Perhaps it works the other way. Fox was dragged into where they are by Trump and The Deplorables. It’s simply a matter of economics. There’s not much money to be made as a Romney Republican. What being a ‘Republican’ is has changed quite a lot.
I like the idea of holding off the ‘impeachment’ until a week before the general in order to cause the most political damage. Emerianism, although not generally helpful, works in mysterious ways.
I do wonder if the Iranian response won’t be to bomb Trump properties. Given that larger cities are Blue Mob run, including typically the Chief of Police, Team Blue could give a hand to any Iranian terrorists wanting to do some special deliveries. The 420th Volunteers is primed and ready if someone could just find the rolling papers.

In the ‘you are saved, lucky you’ or ‘More Birds of a feather’ category: Former TV evangelist Jim Bakker says President Donald Trump is a test of faith and that Christians can pass by loving him.
“You know what? Trump is a test whether you’re even saved. Only saved people can love Trump.”
Great advice coming from a man who was forced to resign over an affair with a 20 year old church secretary (who also received $115,000) and did four years in prison for Fraud. Perhaps Jimmy is trying to save his own soul as well as yours.
George: Do you need an explanation for this rationale or is it easy enough for your light thinkers to recognize the similarities?

Oil prices soar over uncertainty. Trump threatens war “locked and loaded” (a great line especially from a chicken hawk whose daddy got him a friendly bone spur specialist or was he a plumber?)
Now if we only knew if trump will make money from his stock holdings with his blustery threats or is he wagging the dog like Bush II? One never knows anymore just what the motives are.

First, they were jumping for joy when that one Christian publication said Trump was an immoral person and every Christian near and far should denounce Orange Man Bad. After that did not materialize, Christmas rolled around and insensitive bigoted white fools were saying “Merry Christmas” all over the place.
Obama warned us about those gun toting Bible clingers. He warned us. Hillary warned us. Robert Cross and Steve warned us. Punchy warned us. All the deep thinkers warned us.
Hey, they don’t call us deplorable, homophobic, Islamophobic, fatphobic, misogynist White people for nuthin’. And a bunch of isms and phobics I forgot. We be a regular worm farm.
Hillary would be President if not for those damn hypocrite Christians and those damn white men who wrote the rules for our Republic.

Fox still comes out on top on weekends when MSNBC runs non news feature programming.

The Justice Department raised the flag on Flynn being vulnerable for blackmail that caused him to lie to Pence and lose his gig. Just a reasonable assumption based on” … nothing at all. “Critical Thinking” nowadays is less based on facts than it is making stuff up to fit the desired narrative and tying together unrelated factoids. I’d guess Paul is a devout Rachael Maddow fan; she pulls the same sorts of things out of her patootie under the guise of “what if”. It’s the same sort of rhetorical stunt that Glen Beck used to pull (is he even still alive?) and Alex Infowars pulls on a regular basis.
Watching Maddow recently led me to that conclusion; she was eerily reminiscent of Eric Cartman doing his Glenn Beck imitation.

What do we really have against President Trump save the hysterical, distraught, emotional, vicious, politically motivated, … allegations, rumors, charges, accusations, … that are issued with dollops of innuendo used in place of substantive evidence, especially evidence of any wrong doing by the targets of the politically disappointed, inept, and out of power of a party that has presented no program to take the country forward or introduced us to no new leaders who will carry their banners? PaulE 1008am – Your linked article does not go beyond the usual innuendos and allegations flung at the Trumps today. But you should also consider that the Russians’ direct investment was most likely in a venture capital fund that aggregated monies from divers sources including the Russians. And it was this fund which invested in the Trump properties. Therefore, there was no direct investment by Russians per se. Such investments in venture funds is done all the time.

Why does anyone listen to Ben Rhodes on foreign policy?
Rhodes accomplished next to nothing during his time at the apex of the U.S. foreign policy establishment.
Well, I take that back: Rhodes’s led Obama’s outreach to the Burmese junta, a move that legitimized a despicable regime while doing nothing to prevent its murder of tens of thousands of Rohingya civilians, and the displacement of millions more.
Rhodes also masterminded Obama’s supplication to Cuba. That move strengthened the Communist dictatorship without extracting any significant improvements to its human rights policy. Indeed, ironically, considering Rhodes’s Twitter reference to Venezuela, the new wealth that Obama’s Cuba policy brought to the Castro clique has allowed it to reinforce Nicolas Maduro’s Venezuelan dictatorship in Caracas. Cuba’s brutal security services are central in ensuring that the Venezuelan military remains tied to Maduro. In contrast, Trump administration sanctions pressure is now encouraging Cuba to reassess its support for tyranny.
On Russia, Rhodes spent Obama’s presidency constantly figuring out new ways to avoid holding Vladimir Putin to account. Rhodes was never able to figure out the Russian civilian targeting strategy in Syria, even though it was blindingly obvious to anyone with a brain, let alone someone with the very highest security clearance. Nor was the great guru willing to confront Russia’s election interference strategy, fearing escalation.
Oh, and when it came to Russia’s downing of the MH-17 passenger airliner over Ukraine, Rhodes supported the Obama administration’s betrayal of our allies.
On China, also, Rhodes was weak. The Obama administration entered office with a China unsure of how America would respond to its expansionism. It left office with a China that had seized vast areas of international waters, bought off American allies, insinuated the world’s greatest signal intelligence platform into common use, and had thrown millions of its own people into concentration camps.
But hey, at least Obama got Xi Jinping’s word that he would stop stealing U.S. intellectual property. Right? Even if that commitment was patently disingenuous, it at least gave Rhodes some good headlines.

TREASONOUS, OR JUST STUPID?
The Democrats continue to embarrass themselves as they try to make political hay out of President Trump’s defending Americans by ridding the world of its worst living terrorist. Ilhan Omar predictably joined in yesterday, with this tweet:

Some have suggested that Omar’s tweet is treasonous because it advises Iran to strike at American targets, specifically the Trump organization’s hotels around the world. I am not sure that criticism goes too far, but my own critique is different: Omar’s take is almost unbelievably stupid.
First of all, she obviously has no idea what the emoluments clause is all about. It doesn’t mean that a president can’t own commercial properties in foreign countries.
More important, her comments make zero sense. Her suggestion that President Trump might “provoke war” because his hotels are “losing revenue” since guests are “skittish” about the possibility of Iranian attacks is ridiculous. And her conclusion–“His business interests should not be driving military decisions”–is self-refuting. Obviously, if President Trump’s overriding motivation was a desire to avoid possible threats to his hotels, he wouldn’t have had General Soleimani killed. The killing of Soleimani, or heightened tensions with Iran in general, can’t possibly serve the Trump organization’s business interests. Which I am sure is, in any event, the farthest thing from the president’s mind.
Ilhan Omar is a remarkably arrogant, but not very intelligent, person. The only point of this exercise is to note that if you are a Democrat, there is no expectation that your “analyses” of current events make any sense. Hating President Trump is the only requirement, and it is enough to make you a leader of your party, like Ilhan Omar.

The propaganda v the reality of arson in Australia –
