[With daddy’s help Hunter Biden has figured out how to collect on all of his international graft accounts – the sumbich has suddenly become a world renown artiste, ‘selling’ his paintings for up to $500K apiece. Daddy and his DoJ are making sure that the art connoisseurs don’t get fingered as their money gets laundered. It will be interesting to see if/how these ‘Paid in Full’ receipts are displayed. So, no matter how they are run, elections do have consequences. Or as Josif Vissarionovich observed, ‘It matters not for whom the votes are cast, only who counts them.’ gjr]

I reported it upstream before more Paul-drama erupted. Worth re-reporting as it’s not a bad synopsis.
Even the infamous evilguy Mr. Tucker read it on-air I think.
I expect that the original twitterist is simply preaching to the converted. As usual, intuition is followed by analysis and a great deal of the country’s intuition tells them to burn buildings, tear down statues, and ignore the evidence of their eyes. Watching the US go through an infection of crazy has to be nerve wracking to other places, even those with milder versions of the same illness.
Now that I think of it, a person could probably apply epidemiology models to the New Model Army the progressives are building in terms of it’s growth and spread.

Skimming headlines last evening, all the top stories were about Cuba with Cubans waving American flags as demonstrators were demanding democracy.
The very first thing that popped in my head was ‘I wonder what Colin Kaepernick is thinking about that now watching Cuba after his trip to Miami wearing a “Che” Guevara tee shirt and socks with police depicted as pigs. All those Cubans waving American flags while he kneels at the anthem.
Then I thought of Hong Kong and all those brave people waving American flags while the CCP was cracking heads. Some were so bold to wrap the selves in Old Glory while they were being beaten and dragged off to an unpleasant fate.
Later, I saw a side by side of the Cubans and Hong Kongers (sp?) waving American flags and it hit me like a ton of bricks. They are more American flags being waved by foreigners seeking freedom than any Democrat rally or protest I can recall….by far.

Share our successes? That would be a moment of silence for those of us who are still suffering. 🙂
Always had a sick idea of hosting an OCD recovery group in my humble abode. Don’t know if it would help the OCD members, but every picture frame would be level, the top of each door frame clean as a whistle, the coffee maker and appliances shining like they just been pulled out of the box brand new (including the oven) and all the lingering dog hairs gone. Bet they would even get behind the toilet and make it look like Mr. Clean had been there by the end of the meeting. Way cheaper than hiring a cleaning service and much more meticulous. Much cheaper? It would be free! Thursday nights @ 8, come as you are.

Walt…if I switched from coffee to firewater, I would lose my coffee pot, my car, and my humble abode in no time. And probably make the Union police blotter 3 times a week. :). Maybe (most likely) lose my life. That would be also be the time to go scalp hunting for my wigwam.
Hey, Brother Walt, without looking ahead or even thinking about it and not in my mind at all, you just reminded me that this month I had my 30th continuous year of sobriety. 7/7/91. Didn’t know what day it was when I stopped, July 5 or 6, so I picked a date I could remember, 7-7. I was messed up bigtime. That date came and we t and went and I didn’t even notice, lol.
Darn. Now I can’t say I haven’t tipped one back of got sideways for a quarter century. That would be inaccurate, therefore not honest. 30 is not 25.
I once asked someone many many many moons ago how did he ever go 30 years without firewater and he gave me the simplest of advice: “Don”t drink and don’t die.” Simple, but not always easy. A lot of water has passed under the bridge, a lot of good times, bad times, thick times, thin times, some real flustercuck times and the best of times. Haven’t died yet. 🙂

I hear it’s a living hell for those who have loved ones suffering from Alzheimer’s …especially when you bring Mom or Dad into your home to care for. Living hell. My hat is off to all those courageous sons and daughters and relatives and even grandsons and granddaughters and dear friends of the afflicted….who tirelessly go through what they go through without notice, recognition, or crying publicly to the high heavens. Suffer in silence. Those are my heros.
Same with a parent who is tied up at home for years on end caring for their mentally/physically disabled adult children. No other life. That is their life. Unsung Heros.
I remember you and the misses going through that trial by fire.

That was an excellent distillation of the various pertinent points that have been made by others over the last few years.
There’s plenty I could add but it wouldn’t alter the over-all effect.
The last paragraph though was puzzling. Specifically:
“I encourage people on the Left to recognize the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in front of them. You’re not going to agree with the conservatives on everything. But if in 2004 I had told you that the majority of the GOP voter base would soon be seeing the folly of the Iraq War, becoming skeptical of state surveillance, and beginning to see the need for action to help the poor and working classes, you’d have told me such a thing would transform the country. Take the opportunity. These people are not demons, and they are ready to listen in a way they haven’t in a long, long time.”
Conservatives have ALWAYS seen the need to help those less fortunate. Just as it is obvious now that the Dems and the left have lied about Trump, it is obvious they have lied about the poor, race relations and other social ills. Their big govt ‘solutions’ are proven failures and they cling to their hysterical false narratives about reality and NOW they have an opportunity to ‘talk’ to us?
They’ve always had that opportunity – still do.

Part of the reason I posted this is that it’s worth considering to what extent the Navy is a microcosm of society at large, or at least large organizations. Top-down politicization of policy, crippling fascination with the diversity/inclusion/equity religion, micromanagement (largely due to an increasing ease of surveillance), grotesquely large influence of media.
These aren’t so much side effects of a peacetime military but are siblings of the illnesses creeping over the West.

I’ve been quite the student of Canadian church burnings but didn’t want to be Debbie Downer.
You do have to admit that the folks fanning the outrage have done it brilliantly. Looking at old newspaper, the graveyards were well known decades ago. Plus you have the issue of child mortality in the era (50% or so?) and the way that all graveyards degrade (UNMARKED!!! UNDOCUMENTED!!!).
I’m not sure that gathering up Indian kids was a brilliant concept, but this is mostly being played for political reasons. Maybe someone can end up with a nice house from the gofundme proceeds.

What the Team Blue church burnings remind me of is the Cardinal Francis George line while speaking to a group of priests.
‘I expect to die in bed, my successor will die in prison and his successor will die a martyr in the public square. His successor will pick up the shards of a ruined society and slowly help rebuild civilization, as the church has done so often in human history.’
There’s some value to having the long view.

“The Majority Opinion by Judge Julius Richardson–joined by Bush 43-appointee Judge Stephen Agree–looked at militia laws in American history and the Founding Fathers’ views that an armed populace made an armed militia possible, allowing the latter to repel a tyrannical government, should the need arise:
So while the individual right of self-defense was “the central component” of the Second Amendment, the civic purpose “was codified” based on the fear that a tyrannical government would eliminate the civically minded militia. Both reflected the pre-existing right of self-defense that the Founders valued as the core purpose of the state. “In the Founders’ world, individual self protection and community defense were not wholly separate spheres.”
Moreover, Richardson highlighted the time at the Founding of the nation, noting, “Every militia law near the time of ratification required 18-year-olds to be part of the militia and bring their own arms.”
He added:
Around the time the Second Amendment was ratified in 1791, Congress began debating invoking its power under the Militia Clauses to better organize the militias for federal use in emergencies. The effort was pushed by Secretary of War Henry Knox, who argued to Congress that while the “military age has generally commenced at sixteen,” the age for the federal select militia should be set at 18 because “the youth of sixteen do not commonly attain such a degree of robust strength as to enable them to sustain without injury the hardships incident to the field.”
Richardson observes, “Founding-era militia laws provide strong evidence that 18-year-olds were covered by the Second Amendment.””
