This morning’s massacre at an Orlando LGBT nightclub provides and ongoing confirmation of the chasm between Left and Right America.  From the national Democratic leadership and their lamestream media right down to our own RR readers of a markedly progressive bent, their impetus is to deny, minimize, or ignore –

  1. Any connection to Islam and Islamic teachings;
  2. Any connection to the longstanding Islamic jihad against the west;
  3. Any connection to the growth of ISIS sponsored/motivated attacks in the west;
  4. Any connection to this administration’s policies toward combating radical Islam;
  5. Any admission that such massacres are part and parcel of Islam’s resumption of the war between civilizations in all its dimensions;

Instead, the message from the Left and their local lackeys is that –

  1. To understand the night club massacre we must find a “common denominator” [Senator Bill Nelson (D)] between it and the killings like that of singer Christina Grimmie in Orlando;
  2. There is no connection between the killer Omar Mateen and the global Islamic jihad, his Islamic religion is just a coincidence;
  3. International terrorism consists of independent and coincidental acts of secular violence that have no relation to Islam nor Islamic organizations supporting worldwide jihad.
  4. ISIS had nothing to do with this, its recent online message boards targeting Florida and publishing a hit list of Americans to be killed was just a coincidence;
  5. The massacre was an act of “domestic terrorism” motivated by America’s still rampant homophobia and “insanely loose gun laws”;
  6. The murderer was simply a homegrown killer who hated the LGBTs, and went off the deep end because of America’s history of ‘gun violence’ and mass killings;
  7. Donald Trump’s inflammatory rhetoric about vetting Islamic immigrants contributes to and lends justification to such acts.

And what of the liberals’ prescription for the country’s public response to killings?

  1. First and foremost, suppress any and all expressions – speech, analyses, reports, … – that smack of ‘Islamophobia’ since Islam remains a religion of peace;
  2. Double down on all efforts and initiatives to disarm law abiding Americans and abrogate the Second Amendment;
  3. In the interval make the legal acquisition and uses of firearms as restricted and difficult as possible;
  4. Minimize the display of American symbols, totems, and Americana in general so as not to create a ‘threatening environment’ to the Muslims among us;
  5. Rededicate our educational system to teach the historical misdeeds of America;
  6. Rededicate our diplomatic efforts to separate global terrorism from its Islamic wellsprings and sources;
  7. Rededicate our media’s presentations to portray America as the source of all the world’s ills in the areas of human rights, economics, and imperialism – apologize for our very existence.

[Update]  Now that the day is drawing to a close on the horrific massacre in Orland, it’s time to take stock on how the media, the federal government, and their grass roots constituents reacted.  It turns out that they nailed the above predictions and prescriptions as far as they went.  More to come.

  1. No mention of Islamic terrorism or jihad against the west from the feds, this in spite of overwhelming evidence that the shooter was a radical Muslim, gave credit to ISIS and its leadership for motivating him, died with ‘Allahu Akbar!’ on his lips, and that ISIS took full credit for being behind the massacre.
  2. Our president’s statement regarding the event was beyond lame, claiming that it was the result of “hatred” when the shooter and the rest of the world knows that it was about theocratic ideology, and that it was ISIS inspired and timed.
  3. The attributed proximal cause of the whole episode is the ready access to and legal possession of guns by law-abiding Americans. The occupation, training, and motivation of the killer is prudently ignored.  And this will be another crisis that must not be wasted to further proscribe America’s liberties.
  4. Our government has no anti-jihadist policy. Its claim of droning more ragheads than the previous administration is specious.  That kind of targeted killing of eagerly replaceable ISIS commanders has no effect on their spread across the world, and simply provides impetus for more Muslims – ‘migrants’ and citizens – to plan and commit lone wolf attacks.  The solution to wiping ISIS off the map in Syria and Iraq is not on the table.
  5. The feds claim that nothing more can be done in the US since monitoring 320M people is beyond any reasonable capability, while the truth is that only the 3M from whom the terrorists issue need closer scrutiny.
  6. By any measure, the bane of our pro-Islamic leadership that refuses to even name a sworn enemy which successfully operates within our borders and instead provides them succor can plausibly be seen as an act of an angry God. The spiritually inclined may rightfully ask what brought this curse upon us.

    He was removed because he is in the protected class and HSA did not want to be accused of racism. So PC prevails once again. That must be what explained the ridiculous “speech” by Obama.
    I find it fascinating that all of us but mostly the “apologizers” of the left, (mostly in th lamestream media) can’t figure out that a non Caucasian man could do this without some form of internal brain fart. I just watched a CNN reporter go through that angst on camera. My goodness, sometimes things and people are simply evil.

    A careful reading of US v Miller reveals the Supremes of four score years ago believing the 2nd Amendment only applies to guns usable in a military context. I’m not sure if the AR meets that test since the military tends to use the NFA versions, not the ones limited to one shot per trigger pull.
    “Jon” only sees “military style assault weapons” as the common thread and ignores the pretend gun free zones chosen by thinking homicidal maniacs who wish to be left alone to get ‘er done.
    That reminds me… have Pelline and Frisch declared their homes and businesses to be gun free zones yet? Inquiring minds want to know.

    jons 655pm – For those not aware, radical Muslim organizations have been formed and announced by the tens each year for at least the last twenty years. Anytime a small group of unassociated Muslim radicals get together, they boost their egos and image by forming yet another clutch or ragheads ready to do battle with the west. The overwhelming number of them dissolve fairly quickly as their members become either disaffected or join a more ‘going concern’ that satisfies their lust for jihad. However, some few do hang on.
    But the main point here with ISIS et al is not when they were formed, but when and how they became powerful as a factor in the spread of fundamental Islamism.

    Russia Hacks DNC Server
    Do you think if the Russian techies can hack the DNC commercial grade server that Russia would have any trouble hacking Hillary’s private server?
    Russian hackers penetrated the Democratic National Committee’s computer network, compromising a a raft of information including research on presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump, officials confirmed Tuesday.
    “The security of our system is critical to our operation and to the confidence of the campaigns and state parties we work with,” said Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida, the DNC chairwoman. “When we discovered the intrusion, we treated this like the serious incident it is and reached out to CrowdStrike immediately. Our team moved as quickly as possible to kick out the intruders and secure our network.”

    Those stubborn facts just keep popping up:
    In 2014, 248 people were killed by rifles. Rifles would include “assault weapons”. Thus, more people are killed by knives than by assault weapons. Indeed, more than twice as many people are killed by “hands, fists, feet, etc.” than by assault weapons. (Some of these numbers could change slightly with “Firearms, type not stated” although most of these are probably handguns).

    Lets stop the nonsense. The issue is that militarized weapons and assault rifles are mass killing machines, nothing more. They will be better regulated now that Trump is onboard with controls, and the Senate soon will pass some restrictions. They read the polls and overwhelming public sentiment. When Clinton is elected, and the Senate goes Dem, likely headed toward further restrictions.

The Pellines and Frischs keep hoping that blood of defenseless victims will turn the tide every time there’s a bloodfest by some murdering bastards, but to no avail… in fact, Hillary Clinton’s “assault weapon ban”, purely cosmetic features made illegal, made no difference in crime statistics, the reason it was allowed to sunset out.

    Here we go!:

    Despite the horrific loss of life and the dozens more injured by a spiteful, deranged shooter in Orlando yesterday, the forces of hate are losing the battle against the vast majority of peaceful individuals who want social tolerance. But Americans remain at risk of more mass shootings.
    Hundreds of individuals from all backgrounds lined up in the Florida heat for hours to give blood to the victims of this tragedy. Millions of Americans nationwide share the grief of this moment and express their sympathy in vigils and social media. The outpouring of love and support from caring people is what truly makes America great.
    Government can neither protect us from people who hate, nor can it provide the love and support of people who, by nature, care for their fellow man. But government can greatly reduce the likelihood of mass shootings by getting out of the way of people who want to defend themselves and others.
    Without missing a beat, old party politicians recycled their calls for more failed and deadly policies.
    Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump demonizes Muslims, failing to distinguish hateful and mentally ill individuals from the millions of peaceful Muslims who strongly condemn acts of violence.
    Democrat Barack Obama calls for more deadly restrictions and prohibitions on the rights of peaceful, responsible gun owners to stop shooters and minimize their impact.
    The Libertarian Party is the only political party calling for sensible, serious policy change that would reduce the frequency of mass shootings as well as minimize the damage they do.
    Virtually all mass shootings happen in “gun-free” zones. Regardless of the ideology of the shooter or the type of weapons used, the common link is that the event occurs where responsible gun owners are prohibited from carrying arms for self-defense.
    The Pulse nightclub was a “gun-free” zone.
    The Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California was a “gun-free” zone.
    The Bataclan nightclub in Paris was a “gun-free” zone.
    The schools in Newtown, Connecticut and Columbine, Colorado were “gun-free” zones.
    Fort Hood was a “gun-free” zone.
    In each of these mass killings, the government prohibited people from exercising their life-saving right to self-defense.
    Government-mandated “gun-free” zones disarm those who want to defend themselves and their loved ones.
    “Gun-free” zones create killing fields for mass murderers who, by definition, do not care what the law says.
    Self-defense is a fundamental human right. Every person has a right to defend herself and her loved ones against someone who would do them harm. When government takes away the right of self-defense, it is violating a fundamental human right and endangering its citizens.
    The choice of whether and how to defend oneself is a profoundly personal one. The government should not mandate that every American carry a weapon for personal self-defense, nor should it mandate that every American must rely on police for protection.
    The beauty of the right to self-defense is that it keeps the criminals guessing as to who has a gun and who does not. This deters mass shooters from even trying.
    The Libertarian Party supports freedom of choice and calls for the government to stop denying our human rights.
    Our thoughts, prayers, and love go out to the friends and families of those slain or harmed in Orlando. We owe it to them, and to all citizens, to do what we can to stop tragedies like this in the future
    How many more mass shootings will occur before we demand that our government stop violating our fundamental human right to self-defense?
    No more government-mandated “gun-free” zones. No more government-created killing fields where madmen can slay innocent people.
    No more!

    So, have we found the motivation of the shooter yet???? Self-hatred for liking to French kiss
    guys, being bullied at kindergarten, mentally ill, or just being a registered Democrat put him over the edge? Anybody know?
    How he was able to call 911 3 times, a news station, a web site, and some say the FBI and still shoot 100 people while gabbing on the phone shows he was a great multitasker.
    You know the San Berdu babe also called authorities during the act. Seems that there is a proper way and wrong way to do the jihad thang. No, you just can’t yell Yabba Dabba Doo and start blowing people up or go out with guns blazing. Nope. If you are a Islamic type, you have to notify the infidels and telling then what and why you are doing. Like, the why he explained clearly to authorities several times. Something about sworn alliance to The Big Kahuna and the Islamic Republic for which he stands.

I know, cause Obama is bombing his country. Nope, Obama is not bombing his country, which happens to be the USA. He was born here. Hmmm. Puzzling.
