[OK boys and girls, here’s your Happy Summer Solstice sandbox, all ready to receive another tranche of exhilarating polling reports with follow on debates guaranteed to boost sales of all caffeine-related products.  However, those wishing to consider other topics may gain inspiration from the winning entry in a Dutch artwork contest depicting Europe’s multi-culturalism problems that is making the rounds.  My only criticism of it is that there is way too much rope in the coil.  gjr]

Well, Dr. Rebane is correct as usual. Besides, It is not wise to take off the armor before the battle begins. Pride cometh before a fall and Bill Nye is not a real scientist, but he slept at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
We must indulge our suffering and dismayed fellow citizens and travelers with their little ray of sunshine, aka, Da Polls. That is not too much to ask, now is it? Think of your fellow man suffering yet another crushing blow to his hopes, his dreams, the way things he was told and most assuredly believed it would be. His whole worldview has been turned on its head.
The walls are crashing in upon him and we taunt? Shame, shame. Bad dogs, bad.
Let’s not kick a man when he is down, especially one afflicted with so much contempt and disdain for all things Pubber, coupled with TDS and outbursts of uncontrollable urges to kick us even harder when we are down. We must be better than them. No rioting, no burning cars, no calling the First Lady a whore or the President’s son a retard. And no being mean to the mentally disabled in our midst. Charity begins at home.
Man alive, they will be out for some serious payback now and we all should be concerned. They can’t keep losing. What are the odds? Hmmm. Cubs win the Series after108 years (108 stitches on a hardball), no team had ever been down 3-1 in the NBA Finals and came back to win on the opposing team’s home court, the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history, Trumps wins the election, and Army finally beat Navy. Looks like the Year of the Reckoning continues on and on. Nevermind about that “what are the odds” question.
The solution to alleviating our fears and anxieties over our personal safety and payback is simple: Never get tired of winning.
Allow me to be the first to extend the hand of comfort to our local radio personality and all around fine fellow.
. Yo, Mr. E, you are doing great! You really got him where you want him and he is reeling backwards on the ropes. You got him now! Opps, darn it, saved by the bell. I have full confidence you will be standing over him while he is out cold on the canvas. Maybe next round. Or the round after that. Or maybe a TKO.
Poor Rock and Poll. He is hitting the sauce pretty heavy tonight. We must keep him in our thoughts.
Aha! President Donald John Trump had led the way and had shown us all how to be magnanimous in victory.

So – does anyone here think that Trump will cause Idaho to go red in the midterms?
    What about any other state?
    Michigan? Iowa? Florida?
Yes – everything could crash. That could happen no matter who was pres at this point. Low interest rates and a pumped up stock market always gives the financial market jitters.
Now Trump has to play a game of ‘keep it going til the next election’.
    Politicians always do. Fun.

Sorry to break it to you, Paul, but a move from 50% to 45% is a five point drop, not ten.
The DEM record in special elections since Nov is zero of four. GOP candidates won 100%. And that is despite the utterly false belief of half of the DEM rabble that the Russians are the reason Trump is in the White House.

Thanks for sharing the polls, Mr. E. Good news indeed. Welcome the latest numbers. Everytime Trump’s numbers drop like a lead ballon, he wins. Just don’t make sense, now does it? Boy, they sure dropped after Grab the Kitty and every R and Indie abandoned him.
I love it when the Talking Heads go running around waving pieces of paper with numbers on them in the face of the viewers and anyone they can find to share those babies with. Shout it from the mountain tops, break forth in song in the village square that Trump is DOA.
What goes up must come down. Boy, I heard a big thud last night. Something dropped like a rock and it wasn’t the Deplorable Party.
Don’t know why Mr. EEEEEEEEeee! finds the Libertarian Party wanting or has some principles he finds bothersome. They should be more Green, I reckon. I dunno. I can agree with them on numerous policies and guiding compass. But, I can see why Mr. EEEEEeee may not be happy as a Libertarian Party member. It all is starting to come into focus.

So, what if there’s three folk running for the same orifice? Or if for and against doesn’t add up to 100%
No, a move from 50% to 45% is a five percentage drop.

And no, just because RCP reports the spread doesn’t mean everyone does it. If you go to Rasmussen, they report the 45% as the percentage of Likely Voters who support him, and report the spread between Strongly Approve and Strongly Disapprove as an Approval Index, currently at -14.

@ 10 am on the nose:
Touchy, touchy. He is one if he says he is. Today me, myself and I be whatever I choose to be. Afterall, political parties are just social constructs. πŸ™‚
    About last night……..
The Deplorables down in Georgia dodged a bullet. In the April election for the vacant seat, all it took was 50% plus one vote to go straight to D.C. Jon Ossoff came close, got 48% with his closest challenger getting a distant 20%, who just happened to be some R woman named Handel.
I could see why the Dems tried so hard. Man, they tried. They gave it their all. On the Mr.Ossoff side, 500,000 doors were knocked on, a paid staff of 100 workers, 12,000 organized volunteers and they did the full court press media blitz covering every outlet from Korean newspapers to Christian Gospel stations since the primaries. Celebrity endorsement galore, money rolling in like grows on trees. And they fell short.
Yep, we dodged a bullet, but the roadmap to winning was laid out for us. Ossify had the anti-Trump wind at his back.. But, but, but…..Karen Handel tied her young opponent to Nancy Pelosi. She stuck to that theme over and over again. A vote for Jon Ossoff is a vote for Nancy the Botox Queen. A vote for the Ossoff-Pelosi is a guarantee absolutely nothing gets done for the next two years on jobs, the economy, and other issues important to you, my dear neighbors. A vote for Osoff-Pelosi is a vote for thwarting the work to be done that your family and our country needs. Maybe ‘they’ don’t care about you. Hmm, not bad.
Ossoff the youthful Trump Slayer brought out the image of The Trumpmeister as his rallying cry and that image was red meat for the riled up foaming at the mouth rabid dogs. Handel brought out the image of the obstructionist Pelosi the Botox Queen who is approaching 80 years old, and blocks working on jobs and the economy on purpose.
Thus, it is fair to say when they go low, we go lower. You may quote me on that and I feel no shame. πŸ™‚

Maybe that carpetbagger Ossoff may have stood a better chance if he actually lived in that district. But then again, maybe not. The people voting can see Trump is keeping his word, when history shows LIB promise anything and everything to pander that vote, then deliver on nothing. LIBS have been great job killers. Great at separating people from their money, stripping us of freedoms, and can’t write laws and regs. fast enough.
The people are seeing that diff. today. Nope, it’s going to be a real hard sell to elect a LIB anywhere except Ca. But that will stop in due time. More regs and taxes are in our future. ENJOY….

Thanks to our great leader in The White House, Ford won’t be making the Focus in Mexico. They’ll make it in China instead.

We’ll see how good the new beef deal with China is for America. The new sugar deal with Mexico means higher consumer prices in the U.S. Some victory.

Thanks to our great leader in The White House, Ford won’t be making the Focus in Mexico.

More appropriately thanks to the 1 billion in savings China vs Mexico.
Bloomberg reports Ford to Save $1 Billion Building Focus in China Instead of Mexico.

Ford Motor Co. is canceling controversial plans to build the Focus small car in Mexico, saving $1 billion by ending North American production entirely and importing the model mostly from China after next year.
The U.S. automaker will start making the next-generation Focus in China from the second half of 2019, a year after output ends at one of its plants in Michigan. Ford will trim about $500 million in costs by shifting production to China, adding to the $500 million already saved from canceling construction of a small-car factory in Mexico earlier this year.
The company will be testing both consumer appetite for China-built cars and the tolerance of President Donald Trump, who has criticized automakers for importing vehicles from overseas.
β€œWe’ve done a lot of research and consumers care a lot more about the quality and the value than they do about the sourcing location,” Joe Hinrichs, Ford’s president of global operations, said in a conference call with reporters Tuesday. β€œiPhones are produced in China, for example, and people don’t really talk about it.”

Whoooo! As bad as the political class is in California I think Illinois is worse……

Bruce Rauner spent a chunk of his personal fortune running for Governor in 2014 to save Illinois from its tax-and-spend political class. More than two years later it looks like the former private equity star has made better investments.
On Tuesday evening the Governor with the worst job in America explained why he and his fellow Republicans have offered to raise taxes for the sake of ending a multiyear budget impasse with Democrats. He said he’ll accept a four-year increase in the flat state income tax to 4.95% from the current 3.75%, expand the sales tax and implement a cable and satellite TV tax.
This is a political defeat by any definition since Mr. Rauner campaigned on lowering the income tax to 3%, not on restoring the rate close to what it was under the last Democratic Governor. The β€œtemporary” 5% rate partially sunset in December 2014. Democrats who run the legislature refused to negotiate over a budget unless Mr. Rauner agreed to a tax increase, and now they’re refusing to make notable spending or economic reforms in return.
The political tragedy is that Mr. Rauner didn’t make this mess; he was elected to clean it up. Former Governors Rod Blagojevich and Pat Quinn, a crook and a schnook, borrowed some $17 billion through pension obligation bonds. Since 2009 the state bond rating has been downgraded 21 times. The biggest culprit is state House Speaker Michael Madigan, who fronts for the government unions.
Mr. Madigan hasn’t said if he’ll accept Mr. Rauner’s offer, and perhaps he’s holding out for even more concessions. Mr. Rauner may come out the political loser, but the citizens of Illinois will suffer the most.
    Proposed Deal
    1) Four-year tax hike to 4.95%, up from 3.75%
    2) Expansion of sales taxes
    3) New taxes on cable and satellite TV
    4) Four-year property tax freeze*
    5) No right-to-work reform
    6) No collective bargaining reform
    7) No pension reform
    8) No workers’ compensation reform
    9) No spending cuts
    10) No term limits
    11) No gerrymandering reform
*That alleged property tax freeze is just at the state level. It does not include a freeze by home rule districts.

FYI: You recently asked what ever happened to Glen Beck. Heard him for a few minutes this morning on my transistor radio. The Glen Beck Show, 1410 AM out of Marysville or somewhere in the State of Jefferson. Don’t know where it is found on its FM broadcast, my transistor radio does not have FM. 9-noon slot, up against Rush.
Glen played a audio clip of Trump and I starting rolling on the ground laughing. I get Trump’s humor and his bravoing. You get it, most get it. Those who don’t it get confused and most perplexed, to say the least.
I was thinking the fact checkers would be gearing up to full speed now and the pundits would be looking with stern faces at what he meant by what he said, lol. So, I found the audio clip and sure enough, the fact checkers were counting beans. Love it.

You should post that link over on Safe Places, Great Divide, Progressive Report, but only if you want to. I ain’t the boss of you! Liked this money quote:
From my time as editor-in-chief of a left-leaning Canadian magazine, in which capacity I had to monitor the online response to my content, I can attest that the true enforcers of Twitter’s journalistic gossip chamber aren’t exactly household names. Many are quite young, and have relatively few followers. What they do have are markers of authenticity that allow them to speak authoritatively on matters of race and gender. They also tend to inhabit professional domains that signal a devotion to purity of thought and cause: artists, academics, musicians, street activists, poets” and local fakenews directors for obscure counterculture FM stations. Ok, just the part in quotes for the purists out there.
Actually, the reason I am trolling you is I have a question. Have you heard or seen from Maxine the largemouth bass in the Waters lately? Seen or heard anything??? They must have put her on ice or the deep freeze.. Haven’t seen nary a hide not hair from Maxine since they all replaced the words ‘influenced’ and ‘hacked’ with the simple new buzzword ‘meddle’. Yes, corellation does not equate to causation, but sometimes you gotta wonder. Did see get banished?
