Apparently Latinos are moving to Trump.
http://latino.foxnews.com/latino/opinion/2016/06/07/opinion-big-data-reports-latino-support-for-trump-on-rise-at-37/
Also, Debra Saunders at the SF Cron has a piece interviewing a gay latino supporting Trump who was attacked at the San Jose rally. You just can’t make this stuff up.
Next the blacks will be coming over since they want jobs not handouts. It will be really interesting.LikeLike

RussS 643am – It took some work, but I found our Measure W MABs in the 1jun16 sandbox comments. Yours, Jo Ann’s, and mine were respectively [ 46%, 51%, 49.5%, 0.6], [48%, 55%, 51.5%, 0.6], [48%, 53%, 50.5%, 0.4]. Although none of us thought W would do as poorly as its current 42.2% (to be updated as all votes are counted) and none of our MABs bracketed the current 42.2%, your prediction with a low of 46% came closest to the election result.

This could be why Trump admires Putin:
Vladimir Putin’s speech – SHORTEST SPEECH EVER. Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, addressed the Duma, (Russian Parliament), and gave a speech about the tensions with minorities in Russia:“In Russia, live like Russians. Any minority, from anywhere, if it wants to live in Russia, to work and eat in Russia, it should speak Russian, and should respect the Russian laws. If they prefer Sharia Law, and live the life of Muslim’s then we advise them to go to those places where that’s the state law.
“Russia does not need Muslim minorities. Minorities need Russia, and we will not grant them special privileges, or try to change our laws to fit their desires, no matter how loud they yell ‘discrimination’.
We will not tolerate disrespect of our Russian culture. We better learn from the suicides of America, England, Holland and France, if we are to survive as a nation. The Muslims are taking over those countries and they will not take over Russia. The Russian customs and traditions are not compatible with the lack of culture or the primitive ways of Sharia Law and Muslims.
“When this honorable legislative body thinks of creating new laws, itshould have in mind the Russian national interest first, observing that the Muslims Minorities Are Not Russians.”When will we have an American President stand and declare America First?

Let’s revisit for a moment one statement of Heidi Hall’s environmental stance:
“The greatest threat to our national security, public health and long-term economic growth is climate change”
That’s the horse she’s hitched to the wagon, we’ll see where it pulls the county to in the coming years.

I am looking forward to watching Hall’s climate change wagon get mired in the ponds of bad science, pulled by horses winded with political congestion. It is going to ba long four years for Hall with a lull in the sun spots, a cold PDO, and a cold AMO. Historically these conditions have produced a cooler dryer planet. It will be difficult to blame the ensuing drought on a warmer planet. Yes, let the cosmic ray dance begin.LikeLike

“Democrats are in trouble” because a full 60% of the Republicans couldn’t be bothered to get off their ass and vote! Talk about apathy!! I think maybe the grand Old party is getting too old. Too tired to kick off their slippers and get up from the Lazy Boy, their Rob Roy, and reruns of I Love Lucy. I think a lot of Republicans have hit that stage in life where they simply don’t care much about what elections mean, because it really won’t effect them for long. In the health care profession it is known as the Old Codger syndrome because so many elderly people don’t follow medical advice because they think, “why bother?”
jon smith 10:34There were no partisan contests to motivate GOP voters, so to extrapolate that to old Republicans don’t care is particularly silly. Remember, even Pelline used to demand partisan politics didn’t apply to the Board of Supes… it’s non partisan, remember?

My, with all this political stuff going on, I am puzzled why so many people are upset..nay…outraged over Hillary wearing a $12,000 jacket while giving a speech on income equality last May.. Boy, that minor story still has legs and the Bernie Bros just won’t let it die. Like, they are just finding out about My Gal’s lust for the finer things or something. It’s just not the Bernie Bros, though. Conservative sites and FB postings are keeping this story alive. I thought having the 1st female presumptive nominee of a major political party would have people fainting and crying and euphoric like O had them going in 2008. But no. No earth shaking stories going ape shit over this historic achievement. Since I don’t watch TV, I kept waiting for the inflection in the news readers’ voices to bust out into some semblance of enthusiasm. But no, just a monotone yarner announcing Hillary is a woman at will be the 1st blah, blah, no doze time. Whatz up with that. Something is missing. Maybe a thing call authenticity.
So, this expensive article of clothing Hillary chose to wear to her income inequality speech has grown legs and her nomination hadn’t. Boy, something is amiss on the Dem Establishment side this year. Maybe it is the candidate, but I could be wrong.

All the information I needed to know to decide who to vote for was clarified and crystallized by the streets of Anaheim, Phoneix, San Jose, and Chicago. Now all of Ametica knows who the Brown Shirts really are. It’s was disgusting watching clips of peaceful people running for their lives by the Democrat horde busting out into mob mentality. Even the cops had to stand down “in fear of their own safety.” Fucking mob mentality Democrats trying to shut down free speech, then physically attacking and blooding anyone deemed sympathetic to the Republician presumptive nominee.
That is all I need to know, see, and hear. If those angry violent smashers of people, places, things, and property (both private and public) think I will ever side with them, they are nuts. Tell me, who in the heck could ever ever vote for the party who has such despicable members as its base and forments ON PURPOSE such ghastly 3rd World behavior?? Goons, hooligans, criminals, and anarchists are the lot of them and they are all Democrats, socialists, and authoritarian ass wipes. Yes, the best thing about that bunch indeed ran down their Momma’s leg.
Of course, being Democrats they left mountains of trash and mayhem in their wake, but left as good friends. Always a silver lining.
The Brown Shirts are the enemy of civilized society. And now they cry for safe places! Unbelievable. Oh, fact is stranger than fiction.

Paul, it’s simpler than that… the No on W campaign did a masterful job making it about a cute kid who needed his medicine. A W with hardship exemptions of the outside grow ban for just those sorts of cases might have had better luck.
I expected the outdoor grow ban was to make spotting illegal grows from the air that much easier… too bad, as permitting specific plot boundaries by WAAS GPS coordinates would make it quite easy to mark for air crews or mapping drones and avoid shoveling money for PG&E current to make up for what falls on the ground for free. Madness.LikeLike

Good rant Bill, its been a while. Thought you weren’t going to live up to your nickname.
Unfortunately its a relatively few violent protesters with their own personal agenda, yes maybe even a few radical Mexican nationalists. There are no Dem or progressive leaders encouraging the bad behavior by their own rhetoric. Nothing but comdemnation from every Democratic official I’ve seen. Good luck with the attempt to pin it on a political party or campaign. No one but Drumpf lemmings are buying it. Drumpf is partially responsible for that violence via his hateful rhetoric.LikeLike

Who won the Presidential election after the Democratic Party’s 1968 Convention?

-
The defeat of W also shows that Royal
s, and his foolish followers lies, were not believed by the majority of the voters. Claims of intimidation and fear, allegedly perceived by the “Silent Majority”, that Royal, Beason, Scofield, Miller, Weston and #7 out of 8
touted incessantly, never scared enough citizens to go against their first impression… and vote for this arrogant, uncompassionate attempt by county council to strip themselves of their own rights. Prohibition has never worked in the U.S. Royal and his followers are destined to soon be regulated to the dust bin of history. Good riddance.LikeLike

Oh yes, the events of 1968 are so similar to today. Actually I think the parties and cities understand a bit more about using technology to manage security 50 years later. But thanks for that fun theory. I’d be more worried about the Pubbers convention, inside the hall.

The Republican apathy towords Measure W is evidence enough that there is little opposition to well regulated growing in Nevada County.
Little opposition to well regulated growing? Does that mean before the new ordinance there was not enough regulation? Or are you saying we need more regulations?
Gregory is correct as usual. 6-12 outdoor plants will stick out like a sore thumb…emerald green is not hard to spot as the summer dries out the vegataion. Like shooting fish in a barrel. Just seeing one plant in the open is a justifiable reason to have the illegal grow ripped out and the owner cited and fined…big time. A true money maker for our County. That is fairly regulated situation, IMHO.
Gregory was right about the poster boy for growing outdoors….a true patient with a true need. How odd among the growers I must say. I don’t think Paul gives a hoot about legal or illegal, sick boys, or even legal recreational pot. He just wants the economic benefits to the County…er…the growers and is concerned about the liviihood of of his acquaintances. Just keep growing and growing, pun intended. Paul believes in trickle down economics. Learn something new everyday.
Yep, the boy’s father could have worked out a deal with the authorities or Sheriff….have a sit down face to face and do the blind eye thing off the record to help the boy. Lots of blind eye things go on if you aren’t a jerk and are respectful. The boy’s father could possibly be allowed to practice don’t ask, don’t tell after sipping a cup of Folgers with LE.
Yep, I remember those pictures of the little Syrian boy washed up on the Greek shore. Now, the social services of many Western European progressive democracies are stretched beyond their limits. Money set aside for citizens who fall on hard times now goes to immigrants…..but the cause was that little boy washing up on the rocks.
I remember those disturbing shocking pictures of starving abused children. We have to do something! This is not right. Perfect poster kids that led directly to Blackhawk Down. Those kids are no better off today than when we went to help…well, maybe better off now that they are armed to the teeth and get paid as junior soldiers. Poster boyz.LikeLike

Well, Mr. Dozer, we don’t see any Trump supporters blocking freeways, setting fires, smashing cop cars, pushing women down onto the unforgiving cruel concrete, now do we?
Yep, it’s Trump’s fault for having a crazy notion of “immigration, yes! illegal immigration, no!” Having a good orderly process and having control of our borders by land, sea, or plane is downright hateful. Figured you were one of those John Kerry Borderless Nations types. National Sovereignty is bad, One World gummit is good. Yeah, righttttt.
Just like we don’t see any Syrian or Iraqi Christians running around Europe raping 7-9 year old girls and grouping women on sight, now do we? You idea of hate speech is using the word “no”. Trump is a mean ole Daddy. Now eat your vegetables before dessert or else you will have more Chins that a Chinese phonebook…or a resturant taster/reviewer.
To show you how out of touch Nevada County democratic socialists are, Bernie carried Nevada County. Hillard stomped him 2/1 statewide. Yep, you guys are ahead of the curve. Don’t blame Democrats for violence, blame Trump because the Devil made them do it? Sounds about right coming from someone’s boy toy. Keep it coming Dozer. It’s Trump’s fault we did what we (and nobody else) did. We are not responsible and even if we were, we shall not be held accountable, right little buddy? We shall not be held accountable in our own eyes! It wasn’t us, it was them other dudes.

Bill T, June 9, 4:06 I am surprised at you for making assumptions about Forrest Hurd’s attempts to work out an exemption for his son. He tried everything. Patricia, I was referring to Mr. Hurd having a chat with LE. Now, I don’t know if Mr. Hurd lives in GV terroritory or Sheriff terroritory. Actually, Sheriffs like CHP patrol anywhere they please. But, with all my dealings with LE through the years, it’s always one to one speaking with the officer ( potentially arresting officer or citing officer) and it usually comes out with a mutual understanding. Like, are the Bears in the sky going to swoop down and land on his chicken coop for 3-4 plants? 8 plants? If they did he can explain his story and maybe promise to try to find another arrangement for the plants. Most likely they will tell him to keep a low profile and….opppps, gotta go, have another call. That is what I am yapping about. Forget the BOS. They can’t give one person a pass and not another person. That be politics. Forget them, their hands are tied. I am taking about one to one, eye to eye, face to face with the boots on the ground. How many cops have told someone to put the joint out and proceed like it’s too much a waste of time to deal with small peanuts when they “suspect” is sincere and honest. The first thing LE has to find out is if you are a good guy or a bad guy.
Ok, advice is cheap and I could be way off base. If, hypothetically, Mr. Hurd was tempted to go to any lengths to help his son (as I would for any child of mine), he could talk to some neighbors and explain that he is planning to grow some tomatoes against the side of the house. Any human being would be apt to be sympathic to his plight.
If it were I in the same circumstance, this is how it would go. I would talk to my closest neighbors, tell them what and why (as if they did not know) and just ask them to tell me if there is any problem and if so, please contact me first before calling LE. I would also make certain I had no firearms on the premises. LE loves it when you talk calmly to them and explain there are no firearms or threats against their safely here.
Heck, I don’t see why he just doesn’t grow and keep hum about it. Sure, it’s breaking the law, but with a good explanation of unusual circumstance before a judge, I have had the judge utter to the bailiff more than once “case dismissed” concerning moi, or “Bailiff, get this man out of here.” Be honest, sincere, respectful, and brief. They ain’t the enemy here.
Actually, Patricia, I feel uncomfortable yapping about somebody local whom I don’t know, albeit his name has been in the paper and on local radio several times.
I do wonder if you realize that you are about the only marihuana hoochie hoochie advocate that follows the law in letter and spirit. That letter and spirit of existing State law is solely for the advocacy of a patient who will be helped by grass because it can be cheaper than RX drugs, less side effects than RX, or works just as well if not better than RX drugs. You stand alone among many. Yes, I am sure there are more Patrica Smith’s out there, but you guys are the exception, not the rule.
I also wonder if you see the irony of those who want to grow and argue about County economic benefits, individual rights, property rights, what someone puts into their bodies rights…..all the arguments have nothing to do with the patient!! They are using you and bastardizing the spirit of the law for their own personal gain. Many of your allies could care less about you or the Hurd child as long as they can grow legally for money, money, money. A good supplemental source of income because food stamps and “disability” just don’t let one paint the town often enough. You are being used, but politics makes strange bedfellows. If this Hurd thing continues without any alternative solutions available, I will grow a plant and give it to him! I don’t grow or smoke the stuff, but last year I grew 4 plants with a BS script just to see if could. Call it curiosity. Too strong for me. I was flopping on the ground like fish out of water. I threw two plants in the burn pile, let one rot on the ground, and smoked some. It all came back why I stopped smoking dope 25 years ago. Not for me, that stuff is too potent. But, that is how I feel. I will plant one plant for Mr. Hurd for his son. Not for him, but his son if necessary. Let me know. Worse that can happen is they come out, pull the plant, and soil my impeccable reputation (like I give a darn) and shake me down for some money. Just like a scorned woman, lol.

Hey Bill, thanks for the clarification. Forrest actually reached out to Sheriff Royal on many occassions, but he didn’t respond. Sheriff Roysl went to every organization he could to denounce the Hurds struggle to get medicine for Silas. He said they were frauds and the Republican party leadership said some truly horrible things about this family. I think that is one reason Measure W was defeated because so many people thought the attacks on this family were heartless. We invited Sheriff Royal, the BoS, and the NCRP leadership to attend an event that explained why traditional medicine didn’t
work for children with intractable epilepsy and to watch a video of Silas’ downhill battle using conventional methods and his rapid improvement once we found the right strain that stopped his seizures. (A common misperception is that all cannabis is the same, it is not.) Not one of them showed up. You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink. Some people prefer to remain uninformed if the truth doesn’t jive with their beliefs. This is true on all sides by the way.LikeLike

Regarding Chicago ’68 and today, the Occupy Wall Street/Berners are a whole lot like the disaffected hard leftists of ’68, and the orchestrated announcement of Hillary’s coronation as the presumptive nominee the day before the last state primaries didn’t smooth things over… dirty tricks to the end.
Payback is a bitch.
Now we have local leftists (including a friend of mine who thought Bush II hated Saddam Hussein because Saddam was for women’s rights and universal healthcare) is taking Scott Adams’ writings literally (rather than veiled parody denigrations of the left) that because Trump is a Nazi and Nazi’s should have been taken care of before WWII, it’s time to rise up against Trump’s Brownshirts.

For that I unpublished his 732pm (accusing DonB of voting fraud) and 955pm but have not blocked him in the off chance that he has something relevant to say.

“Scientific” Paper Finds Liberals “Uncooperative, Hostile, Troublesome, Socially Withdrawn, Manipulative”

I’m sure we will hear a litany of complaints about this study….as opposed to the progressive happy dance when the results were directed at conservatives.LikeLike

Fish: They will do their happy dance only upon our graves. You can tell they were there by the smashed crosses and trash left behind. They don’t even recycle their plastic water bottles or even their coconut water or Guayaki Enlighten Mint aluminum cans. They be justified and thus absolved from their actions.
Hey, it’s just a few murderers and some Mexican Nationals that are shooting up the streets of Chicago and driving up the record murder rates in every Dem controlled city from sea to shining sea.. Good luck pinning that one on “progressives”. Heck, the Dems brought us the KKK and then try to pin it on us conservatives. Turning the page, they nowbring us Black Lives Matter. Go luck pinning that one on “progressives”.
Yep, they will get their happy dance if they could only not be so impatient.
Boy, the peaceful protestors sure could use some patience as well as manners. They need a good dose of the attitude of graditute.

The people committing the lifestyle mayhem and murder in the streets of American cities aren’t registered voting Americans.

Greg The Genius,
Where have actual, real Berners been drawing blood? I saw a bunch of angry young gang punks waving flags and looking for fights.LikeLike
