Associated Press again puts the ‘lame’ into lamestream media in its ‘A look at all that Benghazi stands for’.  In this extended article the leftwing news organization presents its summary of the Benghazi Bamboozle, news developments that it has studiously ignored or minimized since the 2012 terrorist attack took place.  But even a casual read of the piece exposes the immense holes in the perfidious timeline that have been thinly papered over.  The piece is a blatant whitewash of the administration that needs to be put out there now that the House is assembling a select committee to finally dig out the facts behind the cover-up that Team Obama has been carefully constructing for the last two years.  AP’s power through such reportage is that the Left and information-lite hordes are seldom exposed to news from the conservative or Right side.

NewMarxismAnd speaking of asymmetric communications, the recent spate of college commencement cancellations of politically incorrect speaker invitees highlights the now established truth that our formerly liberal free-thinking academia has become the most illiberal forum for free speech and thought.  The nation’s colleges and universities in the aggregate are little more than leftwing propaganda outlets, especially in their humanities departments, firmly on the road to reinventing Marxism (more here) as the foundation of choice for a socially just world, equalizing wealth and income, creating a sustainable earth free of AGW, and preventing the heartbreak of psoriasis.  For an excellent view of how the Left one-sidedly attempts to silence the Right, take a look ‘The Closing of the Collegiate Mind’ by Harvard professor Ruth Wisse, who makes the case in the 12may14 WSJ that “opponents of free speech have chalked up many campus victories lately as ideological conformity marches on.”

In the same vein Nevada County’s local leftwing brain trust continues to call for the silencing of conservative voices in our local newspapers and on local airwaves (RR readers know that I too am a burr under their blankets and a longtime yet proud target of such wailing).  Our designated reader just emailed me the latest blast from self-declared, fair-minded ideologues who have not changed their stripes since they first hauled wrong thinking people to the guillotine in the 1790s.

Silencing opposition is just one of the many elements of the ongoing progressive pogrom advancing at full speed in California.  Nevada County’s latest casualty is another manufacturer – a ‘green company’ no less – hightailing it for Texas.  The 12may14 Union reports that KACO New Energy, maker of inverters for photovoltaic arrays, is prudently citing geography as the reason it is pulling up stakes and relocating to San Antonio.  Of course, none of this is felt in Sacramento as long the the lamestream keeps painting sunshine and roses on the foreheads of all those independent and middle road Californians.

[14may14 update]  Warren Buffett has pumped more than $1.2B to support abortion and government programs to subsidize such takings of life.  This little revelation came to us through the chorus of lamestream crickets and Fox News.  Arguments pro and con for abortion aside, the issue remains a hot button in American politics which explains the cricket chorus.  But to underline the point that those who trust and limit themselves to the lamestream have no clue about a large part of the goings on in our land.  Into the same bucket we can throw the lamestream lauded $100M+ contributions of liberal billionaire Thomas Steyer who backs Democrats, especially those having signed up for draconian measures to combat AGW – remember ‘the debate is over’.  Instead, the asymmetry of liberal ‘journalism’ is again underlined by the blatantly false lies trumpeted about the Koch brothers relatively minor contributions to conservative causes.

Wonder if this has anything to do with KACO New Energy company moving to Texas?
Chief Executive Magazine Issues 2014 State Biz Climate Rankings
In its latest survey, Chief Executive magazine again ranked Texas the best state for business, followed by Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina.
I’ve publicly predicted that the survey would rank California the worst state for business for the 10th year in a row because of what has been happening with tax increases and more employer-unfriendly labor laws. Out-of-control public pension obligations are also a concern because they represent “tax increases in waiting.”
Well, that 10-year mark is exactly what happened. So, again, California ranks 50th. Rounding out the bottom five are New York, Illinois, New Jersey and Massachusetts.

    More HERE.

Mr. Steele: I do have to wonder when Illinois will take over CA’s bottom ranking and we can all shout that we Beat Chicago, a boast long in coming. Of course, if you read Illinois blogs, Chicago is a dirty stinkin word to most residents from the Land of Lincoln. This rural state (no kidding) does indeed feel alienated from having a voice in the Chicago dominated Legislature, which raises state income taxes to pay for the East Side’s pensions and social services at a rate of 33%-60%, seemingly without ever having to say they are sorry coupled with no end to future tax increases in sight. Its for the little undereducated gang bangers, their Sugar Mommas and their unlucky offspring. No wonder a majority of Chicago’s finest teachers have their own children enrolled in non public schools. Must be something in the water in the Great Lakes that causes bullies and morons to gravitate there.
Good thing the majority of ALL counties across the fruited plain do not feel alienated from having a heard voice in their respected State Legislatures. Yea, right. It can’t happen here, can it?
Somewhere right now in rural America (be it in Illinois or rural California), there is a growing cry to Beat Chicago.

Finally, a green machine with common sense…er…survival instincts. Fight or flee. Better to be on the green side of the grass than using a step ladder to push up daisies. No doubt the mean green sustainable machine saw all the green lights between here and Texas and took the fast lane out of Dodge.
San Antonio has changed through the years and is actually an attractive town. The canals, the jogging paths downtown and the river running through it. Don’t forget the Spurs. Just hop on the freeway and head up to Austin if one gets homesick for the lib street scene. We elitists simply can’t complete with housing, less business regs (way, way, way less), lower taxes, largest capital dome outside of Washington DC (built by prison labor) and lest we forget, blue bonnets and yellow roses blooming soon. Not too far from the Gulf either. Boy, imagine a State next to the a great body of water that isn’t ruined by libs and a State legislature that has most of its head screwed on right. What can we offer? A look but don’t touch scenario? California is becoming like an overpriced peep show with Bertha behind the glass.

The left will never, never, never own up to what happened in Benghazi or how the admin lied about it. The latest proof is Mz Clift – Stevens wasn’t murdered. You got it – he wasn’t murdered. It was either legal or accidental, take your pick. Total insanity.

Yeah well that is just stupid of Ms. Clift. One can argue about the ’cause’ of the terrorist attack, but an attack it was, and a death resulting is a murder, pure and simple.

It was a planned terrorist attack, Steve. There was absolutely no evidence of a ‘demonstration’. Why don’t you believe the folks that lived in the area or the folks in the compound being attacked. The Brits had already been driven from the area by the same group. There is no evidence of a spontaneous demonstration beyond what Obama and Hilary came up with. There were spotters and mortar rounds coming in. What ‘spontaneous protest demonstrations’ have you been to that had mortar rounds coming in? The folks in the compound were in real time phone contact and they said nothing about any ‘protests’. But Steve wants to argue with them. They were only there but Steve knows better. You go, Steve! Mz Clift is not the only one being stupid. Keep drinking the Kool Aid – soon, all will be well. I had to put up with apologists like Steve during the Watergate nonsense. Now Steve and the left are scouring the old archives for quotes from Nixon bootlickers and learning what to say. What they should learn is that the cover up is the worst thing to do.

Jeez, what the hell is it with you guys? I state that Clift’s statement was BS and you are going after me?
Just keep crying Benghazi and see how all ya’all get punished by the American people.
By the way, this remains perhaps the best investigative report into what happened in Benghazi and the one most supported by the facts that came out during the 10 investigations so far conducted into the attack and response.

This Benghazi dark episode is being ridiculed by every noble leader of the Democratic Party as “a stunt.”
Well, this stunt came home to me the other day when I was visiting a family in Grass Valley. On the wall were old photographs of the now adult children and family. In one photo two young men had their arms around each others’ shoulder grinning broadly at the camera. The picture was of one of the family’s sons and the other young man in the photo was…was future Ambassador Chris Stevens. The two were best friends growing up and Chris played in the backyard with the family’s son on many occasions. Considered a member of the family according to a daughter.
Did not think it would be appropriate to tell the Dad (retired Air Force) nor his siblings that any inquiry into Chris’s death is just a stunt per the Senate Majority leader, The House Minority leader, and the head of the DNC. Nor did I feel it was appropriate to quote the former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s conciliatory words “What difference does it make?” with shrieked voice.
It is wise to put a face on it to bring it all into perspective.

Apparently not able to read what you had just written –
“One can argue about the ’cause’ of the terrorist attack….”
Or are you going to claim you didn’t post that, Steve?
Then Steve really goes where the left goes – fantasy land:
“Oh, and my guess is that at the time of Watergate your nose was probably so far up Richard Nixon’s ass that you were frenching Chuck Colson.”
Well – totally wrong, Steve – but that’s familiar territory for you.
Care to apologize for making up something about me you know nothing about?
I never cared for Nixon and smelled a rat throughout the whole Watergate mess. The smartest men in the world all testifying that they couldn’t remember anything and couldn’t recall a single detail. And Rose Mary Woods demonstrating her athletic ability to hit the erase button while doing a spread eagle at her desk? And all the time, Nixon bootlickers saying the exact same things I’m hearing now from the Obama camp. I can remember listening on the radio to the hearings. I followed the hearings quite closely and was happy to see Dean finally coming clean about what was going on. When Tricky Dick got on Marine One for his last ride out of DC, I went out and bought a celebratory 6 pack for the occasion. Something I rarely did in those days due to a rather tight budget. I remember front page news every time Nixon made another BS statement about it all. The NYTs? That would be the folks that didn’t even consider this a story before the election. Now Steve considers them the go-to experts on Benghazi. I don’t need their version – I actually paid attention in real time. They lied, Steve. And the lies continue.
I’d love to hear your version of what happened in Benghazi, Steve. You are the one that said we can argue about the cause.
So – go ahead – what’s your argument?

My, does Governor Brown really believe in tax breaks for businesses? Say it ain’t so. Or say too little too late and too targeted and too small. At least reality is slapping him in the face. Sometimes a kick in the rear is one small step forward.

They actually want and think it is possible to have a Zero emission freight hauling system. We need to bow to our CARB masters and destroy all of our mechanical slaves…..
My plan would be for all of these Utopians to be at the head of the human mule trains pulling the produce to market..

Mr. Mike L: Consider this: if the mule train pullers eat too many beans around their non campfire the night before and the following day have to grunt and groan while struggling to pull the human mule train, wouldn’t that create methane gas? Human flatulence is causing the ocean to rise 10 feet and will wipe out the stars homes in Malibu. The only viable permanent solution is to eliminate humanoids from The Golden State. No people means no big rigs, no cars, no planes, and no trains. And no Waste Management trucks.

Mr Tozer….me thinks that a train will exist…it will be called the Brown line. Any resemblance to the brown line of the bean eaters underpants is only a coincidence. The train will of course be a zero emission vehicle however the humans that are pulling the train, as you have so correctly pointed out will not.

I do think it will eclipse the Ami Bera race, where Ami is going to win. People are getting fed up with the polarizing actions of the hard-right, long a theme of this blog.
There is that phrase again……”hard right”….seemingly every post with a reference to “hard” and “right”. Interesting that jeffy always seems to return to this…almost as if it were a fetish of his. He himself admits in the turgid and throbbing language he prefers in his offerings that this has long been a theme of his blog. It’s almost as though the talk of politics arouses his interest in the opposition (their political positions only to be sure). Evidently he has recognized their positions as…hard…..polarizing and unyielding!

stevenfrisch 856am – thank you again for the depth of your understanding. The point was not labeling, but defining what is meant by the labels, which I have done meticulously over the years for the labels I use. So one more time – can you or any of your ilk offer some tenets that for you would be, say, a litmus test for ascribing them to the ‘hard right’ column?

George….no need to refer to people as socialists any longer. In keeping with the Nancy Pelosi plan to allow people the freedom to be artists and poets, the au courant term is now “Freelance Che Guevara Mural Painter”.
If the secret to economic prosperity was the erection of Che Guevara murals, Cuba would be the wealthiest nation on Earth. Unfortunately, revolutions are meant as transitions between an inferior form of government, and one that is supposed to be better. Revolution itself isn’t a form of government and socialist sloganeering only takes you so far. In the end, you need to produce things that people need. As one Cuban pointed out, Cuba produces cigars, sugar and more Cubans. That isn’t exactly the making of an economy; ironically, since the advent of communism, all three have seen their production decline.
    During my second day in Cuba, a very wise taxi driver tried to explain socialism to me as;
“A big puzzle where you spend years putting the pieces together, only to learn that the last few pieces won’t fit how you want them to. Therefore, every decade, you need to disassemble puzzle and put it back together again so that you can get more of the pieces to fit this time.”
A few devoted socialists humored me by explaining that Cuba had finally created a perfect socialist state without classes. It was working, except that the state didn’t earn any hard currency to pay for imports. Cuba had no choice, but to re-do the puzzle—the foreign currency piece would not fit, yet by redoing the puzzle, they unfortunately took a step away from socialism.
Cuba then opened up parts of Te economy to tourists in an effort to attract foreign currency. At first, it was anticipated that tourists would choose to essentially seclude themselves in beach communities, surrounded by specially selected Cuban workers. The problem was that tourists had money to spend, and it didn’t all go to the state. Suddenly an unregulated market sprung up, driven by tourists.
In the communist critique of capitalism, whoever has the highest income, is the most valued in society. Today, in the tourist driven economy, prostitutes make the most, followed by tour guides, taxi drivers, bar keepers, waiters and anyone else who is paid in cash, either for services rendered or in tips. Meanwhile, doctors earn roughly US $20 a month while working for the state. Multiple people pointed out that if doctors are now choosing to become prostitutes and taxi drivers, how will there continue to be free health-care? It sounds like socialism in Cuba is having an existential crisis—is it time to re-do the puzzle?
