[Millions of workers are in their hammocks enjoying govt checks and depressing the labor participation rate to 62.3% from 63.4% at the end of Trump’s administration during which time it was increasing for the first time since the 2008 Great Recession. Yes, during the entire ‘Obama recovery’ more and more people were leaving their jobs. The participation rate includes worker with jobs and those actively looking for jobs. This makes the cited 3.6% unemployment rate a hokey statistic; millions more are sitting on their butts enjoying govt handouts while employers are looking for workers and paying excessive wages to those working. These high labor costs are another one of Biden’s Blunders which contributes to our soaring inflation. Bumblebrain has given new meaning to ‘loser’. gjr]

OK here’s something for you to ponder. I would consider voting for Dahle for Governor because I am not exactly a fan of Newsome. However that would depend on him doing a few things. First, show a distance from Trump and state that the election was not stolen. Second, support reasonable legislation supporting a woman’s right to choose and third continuing and strengthening California’s policies on Gun Control.
So George those are three issues off the top of my head that he would have to peruse if he has any hope of pealing off enough Dems to vote for him to win the election.
I met him a few times and I personally liked him.

PaulE 1131a – Forget about Trump, Biden is president until the Dems put him into the Shady Sunset Acres rest home. “Women’s right to choose” is a bullshit liberal term that only presses leftwing hot buttons. If you mean that a woman having reached majority can legally get an abortion through our healthcare system, then almost all Republicans are for it as long as it’s done sufficiently early, decided by the state, and the govt doesn’t automatically pay for it. But “strengthening California’s policies on Gun Control” is a non-starter. CA already has the absolute strongest gun controls which it haphazardly enforces, and is the country’s leader to completely abrogate 2A, making private possession of firearms illegal. Those who promote ratcheting gun controls are a dead giveaway of our nation’s ignoramouses who believe that a rogue govt, which already has opened its borders and fosters criminality across the nation, “can’t happen in America.”

Hmmmmm….
Didn’t Paul claim setting up govt run health care was important? What happened to that?
And how is Dahle supposed to know exactly what the details of Paul’s typical vague fantasies are concerning these laws and regs?
As long as Dahle starts acting like a Dem, Paul will vote for him.
Hilarious.

My statement was a very quick summary. Just as a test do you believe that Biden was elected President of the United State and the election was not stolen as the MAGA’s and Trump chant?

You write “forget about Trump” I’m sure you are aware that In poll after poll, about 70% of Republicans say they don’t think Joe Biden is the legitimate winner of the 2020 election. I could not support Dahle if he was one of those. I assume you are not part of that 70%

That doesn’t answer my question to you Paul, and you know it.
Instead, you just ask me a question.
You are claiming you would vote for Dahle if he could somehow read your mind and decipher what vague crap goes on in there.
And FYI – there is no “woman’s right to choose”.

Zero. Day of birth, borderline infanticide, if not infanticide. Your former 13 week limit sounded reasonable to you once, but that 1st trimester is out the window now. So is the 2nd trimester and the 3rd trimester…
A woman’s right to choose is in 2022 in Democrat Party speak is no limits, no restrictions, no reasonable nuthin’. The Killing fields of Black children of whom and where 60% of the PP Abortion are situated. Kill more black babies. Ever wonder why the Black population as not increased like the other minorities? Still stuck at 13% as other minorities increase their size and percentage of the population.

So Scott you are saying then that a woman does not have the right to choose to have an abortion. That implies that the government can choose to deny her that right as they have in Oklahoma for example.
From the Gov of Oklanoma
“I promised Oklahomans that as governor I would sign every piece of pro-life legislation that came across my desk and I am proud to keep that promise today,” the first-term Republican said in a statement. “From the moment life begins at conception is when we have a responsibility as human beings to do everything we can to protect that baby’s life and the life of the mother. That is what I believe and that is what the majority of Oklahomans believe.”
It seems you have no problem with this.

I will play with Paul, albeit is my uninvited and unsolicited opinion.
Paul, you have misread the leaked draf and the abortion issue. It’s all about State’ Rights…or rather prohibitions of the Federal Government. If the Constitution is silent on an issue then, per our Constitution setting up our Representative Republic, the issue belongs in the individual states to decide by local (state) representatives. It should have never been in the realm of the Federal Control.
Like you, we have been told about the right to abortion since around 73. So much so, we took it as a given. Roe may be overturned because 1) it was based on a faulty court decision and the issue is a States issue, not the Feds. Roe vs Wade has always been on shaky ground….and for good reason. It if was a right, it could not ever be taken away. The right to privacy between two gay men doing oral sex behind closed doors magically extended ‘privacy in one’s home (a reasonable expectation) to a right to abortion.
Here is the leaked draft. Alito’s reasoning is brillant, even if you do not agree. He addresses so many of the concerns and questions you and any reader may have. No, I did not read all of it (skimmed some parts), but his Constitutional arguments are tight.
https://s3.documentcloud.org/documents/21835435/scotus-initial-draft.pdf
Yes, Oklahoma will try to ban abortions. North Dakota’s fine Governor said she feels such a relief that the last remaining abortion clinic has been wiped from land of her state. Whether you like it or not, states with varying restrictions on abortions, from rape and incest only to first trimester to no restrictions (like CA) to day of birth/post birth like VA….all of these different abortion policies pretty much reflect the will of the people in the in those diverse states. Another example of the brilliance of our founding fathers mapping out of Federalist system. If OK bans abortion, head over the state line.
The State government is the Government that can tell a woman she can or cannot kill the unborn child in her womb. And ifI want to place a bet on the horses or a game, I have to drive to Nevada to do so. State tells me no.
Read up on Alito’s actual First Draft and get the actual words in your head..not some legal analyst who has no power at this point besides his/her opinion. Don’t trust Jeffery Tubing Toobin.

On the bright side, the pro-abortion folks have much to cheer about. They got their wish! No longer will old white men in robes tell a woman what she can and cannot do with her body! If Roe is overturned, it will be your State Legislators signed by your Governor than will tell a woman the rules for getting an abortion. Put those robes in the dust bin of history. 🙂

Using your line of reasoning and touting the reverence you give the Constitution let me ask you it that applies to the right” of some states to practice slavery which of course led to the civil war. There is no reference to slavery as far as I know in the Constitution or the right to citizenship for African Americans.

Is this a great fantastic country or what? Makes me proud to be an American. Only in America that slavery could be abolished in such a short time frame. Well Gregory with a woman’s right to choose being unconstitutional because it’s not specific in the Constitution how does that line of thinking apply to other situations that are not specific such as slavery, as an example. Can you show me in the constitution where that is specifically described as being Constitutional? Yes, in those days it was left up to the States. Hmmmm sounds familiar. From Bill “it will be your State Legislators signed by your Governor that will tell a woman the rules for getting an abortion.” Thats just like some states allowed slavery, others didn’t.
