[I'd be interested in readers' comments regarding the information content of today's interminable news conferences during which dozens of bureaucrats high and low take turns expressing their compassion and prayers for the victims, describing how hard everyone in their department/agency is working, how smoothly every level of government is coordinating with every other, and admonishing people to prepare and evacuate when told to do so.  Always omitted is information about the current location/boundaries of the fires and what direction they are spreading and/or predicted to spread.  The information-free images shown ad nauseum are of anonymous burning houses and hillsides while field reporters ask victims how they feel about having lost everything. gjr]

Hopefully Team Blue is ground in the dust for a bit. It’ll do ’em good.
“In Trump’s first term, his staff were underqualified and didn’t know that the civil servants left behind from the Obama years were lying to them.
In this egregious example, career DOL employees simply lied and then proved they were lying the day Biden came into power.”

Maybe not such a bad President after all….

Looking forward to President Trump citing “the Biden rule” when he begins unilaterally changing the Constitution via social media posts. Biden truly is the gift that keeps on giving.

A bold new day in American governance!

    That’s laughable…!
The biggest scandal was that Trump promised to have Mexico pay for the wall….where’s the wall scenes?
Why isn’t there a wall?? Huh?
    Well?

    “Cry with a friend
It might seem counterintuitive, but if you need to shed a few tears on Inauguration Day, it’s healthy to let them out with one caveat: You shouldn’t do it alone. “The grace and speed with which somebody recovers from grief if they have an opportunity to cry with the support of another person—someone who they trust and who they believe cares about them—is orders of magnitude improved,” Simon-Thomas says.”

    Hilarious:
“Biden staffers lift the lid on president’s cognitive decline as 82-year-old is accused of unforgivable lapse”
This was the worst kept secret in modern US political history. It only fooled the goobers like Hillbilly and Paul. It was clear back when Biden started the first campaign against Trump there was something wrong. Almost everything was a video and heavily edited. He couldn’t do speeches or interviews without stumbling.
He was nothing more than an angry old man calling people names and yelling at the kids to get off his lawn.
And of course, there’s plenty more to “spill out” as the years progress when we learn about all the other crap that’s been going on in DC that was hidden from the public. I don’t care so much about who goes to prison as I care about just getting the truth out for everyone to see. And I don’t care what party affiliation it involves.

You know, it might just be that by their standards Biden is fully functional.
The tell-all book biz should really be something as they stumble to go to print. Pre-election it was never going to happen as the Prime Directive for these people is the Iron Rice Bowl, and you don’t want to interfere with that.
The fuss on Monday afternoon should be a wonder to behold. Saving the country ain’t gonna be pretty.

The subtitle that Instapundit used….”AND SO BEGIN THE LAMENTATIONS OF THEIR WOMEN”! A line lifted….paraphrased actually….from a child’s movie that starred a former California governor!

“It’s a sense of complete impunity — including impunity to the laws of nature,” Brooke Harrington, a professor of economic sociology at Dartmouth College who studies the behavior of the ultra-rich, told me. “They reject constraint in all of its forms.”

If it wasn’t sad it would be hysterical….I’m going to go out on a limb and say that the author who now laments that men with a lot of money do their level best to reject “constraints” was only a few months ago defending the notion that men could have babies!

Alas no…..she didn’t make that claim! Of course under the Paul Raymond Emery Rules of Debate, a failure to make a full throated denunciation of a thing or practice is tantamount to an endorsement of that thing or practice.
Yeah….I’m going to go with that!

C’est la vie. The midwit magazine writers simply write a plausible short story and let ‘er rip. Not so different than most historians or social scientists I think.
On a different topic, I was considering Melania Trump’s race face lately, a bit severe even for an Eastern European. Naturally there’s a lot of female appearance and wardrobe power language going on that I’ll miss.
It occurred to me that she’s one to watch out for now. Culminating with the assassination attempt(s) and having armed FBI agents search her son’s bedroom and riffle through her underwear drawer, she’s pissed this time around. I sure wouldn’t give the Mar-a-Lago boots on the ground very good career prospects.
You know, like ol’ Emerson sez: “When you strike at a king, you must kill him”

Maybe. Difficult to “un-stern” the face though.
Certainly a sense of style that is a marked improvement over Jill “Who Wore it Better me or the Sofa” Biden. And light years better than Michelle “Hey, Check out these Biceps” Obama!
I think she’s a survivor and given the events of the summer just wants to minimize exposure time for her and the kid as much as possible.
Tough to blame her for that!

How is the IDF-Hamas treaty going?
“…the first three hostages to be freed in exchange for the planned release of 90 Palestinian prisoners.”
So if we go by the ratio 30:1, let’s see…
The 10/7/23 invasion killed 1,195 Israelis, and there have been over 400 IDF soldiers killed since then. At the same 30:1 ratio, that means the death of 47,850 Palestinians would be about right mathematically. 45,936 actual Palestinians seems to be the figure mentioned as of a week ago. Who said the Arabs couldn’t cipher? They know that s!!t. And they don’t care how many of their own they lose.
