[As RR has argued for some years now, we Americans are competing with our enemies to see who will be the first to destroy the historical United States of America. So far, we are winning. Thomas Sowell echoes this with his 3aug22 ‘The Point of No Return’ that opens with, “This is an election year. But the issues this year are not about Democrats and Republicans. The big issue is whether this nation has degenerated to a point of no return — a point where we risk destroying ourselves, before our enemies can destroy us.” gjr]

My point is George is that this direct quote from Orbán is an indication as to how low the Republicans have stooped to find a hero. “We no longer want to become a mixed race” Direct quote from Orbán. So what does that mean? No interracial marriages and children? Can you explain that George? Also do conservatives oppose same sex marriages? I thought we were a free country and that conservatives support personal freedom. How do same sex marriages affect anybody’s personal freedom?

“Yeah, cause only the wealthy buy that natural gas stuff.” True dat.
If you think Robert X’sshaking his fist and yelling at the sky last winter over ‘$50 a day!’ for hauling in propane or gas for the gennie last winter during the prolonged outage for some people (not me), next winter 50 bucks a day will seem like a bargain.
What? Still on the grid? Bad Roberta, Bad.
Scott O, I got it all figured out. Since the sun don’t shine at night when you need electricity the most, I got it solved. Wind. Yep, wind power. Someone should come up with one of those propeller caps like in the Beanie and Cecil cartoons back in the day. Wire it up to create wind power enough to heat your electric blanket in the cold stormy winter nights. That someone is me. Problem solved.
The sun may not shine during the most foulest weather on a freezing ash winter’s night, but the wind is huffing and puffing and howling like it’s going to blow the place down. Plenty of wind power to be harnessed.
Haven’t worked out all the kinks yet, but it shows promise. 50 bucks a night? Ha!
1) The good thing is it will not cost much in upfront costs and will definitely heat your electric blanket all night long.
2) The downside is you have to sleep outdoors wearing your propeller hat. Kinda throws a wet blanket on the idea. The Matrix is not perfect.

BTW, when I was a kid, only the two rich fat spoiled kids in the area had their parents buy them the Beanie Propeller Hat. And to top that off, we did not have TV, so no Beanie and Cecil cartoons for me. I still check the boxes for double whammy victimhood grievous grievance(s).LikeLike

Hmm. Now we are getting somewhere in understanding The Problem.
C. S. Lewis once noted: “Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”

Punchy.
Many moons ago, I listened to a guy who was very upset. His cat whom he loved terribly had died. He told his roommate about the cat and the roommate did not appear upset or devastated like the guy was. So, he kicked his roommate out.
I told the grieving man that “It is an unreasonable request to expect another to feel the same way about your cat that you do.” He never talked to me again either.
Paul E, it is an u reasonable request to demand others to feel the same way as you do about Trump, local outdoor party noise ordinances, gay marriage, organized religion, Orban the Hungarian, guns, abortion, voter ID, public education, sodomy, shows in Sacramento, a ‘Go Back to Berkeley You Stink-Asses” sign someone slapped on a stop sign in Nevada City, or someone flying a Confederate flag in their front lawn in the very special Historical District one score and five years ago, aka, a quarter century under the bridge.
It is an unreasonable request to pester readers here to not only agree with you on every issue/event that grabs your attention, but to feel as you do about any topic under the sun….not to mention publicly denounce that which you denounce and call despicable.

The political news of the day is the passage of the shove-it-down-your-throat absurdity of the Inflation Reduction Act. What this country needs is a vastly expanded Internal Revenue Service! (said no sane person ever).
There is much more to be said and much more to come. I leave the subject this morning with the true question posed by the Inflation Reduction Act. Is the Democrats’ profound faith in the stupidity of the American people inflated or will it be vindicated in the midterm elections at which the bill is aimed?

The republicans really know how to pick them. Trumps guy Herschel walker was a great football player but he’s a sad human being. Check out the video on this add which is his ex wife talking about his violence towards her.
The ad shows excerpts of past interviews where Cindy DeAngelis Grossman accuses Walker of possessing “guns and knives,” choking her, and holding a gun to her head.
“He held the gun to my temple and said he was gonna blow my brains out,” Grossman says in the ad.
Walker had stated in the past that he suffers from a mental health condition called dissociative identity disorder, a condition that was formerly labeled as a split personality.

‘Progressives Trot out a Tired, Old Soros Trope to Smear Marco Rubio’
“Whenever a conservative criticizes Soros or points out the numerous political efforts of which he has been a part, progressives respond by pretending it’s an expression of anti-Semitism. That’s right; since Soros is Jewish, the left pretends he somehow represents all of Jewry–therefore, attacking him is attacking all Jews.
The left has been employing this trope for years. But in the latest episode of “Everyone Who Criticizes Soros Hates Jews,” Democrats went after Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), after he posted a tweet about Democrats shutting down a bill that would compel “Soros backed prosecutors” to actually do their jobs. “The democrats just blocked my effort to try & force Soros backed prosecutors to put dangerous criminals in jail,” Rubio tweeted.”

‘I apologize for my white baby’
How can I extol the virtues of anti-racism while birthing another white person?
“I’m here to apologize to my brothers and sisters of color — my white daughter’s pale skin has brought me nothing but shame. I have failed as an ally.
For if whiteness is the root cause of systemic racism, then what does that make me for having a white child? How can I extol the virtues of anti-racism and dismantle white supremacy while simultaneously birthing another white person? These two seem incompatible. If I were truly honoring my commitment to decolonizing white spaces, I would have had my tubes tied or had myself euthanized and done the BIPOC community and the planet a favor. I’m such a coward.
My therapists will have their work cut out for them this week. “Love is love,” unless you fall in love with a cishet white male. Then love isn’t love — it’s white privilege.”

I don’t think it is satire because I watched her video on one on the podcasts that show up on my FB feed a few days ago. If she was being sarcastic, her eyes, the cadence in her voice, and her body language told a different story. I thought it was fake as well in the print format, but don’t confuse the Spectator with the American Spectator. Who knows. It was to eerie for me.

The Great Reset has kicked it up four notches. They can’t wait until after the mid-terms. They are panicked…losing control, their tactics are not working as they have always worked. They can control the global media, the EU, the White House, the Congress and everything between here and the Davos Man, but they cannot control we the people. I knew they were panicking big time as their actions showed exactly that over the last few weeks. Almost posted just last night the timetable has been ratcheted up and they are panicked. Just last night I was going to post something big is going to break in the next week or few days, perhaps even Monday (today).
You know you are over the target by the amount of flack. Our pushback was not been an exercise in pissing in the wind, a few voices crying in the wilderness. Nah, they know to the first time they are losing control. It’s we the people and they can it control that.
The Great Reset is now. Scenes knows. Now I know. Yellen knows. And the Patriots know.LikeLike

The Revolution has begun….
“Revolution Has Begun”: 75,000 Brits To Stop Paying Power Bills Amid Inflation Storm
Last week, the UK government slammed the movement, calling it “highly irresponsible.”
“This is highly irresponsible messaging, which ultimately will only push up prices for everyone else and affect personal credit ratings,” a government spokesperson was quoted by The Independent.
Don’t Pay UK believes 6.3 million UK households will be pushed into power bill poverty this winter, with millions more feeling the stress of out-of-control inflation.
People on Twitter responded to the moment by saying, “the Revolution has begun” and “a bit of civil unrest on its way onto our streets & rightly so.”
Perhaps the movement’s involvement will be an excellent proxy for the growing discontent festering among Brits that could result in civil unrest this winter as millions will struggle with keeping the lights on, the furnace hot, and putting food on the table. “
