[As Lenin, Stalin, and Saul Alinsky counseled, accuse your opponent of advocating and doing the same things that you do.  Hence, now Kamala and gang promote the same longstanding Trump policies, and accuse Trump of being a Hitlerian “fascist” who will institute an autocratic government dedicated to centralized control, implement the socialist policies long-claimed and practiced by Kamala and the Democrats, and then use the military to imprison opponents.  In the interval, their campaign will permit no questions about their plans and policies, only focusing on disparaging Trump, the destroyer of democracy, this as the Republicans continue to outline their policies and seek symmetry from the Left.  The same response is seen in these pages from our TDS suffering leftwing readers; they will not touch policies but ape their dear leader in continuing to disparage Trump’s character.  gjr]

The Economist, a Republican stronghold publication has come out supporting Harris. Here are some direct quotes:
The endorsement from the United Kingdom-based publication was a surprise because of its historic dedication to conservative economic ideals such as free trade and characteristic support for conservative fiscal policy.
From “Why The Economist endorses Kamala Harris”
“You cannot imagine [Harris] bringing about a catastrophe,” the endorsement reads. “We hope that a second Trump presidency would avoid disaster, but Mr. Trump poses an unacceptable risk to America and the world.”
“Americans would be gambling with the economy, the rule of law and international peace.”

    Hilarious:

The entire Biden/Harris tenure was a catastrophe.
A “conservative” in GB is not what a conservative in the US is. And most of the Labour Party are commies.
Britain is a highly socialistic country and the Tories are pretty much just wanna-be Democrats.
They want Harris because they hope she will save their financial butts.
The Tory/Labour Blob in Jolly Olde England have brought financial ruin (again) to their poor Britannia. And the US is not far behind.
Their endorsement is no surprise to me.
But fear not, Paul – Harris/Walz has the sexually-confused, baby killer, and porn addict voting bloc to push them over the finish line.
    Enjoy!

Punchy, I have no idea where you get your strange notions.
“The Economist considers itself the enemy of privilege, pomposity and predictability. It has backed conservatives such as Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher. It has supported the Americans in Vietnam. But it has also endorsed Harold Wilson and Bill Clinton, and espoused a variety of liberal causes: opposing capital punishment from its earliest days, while favoring penal reform and decolonization, as well as—most recently—gun control and gay marriage.”
Not a Republican stronghold, and you are a compass pointing south.

Just wondering …. what do the folks here think about a Sierra College adjunct professor showing up for a class wearing a Harris/Walz t-shirt?
The class was not political in nature.

Don’t care about the teach showing up in a college classroom wearing any sort of political message shirt. The “children” are pretty much all 18 or older – so they’re adults.
But what if a student showed up in full MAGA every day?
    Ah, yes – THAT’S different.
Suddenly the free political expression climate would go cold and the lil’ darlings and the prof would start crying about “not feeling safe”.
    Boo hoo.
    Actually – BOO! Happy Halloween.

    Breaking the law –
White House press officials reportedly pressured stenographers to cover up President Joe Biden’s “garbage” smear by editing the transcript to alter its meaning.
The coverup was “a breach of protocol and spoilation of transcript integrity between the Stenography and Press Offices,” according to a stenographer supervisor’s email obtained by the Associated Press (AP)

So riddle me this oh great ponytail of ignorance then why do the majority of voters say Trump is more trusted on the economy? Is schumer a liberal self-loathing jew?
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) was blasted Thursday by Jewish critics after documents emerged indicating that he told Columbia University’s leaders to ignore criticism of antisemitism in campus protests.
As Adam Kredo of the Washington Free Beacon reported, the Republican staff report of the House Education and Workforce Committee, which spent the past year investigating the explosion of antisemitism on university campuses, included text messages sent by then-Columbia president Minouche Shafik to trustees.
Columbia was the site of some of the most radical, antisemitic, and violent protests.
In the text messages, Minouche reported that Schumer had told her that only Republicans were concerned about the issue of antisemitism on campus since the Hamas terror attack of October 7 in Israel. In addition, she wrote, a Schumer staffer had advised her “that best strategy is to keep heads down” and ignore the problem, as well as criticism of the university’s handling of it.

    As Harry Reid explained:
“Well, they can call it whatever they want,” Reid said. “Romney didn’t win, did he?”
The amusing aspect of this is that after the election, the major news outlets, the fed govt, and the lefty columnists and TV personalities will be expecting us to start believing them again.

Here’s one reason I don’t think much of so-called “economists”. Note to Paul – do you see the difference between ‘not agreeing with’ and ‘ignoring’ as you falsely claim?
From our august “Nobel Prize Winning” stooges:
“Many Americans are concerned about inflation, which has come down remarkably fast.”
This is an outright lie. It has, in fact, not “come down” one bit. It has continued to rise.
It won’t matter who wins – the fed and other large state and city budgets continue to operate on an ever-increasing mountain of debt. This leads inexorably to the destruction of the value of the dollar.

Oh Paul. That last comment is truly crazy. We are to discard the principles postulated by world renowned economists and scholars in favor of your economists at the Economists. The main disconnect you are having in this forum is that you seem to need other people to tell you what to think while the remainder of the participants are independent thinkers, and come up with their own thoughts and ideas and opinions based on in large part scholarly works and authors. We don’t care what the economist thinks. It is just one piece of information.

The article Hillbilly posted the link to does not refute the original claim. It doesn’t matter if they were sent – the soldiers are complaining they don’t have the ballots.
