[Time for a new sandbox for the weekend. The old one required too much scrolling to get to the most recent stuff. Anybody willing to give any odds on the Comey Vote. Several of you are so sure that Hillary will pull it off that it seems you're willing to bet the ranch on it. I'm just wondering what kind of odds are all those sure-shots willing to give, or are we doomed to receive only repeats of their staid old verbiage? GJR]

BillT from the last sandpatch. You are such a good writer! Love your humor. Paul Emery for some reason cannot move past the the past on any issue. He still has BDS and grassy knoll fever. And he was a Measure S supporter and got whipped 70-30! I was off by seven.

Dr. Rebane. Tough question. My first reaction a year ago was no way Jose, not with this politicalized Justice Department with Obama’s thumb on the scale. Then after reading the statues, I thought the FBI will ironclad this case a dozen ways to Sunday and no way will Hillary skate. Then there is the fact that the Clinton Campaign is a political machine that has over several disciplined years has taken over every aspect and every establishment pol in the entire DNC. Obama is a Dem. His legacy. No way she is toast. It’s been a flip floppy road of yes, no, maybe, and swinging back and forth.
Listen to the latest spin. Even Sydney Bloomenthal boost of having inside info that Hillary will not be charged with anything. The rest of the spin is from the latest talking points. The word “intentionally” is the operate word now. She did not intentionally blah, blah, blah mishandle, delete, remove state secrets. She did not mean to do it. Ok, she admits she is incompetent. No argument here.
They are still denying this is a criminal investigation with the person of interest being one Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Another buzz phrase I am hearing everywhere is “As far as I was told….blah, blah, blah”. Example: yo Hillary, you are not a subject of a investigation. It’s just an in house State Department review.” Period. See, how they can say “As I have been told”
All that to say is they are getting nervous. Cheryl Mills, Huma, Kennedy, and the rest of the gang all have been interviewed and all have the same lawyer. They have compared notes and know what the FBI knows. Convention wisdom is the FBI does not ask one question of the targets that the Burueau’s agents and Justice’s lawyers do not already know the answer to. Thus, the new spin. Intentionally is Hillary’s defense, albeit it is not a defense in the Espionage Act. Gross negligence is the standard.
Bottom line, Right now I am back to leaning 65-35 for indictment. The FBI will nail her every which way but loose. But, but, but….its up to Justice to indict.
Put me done for a wobbly 65-35 for a grand jury to be convened.LikeLike

Todd, your link would not open. Is this the same info?

I don’t see any PACs there, only individuals.
If you look into Americans for Good Government you find this,
http://www.electiontrack.com/lookup.php?committee=1361127
AUBURN MANOR HOLDING CORPORATION, 4020 Sierra College Blvd, Rocklin, CA, gave the organization $20,000 a while back.
If you look up MARTIN HARMON and Auburn Manor, you find that they own the following,
http://www.westerncareconstruction.com/
http://www.teichert.com/
I cannot say why they donated to Americans for Good Government up here.
Auburn Manor Holding Company is a big political donor,

Interesting to note that most of their donations went to support Democratic candidates.LikeLike

Hey, anybody know what an ablist is. Whatever it is, it don’t sound very complimentary.
“Humanity is defined as the human race, and as such studies in humanity must be about human beings collectively,” they argue. “We are diverse, with many different life experiences, also shaped by colonization, U.S. and Western imperialism, neo-liberal politics, and oppression under racist, sexist, classist, heteronormative and homophobic, trans*phobic, queerphobic, ableist, nationalistic, xenophobic systems, which perpetuate conquest, genocide of indigenous peoples, and pervasive systemic inequities.”
So, what’s wrong with that?

BradC it is on the E
local elections website.
The issue is why do all these thousands of dollars from outside the county come in to Hall? What is it they want? I see Dozer and liberals always dissing “big money” from outside lobbyists as a bad thing and you must agree that is true. So, what do they want? Who are they? The donation to Strawser is all local and from your neighbors. Dozer is complaining all the time about “Citizens United” and we now have a great exmple with Hall and her donations. Yet since she is a liberal, Dozer stays quiet. Hypocrite Dozer.LikeLike

BradC, Martin Harmon owns a huge ranch in Nevada Couty. His son ran for Supervisor a few years ago. He is a very wealthy man. He likes property rights so naturally he would support Strawser over a person like Hall.
Here is the link to get into the portal. Then type in the name. A list comes up by date. Click on the Efile for it and you can read the donors for yourself. I hope I did this correctly

Ableist means looking down upon a cripple. Sorry Mr. Dozer, I had no idea. You are my equal despite all evidence to the contrary. I shan’t be an ableist no more. Did I speak slowly enough for you to understand or should I try my hand at sign language? No more being a snob and looking down my flared nostrils at you squirming in the Worm Farm compost. Oh, and here I was thinking “But for the grace of (trigger warning word), there go I.” What a elitist I turn out to be. What a hypocrite. This saddens the cockles of me weary hard. Alas.
I, too, am a emotional cripple for casting superior glances down upon my lowly friend, my equal. I repent. Oh, Mr. Dozer, let me wipe that piece of lettuce from your chin. And the Gerber’s while I am at it. It’s the least I can do for my suffering friend. Some just have a harder road to hoe. I feel your pain.
BTW, have you priced stocks for the public square lately. Amish make the best, but out of the budget. Hmm. Need to improvise. We intend to make you comfortable for the public viewing. Consider this in light of Uncle Joe and Fauxahountas Warren are back in the news. Uncle Joe promoting himself as the “Best President” and the fake Indian princes starting a Twitter War with Trump.
The American Thinker has proposed a novel theory regarding Clinton that takes into account her massive, ongoing unpopularity, as follows:
Secretary Clinton [may have] struck a bargain with the Obama White House that in return for bowing out at or near the convention, she will receive a full pardon in order to ensure that she will never see the inside of a prison cell.
She takes the slings and arrows, exhausting the opposition research budgets of Republican campaigns, leaving V.P. Biden and Sen. Warren largely immune from scrutiny during these long months of primaries and caucuses.
By the time she begs off the nomination, citing medical issues, the Republicans will have barely three months to investigate and counter the actual nominees, Biden and Warren.
Biden can pick up the Hillary voters and Warren the Burnie voters and ride a wave out of the Democrat Convention, and Hillary avoids going to jail with a pardon. It would have to be pardon, or Trump will put her in jail when he wins. He may not win if Biden and Warren run as a team.LikeLike

Walt @ 6:44 pm. Good job. Boy, you hung in there and overcame. When one of us suffers (like Mr. Dozer), we all suffer. When one of us excels (like Mr. Walt), we all rejoice. Clue the celestial choir!
I was wondering when you would get back. Mr. Dozer has been moping around here like a love sick school girl since you got busy with more important stuff. Embarrassing. I tried to keep him occupied, but I fear he is sweet on you. It should lift his spirits now that it’s your turn to babysit.
I ain’t changing his diaper either. First, he wears Depends, not a diaper. He thinks he is an adult now, so grown up boys don’t wear diapers (as told to him by his crazy Aunt Sybil in his playroom in the attic). Second, have you ever seen what those monkeys do at the zoo? Yep, they reach back and pinch a loaf and fling it at the spectators. Caution if you plan to get close to his cage….keep the brain bucket on and a face shield if you catch my drift. Do not approach his cage unless you are into that sort of thing. Boy, I thought we left them screaming monkeys back in SE Asia.
However, if in a moment of weakness or downright pity for the unfortunate, you may have the urge to replace his diaper. Keep you wits about you and change the diaper from Its current location and change it to the top of his head.to his head. It will be a perfect fit. The two will become good friends.
Enough of dwelling on the poo flinger. Like a bad rash he will hang around. He is so lonesome for some bromance. Your turn in the penalty box. I need a break.
Moving forward!

The word denial keeps popping up. Odd. Maybe it this month’s buzzword. My Gal (she) should of running unopposed by now.
“The fact that she’s not in such a position, and that her race for the Democratic nomination continues to be pestered by an old lefty who has served three decades in politics without even registering as a Democrat, should be a grave concern for her and her supporters. Although her credentials are strong, her candidacy isn’t—and blaming that on Sanders would be nothing but a form of denial”. Salon.LikeLike

Unfortunately, I am 100% sure Hilliary will get the Democratic nomination because the system is rigged in her favor. There is a revolution taking place inside the Dem Party that isn’t getting any press, but I believe they are ready to splinter worse than the Repubs are over Trump. This is certainly the year for a third party candidate.
I also predict she will not get indicted for the emails regardless if she should be. The Clintons seem to be lined with teflon.
I don’t konw how to post something from FB to a blog, but if you can bring yourselves to visit the NC dems FB page, there is a video from the Nevada caucus of the rigged system that threw the delegates to Hilliary. It is truly shameful to witness something like this happening in America. We would be screaming our heads off if this took place in another country.LikeLike

PatriciaS & BradC – For some years RR has been arguing the benefits of a four party system that added the libertarian and progressive parties to the more traditional Repubs and Dems, the latter remaining the center right and left parties respectively. What are your opinions of the benefits/problems of such a new structure of America’s political scene?

DrR@144pm – A 3 party election just messes up that party with the two similar candidates. Yes, I think a 4 party system of any political persuasion would be an improvement. I have also been a fan of Instant Runoff Voting. IRV would work well with 4 (or even 3) candidates.
You would choose your first and second (maybe even 3rd and 4th) choice candidates. If your first candidate was not doing as well as your second choice, your vote would be applied to the second candidate, etc.LikeLike

Phew. Hard to keep up. Just when I could see the light at the end of the tunnel, another PC Bozo No-No hits the scene. Guess we got to strike any part of the application that bears the ugly word “criminal”, as in the part called f criminal background, felonies, and discriminatory nouns like that.
I guess that means My Gal is merely Justice Involved. There is that “I” word again. DNC Debbi had to say “I Word” on the air and refused to call it an investigation. She said “Inquiry, or one of those those other “I words, whichever one you pick.” Unfortunately, the reporter preferred the Investigation I word. Both were wrong. It’s Justice Involved….hey, contains an I word also. What was wrong with good ole Jail Bird?

re adding political parties to the current mix – I don’t see the point. As long as the voting public remains Gruberized, they’ll vote for the same ol’ same ol’. Free stuff, have some one else pay for it and nothing is my fault.
That, unfortunately, is the voting bloc that determines our nation’s future. And the govt is making sure the govt schools turn out more of the same and is flooding our country with millions more.
Why would adding a political party (of any persuasion) that appeals to a minority of voters be of any help with this mess. Our nation’s founders had in mind an educated, freedom loving and self reliant citizen when laying down the foundation of our country’s govt.
There’s no law stopping the formation of other political parties. The established leaders of the Ds and the Rs are reeling right now with the rise of Bernie and The Donald. Both of these upstarts are correct in that the public is not well served by the current crop of so-called leaders. Beyond that, both Bernie and Trump have nothing to offer that will make anything better. Because they are playing to the same electorate that put into place our current bunch of losers. Suppose Bernie and Donald were running as candidates for, say, the Socialist and Whig parties.
Hillary would still lead in the polls as most all major social and news media cover for her and push her as the best candidate.
When addressing a problem, I start at the root cause. And if necessary, I will drill down deeper. Surface issues and symptoms of problems are merely pointers to what is really wrong.LikeLike
-
George, I rather favor a 3 party system, but a 4 party system would be my next choice. As i see it, a 3 party system would be in flux from election to election and pull segments from both parties that were dissatisfied with the Establishment parties choices. It would force both parties to let the process determine the winner rather than preordaining the nominee and demanding we get on board.
While I can’t bring myself to vote for Trump, I do not want Hilliary to win either. I plan to write in Bernie, vote Green, or not vote for anyone for President. I didn’t cast a vote for Pres in 2012 either. Until they give me a candidate I can vote for without holding my nose, I will not support their corrupt system.LikeLike

” I plan to write in Bernie, vote Green, or not vote for anyone for President. I didn’t cast a vote for Pres in 2012 either.”
And that’s what the establishment is hoping for. Marginalize you off to the side and get you to not even vote. How does that help?
If everyone who did not vote for pres in 2012 voted for the person of their choice, it would have been earth shaking.
So go ahead and give up. Just don’t expect any respect or sympathy from me.LikeLike

“Voters Hate The Establishment,…”
Yet they voted them in and continue to vote for them.
Seems to me the ‘voters’ don’t have a freaking clue what they’re doing and rather than reflect on their poor past choices, they lash out and blame ‘the establishment’ for doing exactly what the establishment has been doing for decades and promises to do forever.
Obama complained about our debt and then promptly ran it even higher – the voters rewarded him with another term. And the Rs go right along with this debacle.
Sorry – Hills the shoe-in at this point.
That could change – hell, anything is possible these days.
Biden is starting to look good. A fumbling ignoramus too inept to cause too much trouble.LikeLike

Boy, this makes politics look like a sewing circle. Lefty goons had the law on there side.
“Rose filed charges against a business agent of Ironworkers Local 401 in 2013 after she said he had followed her into a restaurant near her work, pushed her against a counter, pressed his body up against her and called her a “cunt,” according to November 2013 municipal court records of the case.
Later that same day, she told the court, that same union member followed her car, mimicked a gun with his hand, pointed it her and mouthed “bang, bang, bang.”
Municipal Judge Charles Hayden ruled that these acts did “not rise to the level of a crime,” agreeing with the union lawyer’s argument that “this has been about a labor dispute. It’s about union and nonunion.” Under Pennsylvania law at the time, union members were exempted from being charged with stalking, harassment or threatening to use weapons of mass destruction if they acted in connection with a labor dispute.
Yep, that was way back in 2013, lol. A lot worse now with the drones.

P Smith at 9:31 – That’s a false choice. Is writing in a candidate of your choice too hard for you? Too much hassle? Thousands died so you could vote and you choose not too because your fave isn’t already printed on the ballot.
Crabb at 10:48 – I did qualify that statement – ‘starting to look good’. Inbreeding got nuttin’ to do with it. It’s just that the American voting public are too lazy and ill-informed to want honest, qualified representatives as solons and a humble president who will be an administrator of the law.
They want a mommy govt to tell them how to live and wipe their butts and noses and give them a lolly pop when they fall down and cry.
The original idea was to have a govt that served the people. That’s gone. It was just too much hassle and responsibility, apparently. Oh, well – we were warned this would happen. Now the govt gets to ‘progress’ past all of those stupid words in the Constitution and really do it’s thing.LikeLike

Oh, lest I be amiss, a shout out to Don B, Patricia S, and Paul E. for getting together on the air tonight to discuss a contentious local issue. Great job Paul for working behind the scenes to pull this off. Now, y’all behave yourselves and put your best foot forward. Paul always behaves himself on th air, but I don’t know about the other two malcontents. :).

“You would choose your first and second (maybe even 3rd and 4th) choice candidates. If your first candidate was not doing as well as your second choice, your vote would be applied to the second candidate, etc.”
Well, that is what we have now by default in the Establishment and won’t make anyone happy. Say I am a rabid Betnie Bro and hate My Gal. So, I vote for Bernie, he slips, and my vote is applied to Ms. “What? You mean wipe the server with a cloth?” Clinton? That would cause another temper tantrum akin to last weekend’s Nevada Democrat State Convention in Vega. No one except the winner would like that idea.
Whatever happened in Vegas did not stay in Vegas, but I digress. Politics is like a courtroom or sporting event. There will be winners and losers. The losers will always be unhappy. Winners will always be happy. Nobody mentions the losers of The World Series after a few weeks. The winners are placed into time immortal.
We need 4 distinct parties, not 2 also-rans under the umbrella of the current Big Boyz.LikeLike

Scott O, put on your glasses. I wrote that I planned to write in Bernie this time. I didn’t have a dog in the race in 2012 so I chose not to write in a candidate. I can’t wait for June 8th when I can reregister as a “decline to state.”
BTW, the SacBee is doing a front page story on Silas Hurd that will run in next Sunday’s paper. I hope you all will read it because the author spent months researching our cannabis issues for several months. He spoke to many people including Sheriff Royal to try to see this issue from all angles. It will be interesting to see how a neutral outsider views our county’s efforts. I don’t even know how the story will slant, but i expect it will support the Hurd’s battle to treat
their son.LikeLike

My glasses are fine, Patricia – “I didn’t cast a vote for Pres in 2012 either.”
Maybe you need to stop doing something that seems to impair your memory.
Now you’re trying to say that you couldn’t think of a single qualified candidate in 2012? Not one single person? Really?LikeLike

This article is way too prejudicial to the “Thought Leaders” who virtue signal towards the unwashed by driving Elons offerings…….I think a stern talking to to those at the Mercury News is in order. Might make jons “Progressive Twist” a even more difficult dance than it already is.
