[Can anyone give a cogent reason why Trump is being prosecuted for speaking openly against the validity of the 2022 election that put Joe Biden in the White House? All the man did was exercise his 1A rights, and that included asking Georgia’s governor to review his state’s vote count to see if he could come up with more Trump votes. He blackmailed no one; he threatened no one; he just gave lip service to his opinions and beliefs to see if there was any legal and non-violent way he could change the outcome of the election. According to our Constitution anyone can do that, and Democrats have already demonstrated that such opposition to election outcomes are perfectly legal. gjr]

In the context of the United States Constitution, there is no specific punishment outlined for telling something later deemed a law by a court. The Constitution primarily focuses on protecting individual rights, outlining the powers and structure of government, and establishing the rule of law. The specific punishments for any given offense are typically defined in statutory or case law at the federal and state levels. If you have a specific legal concern, it’s advisable to consult with a qualified attorney familiar with the relevant laws in your jurisdiction.

According to the Washington Post Trump has spend $40 million in legal fee’s just this year so far and that’s just part of it.
“WASHINGTON, July 30 (Reuters) – Former U.S. President Donald Trump’s political action committee is expected to report on Monday that it has spent about $40 million in legal fees in the first half of 2023 to defend Trump and his advisers, among others, the Washington Post reported.
The New York Times separately reported that the PAC has sought the return of $60 million it made to another group supporting Trump, a candidate for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.”

Sure glad that Biden has that debt problem under control:
“…the US Treasury Department’s quarterly net-borrowing estimates for the second half of 2023 just came out, and that number is a sickening $1.85 TRILLION.”
And that doesn’t include the trillions that will be needed to pay it back.
Almost 2T in 6 months.
Don’t worry – our Treasury Dept’s printing presses are the fastest in the world.

You contribute by your silence and lack of support to any Libertarian principals when it comes to Trump when you refuse to speak out against him. For example the Libertarians claim to support the Constitution yet when Trump openly ignores it when he tries to steal the election by advocating fake electors intended to be installed when Pence halts the election process, which fortunately he refused to do, you are silent.

Multnomah County, Oregon, lost 14,257 taxpayers, which resulted in a $1 billion loss in tax revenue, according to local media.
The Democrat-run city of Portland is in Multnomah County, and that’s where most of these losses came from.
That 14,257 number is not the city’s net population loss. That is merely the number of tax filers who fled. You can bet their families went with them.
What is especially interesting about this news is who is leaving: “The average income of Multnomah County residents who moved away in 2020, the most recent figure available, was 14% higher than of those who moved the year prior[.]”

Those numbers from Breitbart don’t make sense. Let’s say that it’s just the city of Portland. That comes to ($1B/14,000) = $70,000 loss of tax revenue per taxfiler. That’s a lot of local income and sales tax. What would be the federal taxes those folks would be paying, maybe 5 times the total local income taxes, so $350K in Fed taxes? That value of course wouldn’t change since they will pay the same Fed tax as a resident of Idaho or Mississippi. $350K Fed tax would mean income of $1+M or so. That has to be a large part of the millionaire population of the Portland area.
From Google search, there were 5,520 Oregonians with incomes of $1 million or more who filed 2020 tax returns. And the Portland area would maybe have half of those millionaires.
So losing 14,000+ taxfilers – they are no way all $1M-aires.
Can’t be all housing taxes either, since generally some other taxpayer eventually moves into a sold home to account for some or most of the lost real estate tax.
So Breitbart meant a loss of INCOME that COULD BE taxed, not income taxes. Makes more sense. So Portland didn’t lose $1B of tax money from their $7.1B budget, but $1B of income that COULD BE taxed at Portland’s rate of ?? 1%, 3%??, a much smaller part of the $7.1B budget. Exaggeration doesn’t help to make their point.

Americans are pulling money out of their 401(k) plans at an alarming rate
The number of people who made a hardship withdrawal during the second quarter surged from the first three months of the year to 15,950, an increase of 36% from the second quarter of 2022, according to Bank of America’s analysis of clients’ employee benefits programs, which are comprised of more than 4 million plan participants.
It’s a “pretty troubling” development if more people are resorting to making hardship withdrawals, Matt Schulz, chief credit analyst at LendingTree, told CNN.
Bank of America’s latest Participant Pulse report also found that a greater percentage of participants borrowed from their workplace plans from the first quarter, and average contributions trailed off as well.

Here’s one for you Gregory bringing back the fact that the Russians were cheering Trumps win over Hillary.
Reactions in Moscow to Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential election can only be described as “euphoric,” according to veteran Moscow correspondent Charles Maynes.
“Russian elites from Putin on down have been absolutely thrilled with the result,” says Maynes. “For example, in the Duma — the Russian parliament — when the results were announced that Mr. Trump had triumphed, lawmakers broke out into applause.”
Nationalist leader Vladimir Zhirinovksy poured champagne for his fellow lawmakers. The patriarch of the Russian Orthodox church called on God to help Trump govern.
