“They indeed took Trumps encouragement when he said ” I will tell you this, Russia: If you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing. I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press.”-PunchE
I find it inconceivable that anyone sentient could have missed the joke, as the 30,000 emails were deleted from a server that was in pieces in an FBI/Justice Dept. evidence room at the time. Unplugged, wiped clean with more than a cloth.

The very next day my Dad dropped out of junior college and enlisted, as well as every young man he knew from high school. He, on occasion, still wept for his buddies until his death. He also predicted that excluding the 50th anniversary of Pearl Harbor, the date would no longer make the front pages….before and after. Think he said that around the 47th anniversary.

PaulE 930am – Your logic continues to astound. You have never responded to my explaining to you that “Trumps (sic) encouragement” was to reveal to the world what already was missing and declared purposely deleted/scrubbed by Hillary herself. At the time of Trump’s encouragement the emails were already stolen and/or missing. Trump and the rest of us around the globe wanted to see these emails, and if Russia had them, then it was natural for any concerned citizen to ask that they be revealed so that more informed decisions could be made prior to the election. Our government and the entire press corps was looking for those 30K emails and continues to do so to this day (Wikileaks partial publications excepted).
Paul, one of the constants in your comments over the years has been your inability or cynical refusal to follow causal sequences and common English language definitions. You, of course, are not alone in the practice of this deficit that is endemic in progressive communications.

“Latest revelations make the entire ‘collusion’ probe look like a partisan hit”
That’s from the Editorial Board of the NY Post. It starts with

So Peter Strzok wasn’t just a top investigator for special counsel Robert Mueller until he was axed for anti-Trump and pro-Clinton bias: He was also a major player in the Hillary email probe and the FBI work that led to the “collusion” investigation.
And Mueller and the FBI both dragged their feet on sharing key info about all this with Congress.
Including the news that Strzok was the one who changed then-FBI chief Jim Comey’s draft language on Clinton’s use of that private server from “grossly negligent” to “extremely careless” in the final version…

    Cutting to the chase

The public doesn’t know just how egregious Strzok’s bias was, and won’t until the release of his texts with his mistress, an FBI lawyer who (sigh) was also on Mueller’s team.
But as things stand, it now looks like the fix was well and truly in on the Hillary probe. Far worse, it also looks like the “collusion” probe was a partisan hit from the start — which undermines the basis for Mueller’s own investigation.
    What a mess.

Well, it is safe say that The Punch Drunk One is consistent. Or is it The One Who Drinks The Punch? No matter. Since the election and the smoking gun “Don’t Eat Yellow Snow” Clinton Campaign opposition fantasy that was all dressed up and peddled as an official Dossier, Popinjay has said the same thing. Repeatedly. For his consistently, I give him full credit.
The song and dance goes like this. (Unquote) What concerns me is that the Russians have all this dirt on Trumpf and they can blackmail him at any time. Unquote. That replaced the (unquote) what concerns me is Trumpf had no foreign policy experience and Putin will eat his lunch, (unquote).
I always wondered exactly what foreign policy experience Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagen, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barrack Hussein Obama had when they were elected to the highest office, but I have strayed off the topic.
The topic today is Punchy (again), is it not? So, we have to go back and litigate Hillary’s missing e-mails that got treated with Bleachbot? A good straight shot of Lysol or Mr. Clean would have cleaned the server real nice and purify like. Or let’s decry Don’s support of Measure W, or……whatever Punchy is grasping at straws today. Yes, the final polls were within 3 points, but that was not what Punchy was saying for weeks, nay months, leading up to the election. I know, let’s talk about Nevada County having a Democrat Party majority, excluding Punchy’s vote, of course.
Blackmail! Extortion! My goodness, Trump actually desired to have better relations with the Russians and other countries to start off the new presidency. He must be insane. How Native can Trumpft be? Make bombs not love. Trumpf will sucking the chrome off of Putin’s doorknob! .
They got the goods on Trump now and “my concern” is that the Rooskies will pull Trumpf’s strings. It is safe to say Putin has Trumpf in his back pocket and Trump has no foreign policy experience. Or is that Trumpft is in Putin’s front pocket. No matter. It’s blackmail time. It is inconcevaboe that the Russians do not have blackmail dirt on Trumpft and his greasy bilingual son, Brandon, age 11. Putin is just waiting for the right time to blackmail The Liar in Chief.
There is a certain comfort in consistency. Comfort because it’s so familiar and some have a difficult time with change. Never change Punchy, it gives me comfort.

PaulE 1110am – That is absolutely correct. All countries (including US and Russia) do what they can to influence elections in other countries so as to serve their national interests. Given this, there has been no evidence presented that Russia’s attempts to influence our 2016 election enjoyed any manner of success. All the progressive parrots are able to do regarding that is to repeat that US intelligence agencies concur that Russia attempted to influence the 2016 election outcome. Announcing such an attempt is simply repeating a tautology from which the US Left has tried to spin some sinister form of collusion between Putin and Trump for which there exists no evidence after almost two years of investigations.

So George then we do agree that the Russians do what they can to influence elections “so as to serve their national interests.” IN this case what were the national interests they visioned would be served by aiding in the election of Trump?
Yes, at this point I agree that there is no clear evidence they succeeded in swinging the election but there is much evidence they tried and there is much evidence the Trump team solicited their aid. An example:
On July 8, 2017, Trump Jr. tweeted that he agreed to meeting yhe Russians with the understanding that he would receive information damaging to Hillary Clinton.

There is no evidence whatsoever the Trump team solicited Putin’s aid, Paul, and Trump Jr. didn’t get anything of use from the Russian (not ‘the Russians’) lawyer who was peddling crap. And no evidence the Russians affected even one vote. The $100K they spent on Facebook ads probably didn’t make a rounding error’s bit of difference in any battleground state. It might have made California a bit more lopsided.
They tried many doors. They were locked. Macedonian teenagers probably had more luck hacking Clinton’s rogue server.

    Devon Nunes’ press release

House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes issued the following statement today after the House Ethics Committee announced it had ended its investigation of allegations against him and would take no further action:
“On April 6, 2017, the Ethics Committee announced that it would investigate allegations that I made unauthorized disclosures of classified information. I’d like to thank the Ethics Committee for completely clearing me today of the cloud that was created by this investigation, and for determining that I committed no violation of anything—no violation of House Rules, law, regulations, or any other standards of conduct.
“While I appreciate the Ethics Committee’s work, I need to reiterate that the allegations against me were obviously frivolous and were rooted in politically motivated complaints filed against me by left-wing activist groups. I respect the ethics process, but I remain dismayed that it took an unbelievable eight months for the Committee to dismiss this matter.
“Furthermore, as Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and as a Member of Congress, I am concerned about the unprecedented step the Ethics Committee took in both taking up allegations of unauthorized disclosures of classified information—a review that has historically been undertaken by non-partisan professional staff within the respective congressional committees—and how it ultimately reviewed this specific matter.
“I am also concerned by public statements made by four of the Ethics Committee’s five Democrats that appeared to prejudge this matter before they began investigating the complaint.
“I therefore call on the Ethics Committee to publicly release all its transcripts related to my case. The Committee can work with me and my staff to ensure that any necessary protocols regarding classified information be adopted prior to any such release. Both this House and the American people would undoubtedly benefit from such an act of transparency and accountability to bolster confidence that partisanship does not infect the Ethics Committee’s investigations.”

I’ll be reading it when it sees the light of day.

We are learning things all the time about what happened at that meeting. We do know that shortly thereafter Wikileaks published the emails Trump and Trump Jr were wanting. What we do know is Trump Jr responded to the Russian bait that they had information on Clinton on June 9 2016 and the Wikileaks dump of the Russian provided information was on July 22.
Here is some new information ast month from Fox News about the hacking, published by the Wall Street Journal
The Justice Department reportedly has garnered enough evidence to charge at least six Russian government operatives with hacking the Democratic National Committee’s computers during the 2016 presidential election.
The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday that federal prosecutors could bring charges early next year. The Journal reported that dozens of others may have also played a role in the cyberattack.
Multiple congressional probes and federal intelligence investigations are focusing on Russian interference and meddling in the 2016 presidential election. Those probes are ongoing and began even before the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller to investigate similar charges.

That’s the second time today a word jumped off the page. Soliticed. Decided to let it ride earlier, not worth the waste of time. Solilicited? The Russian lawyer approached Jr. via a friend, changed her story once iinsidevand made it about a Russian child adoption law, and Jr, walked out. But, what the NYT story failed to mention is the Russian lady met with Fusion GPS founder Glen R. Simpson before she walked into the meeting and met with him immediately after the meeting. Probably to get his wire back from her. 🙂
Since the Golden Shower -Yellow Snow Dossier is at the heart and soul on the entire Russian Collusion story, one would think Mueller would be asking the lady (with Ukrainian connections as well) why she met with Fusion GPS founder and key person Glen Simpson before and after her impromptu meeting with Trump Jr. Who solicitated who? Who done did the evil vile vulgar and reprehensible soliciting? Isn’t ‘Soliciting’ something street walkers do?
The second word that jumped off the page today was Al FranknWeinstein’s word “weeks.” You have to be brain dead to believe he will resign in weeks. He said today that the Ethics Committee would clear him, but refuses to go that way. Why not? He said today that some allegations were lies, some interpreted wrongly, and he is the Champion of Women. So, why resign? So, why not absolve yourself through the Ethnics Committee? Why not fight false accusations? But no.
All the Dems are waiting for Roy Moore to win. Roy is the only one of the bunch that is fighting the allegations and calling them all lies. Roy, if he wins, ain’t going to resign. He ain’t going to drop out before the election either. So the Dems and will say after Roy Moore wins, “Hey, Moore did not resign, so why should Al Franknweinstein? The Republicans support finance child molestation! R’s bad for women, D’s bery bery good for women.
Punchy will be the first to say we cuddle with pedophiles . He already says we are Putin Cuddlers. I am sooo wounded….until I consider the source. Then it all makes perfect sense. Wonders never cease.

    More from Reuters
WSJ is a subscription website and not available
U.S. intelligence agencies have said Russian intelligence agencies were behind those cyber attacks, which resulted in thousands of emails and other documents being made public by WikiLeaks last year. The intelligence community concluded in January that Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the campaign to sway the election in Trump’s favor.
Russia has denied it meddled in the election and Trump has denied that his campaign colluded with the Russian government.
If the case is brought by federal prosecutors, it would pinpoint the specific Russian military and intelligence hackers behind the attack on the DNC and the emails of John Podesta, who was campaign chairman for Trump’s Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton.
It would be the second time the United States charged Russians with cyber crimes. In March, the Justice Department charged two Russian intelligence agents and two hackers with masterminding the 2014 theft of 500 million Yahoo accounts.
