   What is the “sin” of being and living together and not being married? Is that some kind of Christian thing? If so why inflict it on someone not of that spiritual persuasion? Freedom of religion also means freedom from religion in case you don’t understand our Constitution.

   I love it when your fall over those neatly placed trip wires and do the ole faceplant in the mud.
   Mr. Emery, your topic this morning is the codification of marriage, passed by both chambers of Congress and signed into law my a sitting President. Defense of Marriage Act or something, with couple of poison bills dropped in for faith based adoption agencies…unless the Senate took the, out along with making it a crime to announce opposition to same sex marriages. Like, no free speech.
   Tell you the truth, I have not followed the Act since it was in rough form in the House and still a work in process. Not interested in it, does not grab my attention. Never knew there was some inter-racial marriage bans going on in any state. Now we all can get divorce lawyers….independent of race, creed, national origin, sex, gender, cult…..
   So, what is new except to codify?
   Paul, the topic you are so pleased about morning is Marriage. Marriage. Bobby and Debbie sitting in a tree, k-I-s-s-i-n-g. First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes little Punchy in a baby carriage.
   Hey, if you want to shack up and play house, that’s up to you. Two incomes can pay the rent better than one. Live together, shack up, live in sin outside of marriage, why buy the cow when the milk is free….ain’t nobody stopping ya. Sorry if my words bother ya. If if
   said words bothered you that much, make a honest woman (or guy) out of her. Or, just break off a dandelion stem, wrap it around their finger, and say until death do us part. California is common law State.
   Then there is the medical issues to consider if you ain’t madly in love. Say she is on Medicaid. Pays all her health insurance. You get married and you can’t afford to cover her health insurance, unless you are working for a good company with good bennies. So, if you do not marry, then let Uncle State foot her bill.
   But if you love her, then all that don’t matter. Love will find a way. I am a romantic at heart.
   Love is blind, marriage is an institution, therefore marriage is an institution of the blind.
   Fornicate to your heart’s desire. Let’s Shag. Shack up. Who knows, she probably has a place, a car, and a bank account. Some guys are quick studies and find that important stuff out in the first 3 minutes of meeting her. It’s a hook up culture anyway, been that way for awhile. Be it far from me to judge folks living in sin, outside of the blue D’s of Holy Matrimony.
   Geeze Louise Punch, for a Lefty morally outraged Puritan you are slipping, man. Women like the security, women like to nest. Women like to introduce their guys to people as, “My husband.” Men are such beasts. Then again, some women friends of yours may look at some guy they shacked up with after playing house for a spell and say, “This is not the guy I want to marry.” Lol. Rolling stone gathers no moss.
   Don’t expect me to condone your behavior. Tolerate? Yes. Condone, then celebrate? Nah.
   Remember when Trump had those bikers at the WH with unclad ladies on their vests? Why, I never!

    I think there is some language in there to redefine sex and include the 72 genders. It was all grandstanding not for same sex marriage or interracial marriage, not for the LGB community, but for the TAA+QRSUWYXZz community. Why else were drag queens invited to the signing? Drag Queens can get married so it does not help nor hurt them. Why, why, why?
    Grandstanding. It was all grandstanding for the Trannies and non-binaries. At least with lesbians we know who the husband is and who is the wife….who the butch one is and who is the princess. Guess non-binaries types like Sam Brinton, who is free to marry anyone of age, needed some language protection, lol.
