Greatest threat to America.  What is the most insidious yet likely path to end our glorious republic?  It isn’t our acknowledged global foes, or foreign terrorists, or even native terrorists.  It is the terminally ignorant and manipulated voter, most likely under 30-years=old.  Today that block of American citizens are firmly in the Democratic camp characterized as the most educated because they are college graduates.

But now that this much publicized cohort has been more closely examined, we find that these people are really miseducated, having studied subjects and fields which have given them a jaundiced view of western civilization and culture, and no marketable skills to boot.  Most of them are either employed in minimum wage, dead-end jobs or unemployed and unemployable under today’s ridiculous minimum wage mandates.

For example, the overwhelming share of DSA (Democratic Socialists of America) activists and members live with their parents, are unemployed activists, and/or earn less than $60K a year.  They purport to favor socialism and communism over capitalism, knowing neither the definition of these ideologies nor their historical role in abetting human misery wherever such collectivist regimes have gained power.  Their socio-political beliefs are conveniently summarized by a handful of slogans, unsupported by reason, history, or are simply propagandized lies.  The verification of these deficits is aired daily in our media outlets.

The danger they represent to our republic and western culture is that they will willingly vote for unprincipled power-hungry politicians who repeat their slogans and know how to play on their emotions which substitute for critical thinking.  It is not certain that these misguided voters can ever be convinced of their wrongheadedness, or even if they can even be reached with an alternative message.  Most certainly the Republicans and the conservative media are doing a woefully inadequate job in reaching them with alternative solutions to those touted by Bernie Sanders, AOC, Elizabeth Warren, Abdul El-Sayed, and their ilk, let alone the prominent outpourings of the leftwing media.

Bottom line of these recent survey reports of the country’s rising tide of socialism is that we can more readily destroy ourselves through rank ignorance than suffer the same fate at the hands of foreign powers.  And no one knows whether it’s already too late to back off the precipice.  Our Founders sagely warned us that the liberal governance they fashioned comes with a systemic weakness; it is not well-constituted to defend itself from an aggressively ignorant and unassimilated enemy within – “A republic if you can keep it.”
