Islamophobia is ill-defined as an unreasonable fear of global Islamism. RR has maintained for years that we are in a renewed war between civilizations – Islam vs the west (or Christianity as they see it).  The west’s Left has identified Islamophobia as a racist reaction by the western Christians.  In the last two years more and more western commentators have begun to agree that the current conflict is much bigger than the ‘war against terror’ caused by western imperialism or bad economies in Muslim countries.  The most recent to expound on the realities facing the west is Scott Richert, executive editor of The Chronicles, in his very readable ‘Thoroughly Modern Muslims’.

Putin will move on the Baltics before Obama leaves office. I make this a high likelihood given the spineless foreign policy of the Obama administration and our president’s patently erroneous calls on the world’s reaction to forcing the US to lead from behind.

The Iranian mullahs will roll up our much celebrated ‘nuclear deal’ into a tight cylinder and tell Obama where to shove it as soon as they get their hands on a sufficient amount of their $100B+ that our president agreed to let them have for reasons which the world to this day has no idea about.

The FBI will find Hillary culpable for unending security violations concerning her private email server and the emails which she claims she didn’t know were classified because they were not so marked. Since AG Lynch will not prosecute Hillary, FBI Director Comey will resign, and that will start others to discover their own reasons for principled resignations.

[4jan16 update] Am told that the local Left still does not get the purpose of the Second Amendment in its high disapproval of the recent NC Tea Party raffle of an AR-15.  They do not understand the comprehensive statement about our times that such a gun makes when included in their fundraiser.  Some of the ignorant continue to believe that the Second was all about duck hunting.

Women STEM graduates are lagging men, and something must be done. The blame game is in full swing to satisfy the quota shortfall watchdogs.  I am still amazed that anyone can take still elevate this into a social problem after all the female specific programs launched in recent years to get girls interested in STEM careers.  Maybe there are some intrinsic differences in the sexes, or is that also beyond debate – who knows?  (more here)

[5jan16 update] In the sheeple department I am reminded again how government raises the tax burden unbeknownst to the consumer by continually convincing them that business taxes will be raised as opposed to personal income taxes.  The poor schlub, usually voting the Democrat ticket, believes what he hears and does not even murmur that business taxes are just another ‘invisible’ tax burden that he must bear.  He cannot be taught that businesses pay no taxes.  To business tax is just another expense that is used to justify higher prices to the consumer of their products and services.  Since all businesses have to pay the taxes (at least the ones without clever tax lawyers, accountants, and lobbyists), they all raise prices in concert.  The alternative is to go out of business, which also happens while progressives continue to trumpet that tax rates do not affect business behavior.  These thoughts reprised as I was doing some family portfolio work this morning.

Islam's history of contemporary colonization is documented in detail by Dr Peter Hammond in his Slavery, Terrorism and Islam: The Historical Roots and Contemporary Threat.  A synopsis was sent to me by a correspondent.  I am too lazy to reformat the email, but do consider its content important to understanding our continuing study of Islam.  So I just uploaded a pdf of it which you can access here - Download DrPeterHammond.

[6jan16 update] Crocodile tears from the consummately compassionate community organizer yesterday as he desperately seeks to divert national attention from a long limping economy, disastrous foreign policy, and growing Islamist attacks and assaults in the heartlands (including our own) of the west.  Imposing further restrictions on exercising Second Amendment rights, restrictions totally irrelevant to the carefully induced tears, signals the eight years’ failure of this presidency.  Not to be outdone, CA’s idiot voters have populated Sacramento with calamitously corrupt politicians who have passed another law now making it a crime for CCW permit holders to carry on the state’s college campuses.  It is hard to conceive of a dumber response to the insane or the terrorists who are invited to slaughter where assuredly unarmed sheep assemble. Wow Dr. Rebane. Glad to see ya quit beating about the bush. New Years Evil. I will save the poor reader and just touch on the last item, aka Hillary.
Does the reader know the FBI process in its investigation into high profile cases? After having its various agents put its feelers out, all the division heads that may be involved have a nice pow wow. They throw out what they found so far and discuss if an criminal investigation is warranted based on the evidence so far. Then they go around in a circle and say “nay or yea” if the preliminary investigation suggests strongly that indeed a full criminal investigation should proceed. It’s not political, it’s just plain old detective work.
In Hillary’s case, the FBI was in full agreement. All the FBI can do at the end of the day is forward its recommendations of prosecutions to Loretta Lynch.
So far in the Obama Administration, the Justice Department is where FBI criminal recommendations of the Administration go to die.

Who would have thought that jobs widows and orphans would behave so badly?

“We then walked through this group of men. There was an alley through [the men] which we walked through. Suddenly I felt a hand on my buttocks, then on my breasts, in the end, I was groped everywhere. It was a nightmare. Although we shouted and beat them, the guys did not stop. I was desperate and think I was touched around 100 times in the 200 meters.
“Fortunately I wore a jacket and trousers. a skirt would probably have been torn away from me”.
As Katja L and other witnesses who have since come forward said, as they were molested by the gang the men were laughing and pulling their hair, and there were shouts of “ficki, ficki” (fucky fucky) hurled at them as they were called “sluts”. Treating her as “fair game”, there had been so many men groping at her Katja L said she would be unable to positively identify any of the perpetrators to the police.

fish 1028am – so where are our ever-vigilant (yellow?) journalists to let the world know of how these cultures are interacting on the main streets of Europe? The silence of progressive government sleazebags is understandable, but the job of the Fourth Estate is to inform us of such happenings. Can you imagine the coverage from these same lamestream stalwarts if Europeans were to reciprocate on burka clad ladies of Islam?

GeorgeB 1201pm – the ‘military kids’ report is understandable since the progressive press is no fan of the country’s mostly Republican voting armed forces, or the projection of power which a strong military enables/supports. Am not sure of your SacBee citation since I’m not a subscriber. Would appreciate a synopsis.

Open your browser in “private” or “incognito” mode. You will then be able to bypass the paywall of most newspapers including the Bee. On papers with limited views per month (such as the NYT), simply delete their cookies and read on. Not saying that I would ever do this under any circumstance, but . . .

    Re Dr. R’s 12:24:
Does the press’ alleged antagonism toward the military mean the story is not true? Am I free to dismiss any anti-union story done by Fox News because of the network’s obvious bias toward such organizations?
The Sac Bee’s Sunday edition carried a page one article from the New York Times on the sexual abuse female refugees from the Middle East have to endure while fleeing to Europe. Similar articles have appeared in the Washington Post and other of your so-called “yellow” newspapers.
But I will give you credit for understanding what I wrote. That’s more than I can say for Pelline, who either misunderstood or deliberately tried to suggest that I cited The Bee as an example of “yellow” journalism. Naturally, he didn’t bother to mention my reference to the Yahoo story.

Well, this precise topic is not listed in Ruminations, but close enough. The balance of power in the Middle East.
Some facts to ponder: 85% of the world’s Muslims are Sunni. 90% of Iranians are Shiite. Iran and Iraq are the big ones concerning Shitite large majorities. Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Eypyt are the biggies with majority Sunnis.
The Shiites have Imanns that are the political and spiritual leaders. The Sunni mosque big wigs are seen as community leaders. So, what is the point??
The point being whether Putin starts retaking countries of the former USSR or not, he will walk into this US caused power vacuum and appear like Kissinger. Heck, might was well give him a Nobel Peace Prize now. There is only one United States and we have proven to be an ally’s worse nightmare. Who cares about Ukraine anyway, anymore, anyhow?

It’s an interesting question. I dug around what are considered left of center German newspapers about the recent festivities in Cologne, and they do seem to be fairly straightforward in terms of who the perps were. (www.taz.de for one). It’s not a bad litmus test, although I’m not seeing any mention of the riot in Huffington or Salon.

I think we are seeing the unraveling of the Republican Party. Party loyalists are heading for the bomb shelter if Trump or Cruz get the nominations. Their thin Senate majority depends on holding on to some very moderate candidates such as Rob Portman from Ohio. Here’s a sample from Politico:
““Trump and Cruz are worrisome to most Republican candidates for governor, senator and Congress,” said Curt Anderson, a longtime GOP strategist and former Republican National Committee political director. “Some will say they are not worried, but they are.”
    Read more: http://www.politico.com/story/2016/01/donald-trump-ted-cruz-gop-fear-217345#ixzz3wPVumoZn
“At some point, we have to deal with the fact that there are at least two candidates who could utterly destroy the Republican bench for a generation if they became the nominee,” said Josh Holmes, a former chief of staff to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. “We’d be hard-pressed to elect a Republican dogcatcher north of the Mason-Dixon or west of the Mississippi.”

“Candidates will need to develop their own brand,” said Pennsylvania Rep. Charlie Dent, a Republican who has represented a swing district in Lehigh Valley since 2004. “A candidate will need to run his or her own campaign and distance themselves from the top of the ticket.”
Among the tricky questions candidates will be forced to consider: whether it’s worth endorsing either potential nominee

And when the R’s get into some introspective debate and have numerous candidates of different views, the PE’s of the world are gleeful at their supposed “breakup”. You just can’t fix stupid I guess.

    Good Doctor George @ 10:50.
I dunno. It has occurred to me that Europe is trying to thread a very tight needle. Of course the news black out doesn’t help, as in some Euro countries it is against many laws to report the ethic orgin or religion of criminals. The tight needle is to say it isn’t the new refugees that should be lumped together the criminal activities of the lawless Islamic communities of Europe. It’s that ones that been here for awhile, not the newbees, duh.
The “shock” in Germany is a good example. It’s not the Islamics doing the feeling up and molesting of innocent women at train stations, it’s people from North Africa. You know, those countries on the southern coast of the Mediterranean, not the refugees. I get it.
The link Fish provided took me to another link of a 13 year old German girl that was raped in June while her hapless parents where restrained and unable to help their child by a group of non German speaking people from North America, i.e., read Morocco or Libya. It just came out this week. It also came out 7 months later because German police sat on it for fear of right wing backlash, read not fitting into the narrative.
Yep, news blackouts are boring news. Nothing to see here

Walt @ 1223 , President Bubba is not a womanizer, he is a sexual predator. Big difference. But, what a great move by Trump. He stole Hillary’s mantra she has been spouting since 2008. The mantra that she is on the side of victimized women. She is their voice and Lord only knows how much she needs the women’s vote to win. Trump just ripped her scripted speeches to shreds. Fantasist move to be studied by future Political Science majors for years to come.
Walt, I was wrong. Yes, I admit my error which has been bothering me. I posted awhile back about cheering that Trump was giving the Rhinos and PC police a bloody nose. My error was saying “sometimes he throws the first punch”. Not true. I was wrong.
Trump is a gentleman until attacked. I reflect over his many “coarse statements” and everyone was in response to an attack, from Ugly Rosie to Jeb to Marco to Hillary saying his use of schlong was anti-women. Noticed he leaves Cruz alone as long as he behaves himself. And what is this talk about a wide spread deep support from Reagon Democrats? Even James the Ragin’ Cajun Carville said Sunday that Trumps support is deep, way deep. Alas, the end of the Republican Party as we know it.
Hillary has raised the white flag. She knows better to open her mouth or else The Donald will tear her a new one and expose her for what she has done when the rubber meets the road. She can’t take him on anymore. The price she pays is just too high. Is Hillary is a pragmatic politician after all?
