[No doubt Jackson, MS (thanks for correcting my MI blooper) is also a shithole city under Democrat rule, and has been for decades. Today’s water system breakdown is typical of how Soviet-style jurisdictions took care of their infrastructure with public monies going mainly into the pockets of corrupt politicians. Today’s mayor of Jackson is Chokye Antar Lumumba, a proud textbook socialist who describes himself as a “progressive, socialist, and political revolutionary”. Like with most of his ilk, maintaining a functioning infrastructure is not high on his governance to-do list. Again, the overwhelmingly black residents of the city continue to bring it on themselves. Yep- and…
Confusing ‘our govt’ with ‘the people currently in power running our govt’.
This nation’s biggest threat is China and the WEF.
But Biden is paid to keep his mouth shut about that.

About last night. I have not bother to read much this fine morning in September, save a brief post about ‘Biden’s Repulsive Speech’. Seems the optics overshadowed the words.
Per usual, our beloved fish bet me to it with his excellent 9:08 pm comment that seems to crystallize what the pundits are saying. Bad optics …not the background per se, but Creepy Joe being the bad optics.

He is of course referring to the Republican Party who because of Trumps control is in big trouble in the fall. I mean even Sarah Palin couldn’t even win a seat in Alaska of all places.
Dems are cruising in the Senate and rising in the polls.

About last night, part two…initial thoughts.
First up, Biden’s ever so acute press spokesperson, Karine Jean-Pierre:
“When you are not with what majority of Americans are, then you know, that is extreme. That is an extreme way of thinking.”
Now let’s take in a more complete expression of this thought about the rightfulness of the majority:
“If legality and illegality can be arbitrarily at the disposal of the majority, then the majority can, above all, declare their domestic competitors illegal, that is, hors-la-loi, thereby excluding them from the democratic homogeneity of the people. Whoever controls 51 percent would be able to render the remaining 49 percent illegal. The majority would be permitted to use legal means to close the door to legality, through which they themselves entered, and to treat partisan opponents like common criminals, who are then perhaps reduced to kicking their boots against the locked door.”
Who said this? Carl Schmitt, in Legality and Legitimacy (1932), the German thinker usually scorned by the left for his association with the Nazis. Maybe the staging of Biden’s speech wasn’t just a coincidence.
‘It was a dark speech. Dark and Gloomy. Dark, vary dark.’ —psul Emmerrhiod on Trump’s Inauguration Speech, Jan 2017. Vary Dark speech. Gloomy, dark.

“City will apply for $3M loan to help fund lead water service line replacement in Jackson Updated: Jun. 09, 2021”
“Still no state funding for Jackson to replace 11,000 lead water service lines Updated: Oct. 12, 2021”
“(October 12, 2021 4:20 PM) Over the next 35 years, more than 11,000 lead water service lines will be removed and replaced in the City of Jackson. With such a massive undertaking on the horizon, the City has launched Lining Up Jackson to keep residents in the loop.
By visiting cityofjackson.org/liningupjackson, residents can learn everything they need to know about the City’s lead line replacement program. This website features education on why the changes are happening, replacement progress, and upcoming construction schedules. A short video produced by the City gets residents up to date on Jackson’s plan to replace lead service lines.
The City’s $120 million plan to switch out all 11,339 lead service lines is being paid for by water rate increases, City funds and other governmental funding sources. So far, 335 service line replacements have been performed over the past three years, but hundreds of lines will need to be swapped out every year to keep up with the State of Michigan’s requirement.”

Good morning. Yep, sounds like Flint. It is not just a matter of replacing lead water pipes from the treatment plant (which is not that hard), but replacing the lead pipes in the home that is the real stickler. There is after all a point of demarcation when the city’s or water company’s responsibility ends and the homeowner’s responsibility ends. Newer houses do not lead pipes leading to the kitchen sink. as evidenced by two of Flint’s nine water sections that have no lead in the water problems. Those be the rich folks, lol. Nah, those two areas draw the same water as the rest of Flint does, except they be rich folks in newer homes.
Detroit has houses for sell for $8,000. Of course, the taxes on the abandoned homes are 10k a year, 20k in taxes to buy and get into the humble abodes.
BTW, Whole Foods, your middle initial isn’t the letter T is it?

Blogger Rebane appears to have misidentified Jackson MS as Jackson MI in his Sandbox intro.
The so called shithole city mayor has only been in office since 2017. The city’s water issues predate that mayor by many years.
“Wealthier white people fled Jackson, starting in the ’70s and ’80s, following the integration of public schools, which eroded the city’s tax base. Jackson is now nearly 83 percent Black, up from 47 percent Black in 1980, and roughly a quarter of its residents are below the poverty line. That means there’s far less public money for repairing the city’s infrastructure, some of which is more than 100 years old.
Ongoing tensions between the city and state have only made infrastructure upgrades more challenging. While spreading out the cost of repairs to the state would help cover the expenses, many white people in the suburbs aren’t compelled to help and many Jackson residents fear ceding control of such a vital service, Mississippi Today’s Anna Wolfe reported last year.
“It’s twofold,” Wolfe wrote. “Systemic racism is an unmistakable underlying cause for Jackson’s stripped resources, and while it may be clouded by a mutual distrust today, racism continues to prevent future investment.”

Well Scott, the good pastor Dr. Jeremiah Wright of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, upon retirement bought himself a fine 6 million dollar home in a rich white area of town. G-D America.
It’s called bettering one’s lot in life. It was a universal human trait in days gone by. Everybody wants out of the crime infested dangerous ghettos and barrios, and some do. Millions have and are as we speak. Some cannot get out for a variety of reasons. As Morgan Freeman told Don Lemon when asked about people who say ‘the game is rigged, I am stuck here’ because of racism, Morgan replied “Bull Shit.” In America today? Anyone can make it in America today. You and I leaving proof of that. Anyone can take the next bus out of town. I did. (He came from poverty shacks in Memphis during Jim Crow and has seem racism.). Then, yes. Now? Bull shit.

Taking a page from putins playbook –
As the speech concluded, images of the president standing before a red and black backdrop with military soldiers flanking his sides poured out all over social media, evoking comparisons with the Third Reich, the USSR, and even the gates of hell.
Even prominent Never Trumper Jonah Goldberg admitted the speech was a “terrible mistake.”

Already did, punch.
Even George Harrison caught crap for going to India to study with Ravi Shankar and then performing on the sitar. They appear to be a bunch of euro whities posing.

They are in the midst of a world tour. If you would have checked out their website which I gave you a link to you would have known that. Thats an example of self enforced ignorance-don’t expose yourself to anything that might enlighten you.
That’s what grants you membership in what Bill describes as the Circle of Jerks. Kinda sad, you being a musician not allowing yourself the freedom to explore new music and cultures.
