    Nobody responds. No doubt the property owner is responsible for the couch and the insane people get free run of the town up to a significantly high level of illegal behavior.
    It’s all a bellwether. The police are told to allow tent cities, fire bombing of courthouses, incessantly aggressive marches by men-in-dresses and race hustlers. Social workers are as successful as they ever were but always need more funding. Opportunistic insane people are allowed to set public policy and lay down rules in large companies.
    It’s the Day of the Crazies. You can check-out any time you like, but you can never leave.

    Why would that work? You are telling 3 billion people they can’t have electricity or heat. I suspect that even a market approach (CO2 tax applied to imports or something like that) just results in building up their internal market. My guess is that air quality in cities and birth defects/cancer from industrial chemicals are likely the only motivating factors in China towards any kind of clean-up.

    They don’t. If they did, you’d see a huge push for nuclear energy and restriction of mass immigration to the first world. Instead, it’s all about buying fun toys like Teslas, solar panels, and electric bicycles.

    unfortunately for our society in the Age of the Wokening, it is all Bellweather all the time. Social workers are not the brightest bulbs and used to be akin to security guards; observe and report. The Bellweather is that social workers feel empowered now and they don’t just observe and report to the police no more. They report only to themselves and straight to the courts who listens to the Hilary Hodgepodges of the world and by-pass the rule of law.
    When one rewards bad behavior, bad behavior increases and safety (QofL) decreases. And thus it always was and always shall be.

    57 percent of voters voted “no” versus 43 percent for “yes” on a ballot question, which asked if the city charter should be amended to remove the Minneapolis Police Department and replace it with a Department of Public Safety. The proposed charter amendment would have eliminated the minimum police staffing requirement as well as the position of police chief.
