[Having lived in the LA area most of my life, Jo Ann and I have done our best to get excited about the Dodgers during our annual and singular homage to baseball – the World Series. We feel that, even if you think the game is terminally boring, all patriotic Americans must submit at least once a year to the national sport. Full disclosure – when they tied 7-7 last night, we gave up and watched an episode of 'Rake' instead. The game's final score vindicated our decision ;-) And then there's the utter joy and dancing in the streets by our progressive neighbors, for Mueller has finally indicted someone connected to Trump. gjr]

Watched a portion of a panel last night on CSPAN. Swamp dwellers and also attorneys. I was hoping they were endangered species. Anyway other than Ken Starr who played it unbiased, the rest were what I call, hysterical in their hate for Trump. The audience was theirs too. I can see the “derangement” syndrome affects even these “pointy heads” in the swamp. Amazing.

I was looking for the justification within the Emolument Clause for the lawsuits the liberals are filing against Trump. Seems to me if he gets room rent in a hotel he owns that is not covered in the Clause. If the money is not from a king, prince or foreign government seems he is off the hook.
“No title of nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no person holding any office of profit or trust under them, shall, without the consent of the Congress, accept of any present, emolument, office or title of any kind whatever, from any king, prince or foreign state.”
This was beaten to death last night by the detractors.

“The conservative media and most of their politicians can not be trusted. They have practiced years and years and years of bad faith. Fox News, Sean Hannity and Wingnut Welfare recipients like A. McCarthy are misdirecting, dissembling, deceiving and lying. They’re encouraged to do it, get paid to do it, and are good at it, like George Rebane here (who does it for free – I think). It works on those who are easily swayed by what they want to hear. Hillary is guilty of none of the nonsense being hyper-bleated by the desperate wingers. It’s just words, nothing else. We were attacked by our enemy and the conservatives watched and helped. They will be punished and must be.”

This sort of hate and intolerance is a problem… once you claim the people who disagree with you to be incapable of good faith and cannot be trusted, it’s a small step to hunting them down. Eric Anderson, meet James Hodgkinson.

Well Gregory you certainly have shown a profound indifference to the Russian interference in our elections. You still don’t believe Russia didn’t interfere do you?
LikeLike
Golly, Paul, yes, we have James Clapper on the record that the Russians did interfere (or was it “meddled”?) in our election, though the only concrete examples we have are $100k in adverts on Facebook (some ran after the election) and now we know the Clintons (both) got roughly a thousand times as much. We also know Clapper earlier perjured himself testifying under oath to Congress so it’s unclear whether he should be believed.

Do you believe anything James Clapper says, Paul? If so, why, unless it’s an answer you are so painfully desperate to believe?

Boy you had to dig in the archives for that one Gregory. The link you provided was 2013. What was the final resolution of that question? Glad you agree that the Russians meddled.

from Paul – “You still don’t believe Russia didn’t interfere do you?”
Well, it must have happened while Obama was pres, so we’re never going to get the truth from his admin. Remember that Obama claimed he knew about it all along and took care of it.
The big question is: Did Russian ‘interference’ alter the outcome of the election?
Who changed their vote because of what some Russian did?
The answer is no to both questions, so why should we be bothered by whatever the Russians did?
We should always be guarding against cyber attacks no matter what the source. If it continues and the govt proves unable to counter the menace then yes, I’ll be concerned. Very concerned.
The left is unable to understand that this whole scenario of ‘Russian interference’ some how affecting our election was a con cooked up by the Dems after they had their feet knocked out from under them on election night.
Mueller, the FBI and anyone else who has investigated this nonsense has found no evidence of the alleged collusion by Trump with Russians to alter the election.

Macedonian teenagers living at home also meddled. So did the Chicoms and NorKs. Probably also Prince Albert of Monaco.
We’ve also meddled in elections in Russia and Ukraine. Just about everywhere else, too.

Do you agree with this finding by Trumps Homeland Security ?
The Department of Homeland Security contacted election officials in 21 states Friday to notify them that they had been targeted by Russian government hackers during the 2016 election campaign.
Three months ago, DHS officials said that people connected to the Russian government tried to hack voter registration files or public election sites in 21 states, but Friday was the first time that government officials contacted individual state election officials to let them know their systems had been targeted.

You’re wasting your breath Greg…..everyday is Pauls own personal “Red Scare”.
Rather than obsess over Clapper lying in 2013, and all the other facts that the left would prefer to ignore, lets just cut to the chase and serve up a heaping helping of Punchy Political Porn as authored by someone who should clearly know better!
Harvard University professor Lawrence Lessig offered a Clinton path to the presidency on Medium, putting forward a series of “if/then” scenarios that lead to House Speaker Paul Ryan handing the White House keys to Clinton.
Related: Hillary Clinton losing to Trump was like Jesus’s crucifixion
Here’s how constitutional law expert Lessig lays it out:
If number 1: If Trump is definitively found to have colluded directly with Russia, he would be forced to resign or be impeached.
If number 2: If Trump is removed, Vice President Mike Pence would become president.
If number 3: If Pence becomes president, he should resign too, given that he benefited from the same help from Mother Russia.
If number 4: If Pence resigns before appointing a vice president, Ryan would become president.
If number 5: If Ryan becomes president, he should do the right thing and choose Clinton for vice president. Then he should resign.
That’s just sad!
No wonder Newsweek is on its deathbed!

Paul, ignoring your question is not the same as “accepting Trump’s statement” he won the popular vote… were fraudulent votes not counted.
At the time, I said popular vote didn’t count. I recall you thought it should. It doesn’t; if it did, there would be fighting for every vote even in California. I also think many more illegal aliens vote than you want to believe. Probably not enough to make up for the lopsided vote in California (sorry, Donald) but there are accounts of jury duty summonses indicating large numbers of illegals are probably registered to vote.
