[The chorus of financial mavens warning of the dollar’s destruction is growing.  The cost to just service our exploding national debt is unsustainable.  That means it’s growing so fast that it consumes an ever greater share of the federal budget AND the nation’s GDP.  Those people concerned with this financial collapse are advised to reinvest in gold, silver, and prominent crypto currencies.  Judging from past attempts to elicit discussion of this event, we have a very sanguine group of readers.  Quoting a famous man, “What, me worry?” gjr]

Appease the white wokesters at the risk of alienating the old minority base –
“Issues like abortion and threats to democracy [LOL] may also do less to guard against additional losses among Black and Hispanic voters,” the Times continues, “who tend to be more conservative than white Biden voters.”
Because Black and Hispanic Americans are disproportionately poor and working class, they are almost certainly more concerned with inflation, wage stagnation, energy costs, and crime—four issues Biden has deliberately sought to make worse by shutting down domestic drilling and opening the borders to low-wage workers and third world criminals.
Biden’s lead over Trump with non-white voters who did not attend college is only 49 to 31 percent.
As of today, Biden is down 17 points

Oh, what a surprise – the IRA actually causes prices to rise. Another tax on energy. Guess who ends up paying for that? And remember that when the cost of energy rises, the costs for everything that use energy rises. Sweet.

But the fed govt will be “equitable” and transfer even more money from the producers to the eaters to “offset” the increase.

“Scientists are worried, as well they should be.
The latest recipient of the Nobel Prize in Physics, John Clauser warns that climate science has become pseudoscience. Meanwhile, Jim Skea, the new Chairman of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change criticizes climate hyperbole as his boss UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres promotes “Global Boiling.” Additionally, high profile billionaires from Bezos and Soros to Zuckerberg and Gates throw their wealth into climate alarm. Mainstream media outlets are recruiting highly politicized young journalists to promote hysteria.
The fate of science is at stake, and consequently the fate of the civilization it supports.”

    VDH at his best
    https://amgreatness.com/2023/09/04/what-the-left-did-to-our-country/
    A snippet for Punchy:
“between 2009-17, Barack Obama was empowered to transform the Democratic Party from its middle-class roots and class concerns into the party of the bicoastal rich and subsidized poor—obsessions with big money, race, a new intolerant green religion, and dividing the country into a binary of oppressors and oppressed.
The Obamas entered the presidency spouting the usual leftwing boilerplate (“spread the wealth,” “just downright mean country,” “get in their face,” “first time I’ve been proud of my country”) as upper-middle-class, former community activists, hurt that their genius and talents had not yet been sufficiently monetized.
After getting elected through temporarily pivoting to racial ecumenicalism and pseudo-calls for unity, they reverted to form and governed by dividing the country. And then the two left the White House as soon-to-be mansion living, mega-rich elites, cashing in on the fears they had inculcated over the prior eight years.

Obama lost his party some 1,400 local and state offices during his tenure, along with both houses of Congress. His presidency was characterized by his own polarizing mediocrity. His one legacy was Obamacare, the veritable destruction of the entire system of a once workable health insurance, of the hallowed doctor-patient relationship, and of former easy access to competent specialists.
Yet Obama’s unfufilled ambitions set the stage for the Biden administration—staffed heavily with Obama veterans—to complete the revolutionary transformation of the Democratic Party and country.”

‘Promised Land’ Star, Director Stumped by Insane Diversity Question.
The star and director behind “The Promised Land,” which just screened at the prestigious Venice Film Festival, must have drawn the short straw. They were both presented with a question about their film’s lack of diversity, at least by American standards.
The historical drama follows an 18th century army captain (Mikkelsen) struggling to raise his social status and maintain his values in an increasingly hostile climate. The film is based on a novel inspired by a real person, Captain Ludvig Kahlen.

An unnamed journalist from Denmark quizzed Mikkelsen and Arcel about the film’s alleged dearth of diversity. It’s set in a Nordic country circa the 1700s.
Unnamed huh….I bet I can guess why that is.

OK let’s go over this slowly for the slow folk:
“This, from a liar who helped to push lies about Trump.”
    “…a liar…”
That would be Paul Emery, who shows up here posting lies – hence – he is a liar.
“…who helped to push lies about Trump…”
Paul repeatedly – on this blog – passed along falsehoods such as “Trump is a Putin Cuddler”
    and so forth.
In fact – Trump railed against Putin and the fact that other NATO countries were not spending what was needed to push back against Putin and that the Euro countries were becoming dependent on Russia for energy. Trump did what he could to stop the pipeline from Russia. Here’s a great link Paul won’t ever click on:

Putin invaded Ukraine based on Biden’s complete failure and bug out in Afghanistan along with Biden’s signalling weakness in Europe as well as Biden’s corruption in Ukraine.
If Trump had been properly elected there would have been no Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Oh, boy – CNN – we all know they’re just a front for Trumpers, right?
Gee – maybe just buy energy from Russia?
Trump was Putin’s worst enemy. Trump helped to drive down the cost of petro and starve Russia of the funds to conduct war.
Biden did just the opposite. He goaded Putin into a war that will destroy most of Ukraine, weaken our country’s ability to conduct a war against China (Xi applauds this) and help the military industrial complex that leftists used to complain about.
We note that the Dems fought back the idea that American tax payers should be appraised of where our money is going in Ukraine. Why? What are the Dems hiding?

A reference (a little long) from the mishtalk website has a lot of interesting information:
    https://manhattan.institute/article/mines-minerals-and-green-energy-a-reality-check
“A single battery providing a useful driving range weighs about 1,000 pounds.[ref 15] Providing the refined minerals needed to fabricate a single EV battery requires the mining, moving, and processing of more than 500,000 pounds of materials somewhere on the planet (see sidebar below).[16] That’s 20 times more than the 25,000 pounds of petroleum that an internal combustion engine uses over the life of a car.”
[So the paper says an EV car uses 5 lbs of earth (dirt) per mile traveled, vs 0.25 lbs (of gasoline) per mile for a gasoline car, over a 100,000-mile lifetime. Imagine how much mining waste that 5 pounds of dirt/mile yields for 10,000,000 vehicles.]
…the embodied energy to produce about 200 pounds of steel is the same as used to produce one pound of semiconductor-grade silicon.[20] The world also uses some 25,000 TONS of (energy-intensive) pure semiconductor-grade silicon, a nonexistent material in the precomputer era.[21]”
We can consider the implications and lessons for green waste by looking at the 50 million tons of so-called e-waste generated globally from worn-out or outmoded digital devices that are also built using many critical and rare minerals. The tonnage of global e-waste equals “the weight of all commercial aircraft ever built” [54]
Today, one can trace a straight line from a medical MRI to giant trucks in the mines of Brazil (for niobium in superconducting magnets),[71] or from an electric car to Inner Mongolia’s massive Bayan Obo mines (for rare earths), and from a smartphone to mines in the Democratic Republic of Congo (for cobalt in batteries).
The Hague drily notes that “import-dependent countries may use military capabilities to secure mineral resources.”[94]
The paper also alludes that the U.S. is import-dependent; though it has the estimated quantities to be non-import-dependent – if only the govt regulations & environmental rules weren’t in the way.
