[I and several readers have noticed that mud-slinging bouts in the sandbox occur in waves, but recently these have come at an increasing pace and with longer durations.  The resulting comment streams are difficult to parse for those readers who don't give a crap about the kindergarten tit-for-tat antics; it just makes it harder for everyone to find the substantive comments that contribute to an interesting topic thread.  In the past I've had some success stopping these episodes by just excising the offending comments.  The problem is extra work for me because sometimes a comment starts out with a thoughtful/substantive proposition and then ends with a mudball, or vice versa.  I will solve this problem by just eliminating the entire comment and let the writer determine the profit in reposting a more civil version of the removed.  gjr]

Don, you actually are the sad one. A checkered past, impotence and the tendency to take a few nips at night, well lets just say its not a real good combination, would you agree? So we tend to understand your plight. When O’Reilly gets fired in the near future, its going to be a very sad day in your lonely house. We all feel sorry for you.

PaulE 835pm – This is an area in which I claim very little expertise. Yes, many interactions which today would be a basis for litigation were more commonly accepted in days of yore. (Don’t let your logic now conclude that I condone sexual harassment.) All I know that courting the opposite sex (or any expressed gender?) today is much more complex and dangerous. The new role of women in our society has yet to stabilize, and I’m not sure I like the direction things are heading, but then you knew that.
On another topic, for the record RR is now in its 11th year.

BANNON LOSES POWER; STRIPPED OF SECURITY CLEARANCE

The Bannon story as reported by CNBC:
“Bannon originally served on the committee as a check against ousted National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, a top White House official told NBC News. However, Bannon only attended one meeting and felt he was no longer needed in that role after the selection of H.R. McMaster as national security advisor.
McMaster, who Bannon wanted in the role, was given authority to reorganize the committee when he joined the White House, according to NBC.”
In other words, this is a nothing burger, and security clearances are always Need To Know. No need to know, no clearance.

More from our Liar in Chief. He’s blaming Obama for not going into Syria yet in 2013 he was against all intervention. Here’s a tweet from ’13 after it was revealed that Assad had used chemical weapons and Obama was chastised for inaction after his infamous “line in the sand.”
“President Obama, do not attack Syria. There is no upside and tremendous downside. Save your “powder” for another (and more important) day!”

Paul wanted to know why I’m the only woman that shows up here. The answer is that I’m interested in many things including other opinions regarding whatever subject. Most women I know aren’t. Dr. Rebane’s local discussion site is interesting. I’ve never liked bullies, nor ignorant profanity that’s part of the distraction, but do enjoy intelligent discussions regarding current events even though the reporting is questionable. For instance…”Busted! Elizabeth Warren destroyed by shocking new report”…designed to keep stirring the boiling masses. After watching this mentality over many years I added my two cents worth. “She’s just another puppet-scapegoat distraction like Susan Rice, Hillary Clinton, Obama (the first black President) etc…the beat goes on and on. They all got to be wherever by doing what they’re told. Hillary summed it up when she said, “What difference does it make?” Yes, living in the powerful, stinking, immoral swamp is a deadly place too be once you’re in too deep.”
The other day I stumbled onto an interesting video about one of my favorite studies that more, or less explains Hillary Clinton’s discouraged comment. It’s an old human problem that has been repeated many times throughout history like we’ve all been going to school and tested to see if we learned anything….And some will laugh and poke fun at the idea that there might be something more intelligent than us.

    Your tax dollars at work:
In the first 76 days in office, Trump has visited “Trump” branded properties (hotels, golf courses, office buildings) 22 times. So a little over once every three days he is “out of the office” so to speak. I wonder if all these “public appearances” are on official business and at what cost to the taxpayers? In other news, the cost of a Mar a Lago memberships have more than doubled.. access to the prez isn’t cheap. I wonder if the guy holding the nuclear football got gratuities from all the people taking selfies with him?

When during Obama’s tenure I called him Liar-in-Chief, it was because he told purposive lies when the truth of the matter existed and lay otherwise. Many liberals today are calling President Trump the same, but under totally different conditions. No president in memory has put so much effort into keeping his campaign promises as has Trump, and the realities (some arising late) have not always cooperated. I would ask the reader to distinguish between such exigencies.
For example, BEFORE Assad’s recent nerve gas attack on innocent civilians and children Trump was willing to work with the Russians to resolve the Syrian civil war that could have left Assad in charge of coalition government that included the now rebel factions. After the sarin attack Trump was outraged at Assad’s temerity, and openly stated that he has changed his mind toward keeping Assad. Contrary to what progressives now maintain, that change of mind does not make his previous statement a lie.
I am again reminded of Baron Keynes’ famous response to a journalist, “When new facts come in I change my mind. What do you do?”

Cross may have missed the fact that businessmen do business on the links, looking at who was playing with the Prez is key. In 0’s case it was usually close friends and varying athletes. In the case of the current President he is playing with people who are related to policies and legislation. A world of difference. Its interesting to hear that Trump gives 2 strokes to Jack Nicolas. 😉

Bonnie: What do you think about O’Reilly sexually assaulting women and paying $13 million in hush money and then trump supporting him? The men don’t seem to want to comment about that.
Not desperation George, just pointing out what we are getting for our tax dollars.
Walt: if you recall, trump criticized Obama for playing golf during the campaign and said he would be too busy running the country to play golf… yeah, right.
Don: businessmen do business on golf courses.. trump isn’t a businessman, he is the President of the United States.. a way different job.. You also seem to contradict yourself when you say, “In 0’s case it was usually close friends and varying athletes” and then say trump “is playing with people who are related to policies and legislation” and that he gave “2 strokes to Jack Nicolas.” Please explain how Jack is 1) not an athlete, and 2) how Jack is related to policies and legislation.

Grasping at dried out straws there Cross. Where were YOU when “O” was on the golf course most of the time? Not a word that I can recall. But since it’s Trump,, well you know the rest.
But Trump isn’t wasting time filling out sports brackets in the oval office like “O” did with cameras catching it all. Any movie stars? Any who’s’ who of Hollywood?
Trump is all business, and has kept his word to turn this nation around, and it already shows. Much to the Progressives dismay. He is working to give us our rights back day by day. Unlike the Progs who have progressively stripped us of rights. Control the people is the name of the game.
Trump started turning things to the positive before he was even sworn in. Now that is a first.
In contrast, Gov. Moonbat is sticking it to us, AGAIN! Enjoy the new tax grab. Where the hell did all the money go from the last hikes? Pissed away as usual. “we need it for roads”,, but what I see is brand new Caltrans cars and trucks in every compound. Survey crews measuring the same places over and over. Now how many times is the stretch of 49 from Bear River to Auburn need to be remeasured? Has it changed? It’s “make busy” work to justify someone’s existence on the payroll. (not that you would care)
But 200 bills getting passed in SAC for social justice BS to the tune of a billion or so dollars is fine.(if your a LIB) Yet cry to DC for emergency money for storm damage.

Well, back to beating the war drums 24/7. The usual suspects. Pretty Boy Marco, CNN….sounds like the Bush boys are still in power. Yes, they did not go anywhere. The new rallying cry is “War or Bust!”.
Our history of dealing with the Syrian rebel factions is as bad as our dealing with a “legit” Afghan government. Noticed the Arab Leaugue is quiet on the Syrian gassing. So is China. They aren’t about to waste their money.
Whether Assad gassed his enemies or his people I don’t know. The chorus of it was absolutely 100% Assad without a doubt happened too quick. Our intelligence was that quick? It took us months to find out the real story behind Benghazi and a period of time to find out ‘Hands up, don’t shoot’ never happened.
It just does not make logical sense to Assad or Putin. Assad is a bad guy, but he has been winning his war and the world has warmed up to the idea of Syrian coalition government (that also protects Christians) headed by Assad. Our policy of regime change since the April Spring has proven a failure at best. Gassing of citizens in no way helps Assad advance his agenda. Putin may be diabolical, but he is methodical and not given to rash decisions. Maybe Assad went of his rocker and cut off his nose to spite his face, but unlikely. Something smells funny here. Plus, their are too many holdovers in government (and the Leftist Media) that are licking their lips to go to war. Serious war.
Guess we are back to WMDs and regime change and billions of dollars of wasted effort. It will start as it always goes. Our planes flying over to Syria to protect something, a no fly zone enforced, a few hundred advisors on the ground, then thousands of GIs. Noticed the Tailban is back and alive and kicking in Afghanistan.
This is Syria we are talking about, not WW2. If we are so concerned with the unspeakable treatment of thousands upon thousands of innocence women and children (especially young girls around aged 9 being raped in front of their tied up parents by the tens of thousands), we should go after Boko Haram and all the bloodthirsty savages doing genocide across Central Africa….if we want to be consistent and stop true madmen.
The narrative had Bennett created and the war drums are filling the jungle air.

Your view of Assad and Syria and the current situation is fairly consistent with that of Ron Paul. I too am confused as to what possibly could be Assad’s motive in instigating this horrible act against innocent civilians. Much to question about that theory.
    Quoting Ron Paul
“Before this episode of possible gas exposure and who did what, things were going along reasonably well for the conditions,” said Paul. “Trump said let the Syrians decide who should run their country, and peace talks were making out, and Al Qaeda and ISIS were on the run.”
“It looks like, maybe, somebody didn’t like that so there had to be an episode, and the blame now is we can’t let that happen because it looks like it might benefit Assad,” he said.
