[I voted for John McCain in 2008, even though I considered him a weak entry by the Republicans. But he was a man who had fought the good fight for America, and was a military hero in the true (old) sense of the word. While not agreeing with all of his politics – especially that climate change should be a national security issue for the US – but he did hew sufficiently to the conservative views on property, security (e.g. US as world's white hat hegemon), and liberty. His parting shot at President Trump will assure that his funerary plaudits will make political history. Thank you for your service, and RIP Senator McCain. gjr]

Here’s a Trump quote spreading hate and fear to the Christian community. I’ve been made aware of posters in our community on stop signs saying “Berkley traitors go home before we patriots deport you’re stink asses”. Not that’s violent hate speech from the right in our own community.
“If the GOP loses, he said, “they will overturn everything that we’ve done and they’ll do it quickly and violently, and violently. ”

Given the Russia fooferaw as of late, in an era when they are small, relatively weak and not especially expansionistic (at least compared to the modern US or the former USSR), the irony of that is sweet.

PaulE 920am – Nothing in these pages gets passed on the basis of someone asserting it to be “pure and simple” – that is grist for other venues. By calls for one side silencing the other, vandalism during elections, demonstrations bearing hateful messages, …, the Left has overwhelmingly owned that kind of behavior here and across the nation.
I wonder, do you consider my commentaries in these pages to ‘spread hate’?

I think that the correct term is ‘puling’.
Pule
pyo͞ol
verb literary
gerund or present participle: puling
cry querulously or weakly.
“she’s no puling infant”
Origin: late Middle English (originally referring to a bird’s cry): probably imitative; compare with French piauler, in the same sense.
Translate puling to
Use over time for: puling
I stand corrected!

Not you’re commentaries necessarily George but some of your blogsters certainly do, the Greek- Scottish incident being a prime example.
The point is there is a violent strain of right wingers in our community that are spreading hate and fear. That poster on a stop sign caused me to notify the Nevada City police to be on the alert for an incident since it was intimidating and specifically posted to be viewed by folks attending the Mime Troupe performance that evening.

PaulE 1001am – Since my conservetarian leaning puts me on the Right, and I do hobnob with the county’s Repub leadership, I would be very interested in reporting to them what the Left sees as examples of a “violent strain of right wingers in our community that are spreading hate and fear.” I guarantee you, that you would open some Republican eyes and therefore perform a public service hereabouts, and I will make sure that your report will get heard.

When he took office after McKinley’s assassination, he deliberately did not swear on a bible and he did not believe that currency should bear IN GOD WE TRUST because money is used to buy worldly goods and services.
Roosevelt said in 1907, “My own feeling in the matter is due to my very firm conviction that to put such a motto on coins, or to use it in any kindred manner, not only does no good but does positive harm, and is in effect irreverence, which comes dangerously close to sacrilege…”’

Paul, writing as one of Scottish ancestry, I’ll say I was not offended in the least by the claimed “Scottish” incident. I am offended by your incessant pushing against people who disagree with your politics, and I’m also offended by your faux libertarianism. There are no “Green” libertarians in the ways you claim.
During the 2016 primary season you made a bold claim to me, face to face… the hard part after the November election will be rehabilitating the empty shells of GOP voters after their world is crushed. How’s that worked out for you and yours? How many have moved after you’ve pointed them towards communities where ‘their kind’ seems happier?
Regarding L’s commentary on the worst STD (840pm)… that’s so 16th Century. The new 20th century plague STD that’s into the 21st has killed more than the French Disease (aka the English Disease) ever did.

Liberal Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum, fresh off his upset victory in Florida’s gubernatorial primary, is being showered with praise from big Democratic socialists like Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez – all eager for an epic ideological clash in the race against Trump-backed GOP Rep. Ron DeSantis.
But back home in Florida, Gillum is grappling with a controversy that could distract from this political war of ideas: the ongoing FBI investigation into possible corruption in Tallahassee, the city he has led since 2014.

This is the link where the Trump quote spreading hate and fear came from. the quote was :
“If the GOP loses, he said, “they will overturn everything that we’ve done and they’ll do it quickly and violently, and violently. ”
And another quote showing Trump spreading lies:
“Now one of the things I’m most proud of is getting rid of the Johnson Amendment,” the president said. “That was a disaster for you.”
The president doesn’t have the power to repeal a law — only Congress can do that. The Supreme Court can also rule a law unconstitutional, but that has not happened in this case.

Exclusionary acts are never acts of kindness, Paul, and don’t count your color changes until they’ve hatched. Right now, it’s 50/50. Hillary Hodge lost the last time, and I’d guess she’ll lose again for the GV city council.
I live here, I’m happy here. And Todd probably is, too. Live with it or move yourself, Paul.
But my ancestors were not called animal… ummm… And I was one of the folks making allusion to it…. Scotland, where the men are men and the sheep are scared. It’s an old joke, Paul, get over it. It doesn’t mean any person in particular had ancestors who were active in ‘animal husbandry’ and got away with it. Keach… well, I’ll let him deny his ovine ancestry himself.

PaulE 110pm – This is a bit embarrassing. Paul, you misunderstood the Trump quote you cited – “If the GOP loses, he said, “they will overturn everything that we’ve done and they’ll do it quickly and violently, and violently. There’s violence. When you look at Antifa and you look at some of these groups — these are violent people.”” He was talking about the LEFT, the Antifa becoming violent in overturning what the GOP has accomplished after Obama.
And in your 112pm citation, there is nothing about Trump saying anything about violence. The only use of that word was by a pastor questioning Trump and referring to the violence in Democrat run cities.
Do you have any more such ‘evidence’ of Trump fomenting violence?

I understand the quote. Trump was using fear to incite violence from the right. He is taking the actions of a small fringe group and saying they will be common if the Republicans lose the election. We’re already seeing that locally with the call to action for Violence from whoever put up the signs

PaulE 139pm – Oh, I see. Predicting correctly the violence of the Left is to be interpreted as inciting violence from the Right. And your citation of the recent posted signs advocating deportation is the best you can do as an “already” call to violence. What does ” “Berkley traitors go home before we patriots deport you’re stink asses” mean to you other than forcibly kicking people out of Nevada County? How can it mean anything else? We cannot deport anyone to a different part of our country right? “We patriots deport” is the action promised if Berkley traitors don’t go home. It’s directly advocating violence. How about this. Good reason to support the Dems to take over the House. Drain the swamp starting with fat yellow Carp running the show.
“If Democrats win control of the House in November they will finally have the votes to force an issue they’ve been hammering for nearly two years: Making President Donald Trump disclose his tax returns.
Since Trump took office, Democrats have forced 11 votes in the House of Representatives to require that the IRS hand over Trump’s returns. These votes all failed because only one member of the Republican majority joined the Democrats in their request. If Democrats win 217 or more seats in the November election ― which they have a 74 percent chance to do, according to the polling aggregation site FiveThirtyEight ― they will have enough votes to get these documents.
“You’re damn right” Democrats will vote to get Trump’s tax returns if they win a majority in November, said Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-N.J.).”

I saw and removed the sign the night of the show. It was posted on the stop sign on Bridge Street right next to the venue having the event. Obviously aimed at the audience going to the Mime Troupe.
