlikely to obtain refugee status when 70 percent on average are rejected.
“Who saw immigration as a trough is, from today, on a diet,” Salvini said and slammed mafia groups and others for trying to make a profit from migrants adding, “the world of hospitality will remain that of true volunteers.”
Another report released last year by Italy’s anti-mafia task force showed that migration had become one of the most profitable businesses for criminal organisations across the country.
Foreign organised crime groups often from North African countries, were also said to be cooperating with traditional Italian mafia groups.
