[The Left’s constant message drizzles into people’s ears that the rich are taking money from the middle and the poor, causing untold suffering across the land. The real data on the economy and the spending behavior of consumers contradicts all of this. But under tight socialist teachings and control none of this information reaches the “over educated” public. They are led to believe that the rich are hiding their great wealth under mattresses where it does not contribute to the common good. These geniuses have no idea nor do they even think to ask where does all the capital come from that is used to build factories, data centers, … create/sustain the millions of jobs in the country’s workforce, and pay for the poorly managed government maintenance of our infrastructure and wasteful wealth redistribution programs. Here’s a hint: it comes from corporate retained earnings and the savings of millions of makers. Government does not generate wealth, it only enables its generation by a few enlightened policies and mainly staying out of the way. gjr]

Go ICE!!!
“Milo Yiannopoulos, a British national known for his near-constant reinventions as a vizier within far-right American politics for more than a decade, has been detained by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Louisiana, according to the department’s records.
While it’s not clear which detention facility Yiannopoulos is currently being held in, the ICE directory instructs any family or legal representatives to contact the Enforcement and Removal Office in Alexandria, Louisiana, a processing center for the central part of the state, about 200 miles from New Orleans.”

Trump brown-nosing Congresscritters rally to Trump’s defense!
“(The Hill) — Rep. Jimmy Patronis (R-Fla.) ripped country star Jason Deford, whose stage name is Jelly Roll, after the singer’s late-night monologue made fun of President Donald Trump’s weight, with Patronis saying the singer is no longer welcome in his Florida Panhandle district. Jelly Roll returned as a guest host on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Monday night, where he poked fun at Trump’s weight. The rapper-turned-country singer said he had shed 300 pounds, comparing that weight loss to “an entire Donald Trump.” “And let’s be honest, based on his approval ratings, it seems like most of the country wants to do the same thing,” he said. He continued, “From one fat pig to another, take it from me that physical fitness is very important. Trust me, you’ll be happy to see your pe— again.”

Magaloons are lining up to support Gloria Romero for California Lieutenant Governor.
She checks all the boxes important to the MAGA culture,“…her campaign is a cesspool of culture-war issues and election denialism.
On social media, she suggested that she was boycotting “The Odyssey” because the movie featured Black and transgender actors and professed her love for Aunt Jemima, which Quaker Oats retired in 2020 due to the character’s origins in racial stereotypes.
After the June primary, Romero tweeted that Los Angeles County’s voting machines were “40% fraudulent by design” and alleged that Michael Tubbs, one of her opponents for lieutenant governor in the June primary, had benefited from “nefarious balloting” — even though Tubbs finished fourth. She also suggested Nithya Raman, the Los Angeles City Council member running for mayor against incumbent Karen Bass, could attract Republican voters who’d voted for Spencer Pratt, the third-place finisher, by “admitting fraud in this election.”

Things look grim for the Repubs in the mid-terms. Incumbents have only gained seats in 20 of the last 22 midterm House elections and they are virtually dead even as of now with Repubs only up by 6 seats. that means 4 flips would lose the House for them and the polls currently look grim.
Repubs hold 53 Senate seats compared to Dems 47 meaning the only have to flip 4 seats to take the Senate. Six GOP seats are now toss-ups or lean Democratic.
Pretty grim especially if you look at the polls.

You contend that “Taxpayers Lost $65 Billion On Obamacare Fraud Last Year
You’re source is zerohedge.com. Who are they and what gives them the credibility to make such a statement? What is their source?
.
They are a financial website (primarily, with political legal and conspiracy websites linked to as well) and usually retail stories found online at other websites (Bloomberg, Jonathan Turley, other financial and banking sources). The report in question came from a Paragon Health Institute analysis (they are a conservative health analysis organization in DC I believe) that was distilled by the eponymous “Tyler Durden”, a character from “Fight Club” a book/movie from which a number of the regular posters to the site took posting handles.
.
Really not so different from rawsewage.com a site that operates in similar fashion but hasn’t prompted you to inquire about its sources/methods even one single time of which I’m aware and has a far worse reputation than zerohedge.
.
Now how about those marmot links I provided…..? Pretty keen huh? After all…who doesn’t like marmots?!

“LOS ANGELES – MapQuest has surged to the top of Apple’s U.S. navigation app rankings after the mapping service decided not to rename Lake Ontario “Lake America,” following President Donald Trump’s executive order, the company said Monday.
MapQuest said its app reached No. 1 among navigation apps and No. 8 among all free apps in the U.S. Apple App Store, with downloads surging since Thursday when Trump signed the order.”

It’s been something of a cause célèbre on Reddit. The hivemind, in close synchronicity with Mr.Hillbilly and Mr. psul, has been hosannaing about how MapQuest gave the Orange Tornado what for.
I rather like the idea from a business standpoint. For the terminally-online wavers of virtual placards, it’s a lo-cost way to show your high morals. A place like MapQuest can ignore the gubmint and choose it’s own names for most everything. Native Americans, at least whoever owned the property last, can moniker everything with large many-syllabled names. Verboten word place names can be stricken from the record. Mountains can be renamed after such worthies as AOC and Bernie. All streets can become Martin Luther King Blvd.
There’s definitely money to be made in becoming a politically oriented company. Personally, I’d slip the Pride Rainbow of Quality in all my ads.

Aug 31 (Reuters) – A federal judge ruled on Monday that New York cannot enforce a state law it enacted in 2024 that sought to force oil companies to contribute $75 billion over 25 years into a fund that will pay for damage caused by climate change.
Chief U.S. District Judge Brenda Sannes in Syracuse sided with a group of Republican state attorneys general and industry groups including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in finding the Democratic-led state’s measure was preempted by federal law.

roflmao. Well, that certainly is convenient. Not slavery generally, the normal state of affairs for most of human history with plenty of more current examples like the Barbary trade and all the people shipped around by Arabs in Africa, the Indian Ocean, etc, but a very particular one.
Hopefully Brazil is up to the expense as their slave importation was on the order of 10x the US version.
I’m not sure why modern times are basically just a series of shakedowns and grift, maybe it’s just a lack of useful things for people to do. You could argue that repatriation might be the answer if the victims’ current situation is suboptimal.

No doubt you are just scouring the internet for anything harmful to Orange Man and His Minions (a band name if there ever was one), but it’s genuinely an interesting question.
Is a crewman in an airplane flying over friendly territory near a sort of combat zone (were they even actually refueling at the time, or just going from one place to the next) killed in action in a war? I genuinely don’t know. Let’s say he died from a heart attack while boarding the plane.
Is some PFC in Germany killed by a pallet of food sliding into him while loading a shipment to the ‘war’ zone due some sort of extra consideration?
What are the edges to these cases? Any non-troll willing to take a try? I expect it’s spelled out somewhere, but that never stops the 420th BarcaLounger Brigade.
I don’t believe that U-2 pilots over the USSR received any combat pay. Maybe Trump is at fault there too.

More unintended consequences of Trump Stupidity Syndrome…
“The Dutch central bank (DNB) has confirmed that billions of dollars in gold has been taken out of north America and relocated to London, citing “increasing geopolitical unrest”.
DNB said on Wednesday that 86 tonnes of gold had been removed from the US and Canada in a complex operation that took several months. It is now being held by the Bank of England, where the precious metal can be traded more easily “in a crisis situation”.
Bank president Olaf Sleijpen said the move was “necessary to strengthen our resilience and preparedness”.”

I would suggest that the ‘compassion’ might be used by the people wallowing in a death as a kind of political football. Obviously we would never hear about this, and people die all the time in organizations as large as the US military, except for the opportunities for Trump bashing. The retail activists pick it up from Amy Goodman or the Daily Kos and then indulge in their need to Speak Truth To Power, none of which is original.
Strangely enough, I seem to remember that fatality rates actually went down for large military units sent to the Middle East during one of the Gulf Wars. There are a lot fewer ways for young men to meet their demise in a tightly controlled environment.

A proto fascist feel-good article.
“You see a young Muslim woman dressed warmly for early spring walking down the street when she’s approached by a man in civilian clothes. She shouts as he places his hands on her. At that moment, a second man in civilian clothes arrives and appears to pull out a badge. Within moments she’s surrounded by plainclothes officers.
They handcuff her and take her away.
If the video had recorded the arrest of a violent criminal, it wouldn’t be shocking at all. It would look benign, relatively peaceful even. But you’re not watching the arrest of a violent criminal. Instead, it’s the arrest of a Turkish graduate student at Tufts, Rumeysa Ozturk, who had been lawfully present in the United States on a student visa.
And why was she arrested? For helping to write an op-ed. That’s the reason for the swarm of officers and the handcuffs.”
