[Well, that was quite an episode in the last sandbox that I hope has run its course, or at least not let that thread of ad hominem exchanges leak out. I see that Sen Ted Cruz will throw his hat in the ring tomorrow, NATO's chief sees continued expansion from Putin that may get out of hand, and Bibi is keeping his powder dry re the farcical negotiations going on with Iran. And our own Bob Crabb is celebrating that Spring has sprung with a change in the business climate hereabouts. gjr]

….waiting for the outrage….”
If ‘natural born’ means ‘a US citizen at time of birth’ (an arguable point in these fringe cases), it all boils down to the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952. There’s plenty of websites that spell out the gory details.
Ann Dunham sounds like a piece of work, so at this point I’d say that the details of Obama’s early life could be just about anything.
Hopefully Cruz (and any other candidate) doesn’t have top secret school records and test scores. The ability of the powerful to scrub the backgrounds of people running for office would do the photo retouchers of the USSR proud.

Agreed Paul. The more entertainment value guys like this provide with their wacked out discussions at the debates, the better! Everyone will be trying to prove who can cut the most social benefits, at the same time kissing up to evangelicals to show who has the most cred as a True Christian.
Most of America will be entertained and cringing in equal parts.

Just why in Hell should the American people elect another Progressive for President, or any other elected office? ( Reminder.. LIBS have had the butt handed to them in the last three)
The damage that the Left has done to this nation has been astronomical. From job decimation , record numbers on food stamps, record debt, illegals get free run of the place, now allowing Iran to have nukes. Yup,, great job in foreign affairs.
This administration has allowed more secrets to fall into enemy hands since Bill Clinton gave missile tech to China. ( Recall that stealth drone that got snagged?)
Furthermore,, Glen Beck sure called it when he predicted the burning of the Middle East.
He was so damned right.
I do believe the American people are done with LIBS for a LONG time to come.

Rubio is a twerp that won’t wear well with repeated exposure. That clears the field for Bush and to a lesser extent Walker leaving TV preacher Mike Huckabee and fallen boy wonder Rick Santorum to fight over the Bible Thumper scraps. Christie is already down for the count because of his abrasive personality and questionable associates.
Lindsay Graham is an intriguing possibility but that’s about it.

Walt, I guess my advice to stick to the topic at hand isn’t sinking in with you.
To correct your election statements, in 2012 the Dems WON more 1.5 MILLION more votes in House election and widened their Senate majority by 2 seats. Obama received 5 MILLION more votes than Mr. Romney. Maybe you can explain these facts vs. your proposition. Or do you really care that you just spout gibberish?

Paul, agree with almost all of that. Wonder when conservatives are going to realize you cannot win by cowtowing 100% to the religious right. Rubio has flipped and flopped all over the board. Not ready for prime time..is being kind. Also, the Bushies are going to pound hard with money and elbows on young Marco, who they feel has betrayed his mentor, the Bush Boy Who Would Be President (ie Jeb). Would love to see a Hawkish Wing take flight in the primary and see if anyone has the honesty to propose a national draft.

One would think that with a resume in the tech industry as extensive as yours that you would have run into the concept of “blog handles” before. I may be incorrect in my assumption and that because you probably spent as much or more time fetching coffee for the CNet guys as you did for Herb Caen that that kept you away from exposure to the real world and you missed it.
You “outed” me…what over a year ago…..and yet here we are. I post as ‘fish’ because it’s what I’m used to at this point.
I find the above exchange funnier still given the number of times porcine has been busted posting under a fake name……Gloria Zane, Bruiser, Annie Fox……I think this threads “jon” is likely the “Flabby Conscience of the Sierras” as well.
There was also some concern that given your neighbors inclination to threaten lawsuits, waddle off to the sheriff to tell on people, or call Homeland Security because certain people don’t seem patriotic enough that using my real name might potentially cause some blowback at work. Given todays revelations about the DEA hooker scandal I needn’t have worried. In fact I’m beginning to think that I could sacrifice a newborn baby on my supervisors desk and as long as all the paperwork was in order there wouldn’t be any repercussions.

Purest professional cowardice.
When you work for large multinationals (like me), even defense contractors (like me), the ability to commit job suicide is a real risk in this era. It would be easy to exude a phrase on a political website that would present ideal catnip for a zealous HR department, regardless of how provably true the opinion might be.
If you stick to center-left ideas, or are retired/self employed/chronically unemployed, the world is a different place. For the foreseeable future, everyone else should lay a little low. Identities are a matter for the writer and Bluffdale.

Runs on fat, both consumed and accumulated just fine. Obesity wasn’t nearly the epidemic it currently is prior to the endorsement of sugars/carbohydrates as the largest percentage of ones daily calorie intake.

MY take on “epidemic” of “fat kids”, is the fact that they are glued to the boob tube, and no exercise. Thumbs on a PlayStation controller most of the day has plenty to do with it.
Now we can’t pry their digital life support system from their paws. (smart phone)
Seems some don’t even want to take responsibility for their own kids. They want government to do the work. If you don’t want them to eat or drink “X”,, don’t let’m. Instead, demand government “ban” or “outlaw” said product of food.
OK Adults,, what’s YOUR excuse for your extra tonnage? You are supposed to have the smarts to know what to eat.. But use the excuse of a “medical condition”.. That always works.

Execution by the overdose of the drug the dealers are pushing on kids. Great idea. I actually would rather see it done by firing squad. That is how the Chinese kill theirs.
