I view with reinvigorated alarm today’s broadcast joys of socialists, wokesters, liberals, and leftwingers in general celebrating the $400M+ fine demanded of Trump for what is termed his  committing ‘civil fraud’.  They uniformly and unanimously agree with the ‘legal basis’ on which the New York attorney general prosecuted and the judge adjudicated the Trump trial.  All these people look forward to a totalitarian state in which capitalism is banned, the beneficial mechanisms of market pricing, and the ownership of private property are dispensed with.  That is exactly the harbinger that letting the verdict stand will foster across the land.  (And students of our Founders and Bastiat know that the fundamental rights upon which our personal security and manifold liberties are based will also disappear.)

The other cohort of people celebrating Trump’s fine are those too stupid to think through these ramifications.  All their little TDS sotted pea brains can muster up is that if it hurts Trump, it must be good.

Nevertheless, some on the Right still believe that we can find common ground to reunite as the America of yesteryear – this even though no such path has been identified.  RR invites these worthies to step forward and illuminate us with their vision of how we regain E Pluribus Unum.  (And here is info on a related and contributing problem in our land.)

Gregory (on Prosobiec): “Mildly funny, but not worth a belly laugh. He was baiting the leftist press, who took the bait and ran with it uncritically.”
I’ll say. Dunno if it’s organized or not, but Good Lord there’s a lot of coverage on that. Just google ‘Prosobiec’ and hit the ‘news’ button. MSM in decades past wouldn’t bother with some offhand remark by a bit political player, but The Roads Must Roll and rage is what keeps them going.
Of course, Russia is a democracy too, so I’m never sure what that buys you exactly. Until he finds the Love of Jesus in his heart, I’m afraid that Paul is doomed to eternal damnation in hellfire, so I can see why he’s upset.

So Paul thinks “A Modest Proposal” was really about a serious concept of parents selling their children as food?
The idea that Trumpites want to “end democracy” is just as farcical, but when you lose your mind to TDS all manner of new terrors will come to haunt you.

So fish ole’ you have no problem with someone arousing a crowd by advocating a violent revolution and the overthrow of the government by saying Jan 6 didn’t go far enough while welcoming the end of democracy while holding up a cross.

So why are they so horrid? Younger population? More mental illness? Lack of family life? I couldn’t say. You sure don’t have to take psul seriously though.

“Rhetorically, sealioning fuses persistent questioning—often about basic information, information easily found elsewhere, or unrelated or tangential points—with a loudly-insisted-upon commitment to reasonable debate. It disguises itself as a sincere attempt to learn and communicate. Sealioning thus works both to exhaust a target’s patience, attention, and communicative effort, and to portray the target as unreasonable. While the questions of the “sea lion” may seem innocent, they’re intended maliciously and have harmful consequences.”

The groomers at disney dont even try to hide their hate for traditional values –
Popular streaming service Hulu is facing backlash over its local ad placement policies after it prevented a Texas Church from running an advertisement on its platform.
Hulen Street Church in Fort Worth, Texas, was told by Disney-owned Hulu that it could not run a 22-second video to advertise the start of a new Thursday night service because it qualifies as ‘religious indoctrination.’
It is the most recent controversy that Hulu has been involved in, as the platform is facing fury over its policies that have restricted ads on abortion and guns while allowing anti-terrorist group Hamas content.
And it comes as the Supreme Court is hearing arguments Monday on Big Tech transparency after allegations social media platforms are censoring conservative content.
Attorneys for the Church tell DailyMail.com that Hulu’s clear discrimination against religious conservatives trying to raise awareness about their Church services in the local area is ‘over the top’ and must be retracted.

h/t to Matt Taibbi for pointing this article out.

“I Was a Heretic at The New York Times
I did what I was hired to do, and I paid for it.
    By Adam Rubenstein
On one of my first days at The New York Times, I went to an orientation with more than a dozen other new hires. We had to do an icebreaker: Pick a Starburst out of a jar and then answer a question. My Starburst was pink, I believe, and so I had to answer the pink prompt, which had me respond with my favorite sandwich. Russ & Daughters’ Super Heebster came to mind, but I figured mentioning a $19 sandwich wasn’t a great way to win new friends. So I blurted out, “The spicy chicken sandwich from Chick-fil-A,” and considered the ice broken.
The HR representative leading the orientation chided me: “We don’t do that here. They hate gay people.” People started snapping their fingers in acclamation. I hadn’t been thinking about the fact that Chick-fil-A was transgressive in liberal circles for its chairman’s opposition to gay marriage. “Not the politics, the chicken,” I quickly said, but it was too late. I sat down, ashamed.
    ….etc.”

Botox nancy violated the constitution do tell! –
Hendrix said in a 120-page ruling that for over 200 years leading up to the voting proxy rule’s adoption, Congress understood that the majority of members of the House or Senate were required to be physically present to have a quorum to pass legislation, as stipulated under the Constitution’s quorum clause.
“Supreme Court precedent has long held that the Quorum Clause requires presence, and the Clause’s text distinguishes those absent members from the quorum and provides a mechanism for obtaining a physical quorum by compelling absent members to attend,” he wrote.
Paxton said Congress acted “egregiously” when it passed the $1.7 trillion funding bill.
“Congress acted egregiously by passing the largest spending bill in U.S. history with fewer than half the members of the House bothering to do their jobs, show up and vote in person,” Paxton said. “Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi abused proxy voting under the pretext of COVID-19 to pass this law, then Biden signed it, knowing they violated the Constitution. This was a stunning violation of the rule of law. I am relieved the court upheld the Constitution.”
