   One might think it was all in the plan –
   But the result is that many adult Americans now cannot afford to live in the roomy suburban houses that were built decades ago for their middle-class American parents and their expanding families. Democrats in Virginia, Minnesota, Maryland, and other states are also pushing to de-zone suburbia.
   The de-zoning price-spike was described in a New York Times article about a Californian who buys, remodels, and flips single-family suburban houses into multi-family dwellings:
   His company bought 5120 Baxter Street for $700,000. He estimates the house would rent for $3,300 a month with a few renovations. Instead he spent about $400,000 building the new units and splitting the house, and believes he will get between $9,000 and $10,000 a month in rent across the property.
   That return would increase the property’s value to about $1.7 million. The price would be galling to an aspiring homeowner who might have outbid another family before losing to Mr. Spicer and now feels cheated out of the American dream.
   “My biggest fear is developers are pricing everybody out of the market,” said Pattie Estrada, a 59-year-old commercial loan processor.
   The article is titled: “Where the Suburbs End: A single-family home from the 1950s is now a rental complex and a vision of California’s future.”
   The state’s historic decision to break suburbia comes after millions of legal and illegal immigrants were invited by the federal government into California’s housing market, despite deep but disorganized public opposition.
   There are big winners from all this from all this population growth in these urban areas. One of the big winners is landlords, including corporate landlords.
   But there’s no question that California housing is increasingly unaffordable [for families] and the cost per square foot is way up relative to average wages. So housing is just way less affordable, and the ability of people to trade up or even to buy their first home is being affected.
   Migration has also stalled California salaries. For example, mid-income wages in California rose just 2.9 percent in 21 years — or roughly 0.1 percent per year — according to the establishment-funded Population Reference Bureau. During the same period, the Dow Jones index grew 100 times faster because of higher corporate profits.
   Reporters and analysts have downplayed the burden of higher housing prices, Camarota said, adding:
   Whenever people talk about the consequences of immigration in the establishment media, it’s always in the context of how great it is. It drives down wages, but they never say it that way. “It holds costs down for consumers” is the way it’s presented. They don’t ever say “It make houses unaffordable.” They say “It increases equity.”
   Nationwide, migration is deeply unpopular because of its economic impact. It damages ordinary Americans’ career opportunities, cuts their wages, raises their rents, curbs their productivity, shrinks their political clout, widens regional wealth gaps, and wrecks their democratic, equality-promoting civic culture.
   For many years, a wide variety of pollsters have shown deep and broad opposition to labor migration and the inflow of temporary contract workers into jobs sought by young U.S. graduates. This pocketbook opposition is multiracial, cross-sex, non-racist, class-based, bipartisan, rational, persistent, and recognizes the solidarity that Americans owe to each other.

   Of course I can and I know all about him, Barry. George has expressed his opinion of Alinsky’s philosophy and work primarily as a community organizer and has stated his opinion as facts and not opinions. George has compiled his philosophy into what George describes as “a set of eight rules for restructuring the country into a compliant communist state”. Those are purely the opinions of George Rebane and no one else’s. He was known primarily a community organizer not a left wing militant as George defines him.
   He wasn’t even targeted by the McCarthy hearings in the 50’s.

    That he was not high profile enough for the hearings does not change the fact he was deeply entwined with the American communist party and was honored by them oh great ponytail of ignorance @824 and by the way, the community organizer moniker did not exist before the rules for radicals.

    District officials confirmed Gipe had political signage in his classroom and, using his own money, purchased a series of rubber stamps to mark students’ work, including stamps with images of Josef Stalin, Fidel Castro and Kim Jung Un.
    “After an investigation, Mr. Gipe was recommended for termination because he had violated many policies, Ed Code, and more,” read a statement from Natomas Unified. “As we shared, there are nearly 400 pages of charges and evidence. Mr. Gipe was actively teaching pro-communism ideology in a US Government class.”
    The undercover video quoted Gipe saying, “I have 180 days to turn them (students) into revolutionaries … Scare the s— out of them.” He also discussed how the antifa flag shouldn’t make students feel uncomfortable, only fascists. Gipe had apparently agreed to meet the person who recorded him after that person said they were considering enrolling their child in a Natomas school.
    The district said in its statement that students “interviewed shared how uncomfortable they felt in (Gipe’s) class based on his teachings. These were students of different ethnicities and socioeconomic backgrounds.

    Alinsky was a collectivist. He truly believed you could lift a person up only through their participation in a group. He saw humans as innately good and they only were evil due to outside forces.
    Like all collectivists he was unable to see the irony of the fact that he was able to be that powerful person all on his own. He was – like all collectivists – an elitist. He didn’t need a group to be who he was, but the ‘little people’ would. His idea of democracy was just mob rule and that was fine as long as he was in charge of the mob.
    Like all leftists, his talk of empowering people was BS. A truly powerful person doesn’t need a group and what use does a collectivist have for that kind of person? Just being against obvious evils like segregation don’t make you automatically a good person if the road you take is destructive.

    “There’s going to be a reckoning” Hanson told “Tucker Carlson Tonight.” “I think whether it’s Mexican-American communities on the border or where I live, or soccer moms mad about what’s being taught in schools, it’s not a top down, woke revolution. It’s a grassroots populist revolution. We’re going to see it in the next midterms I think a lot of these institutions are going to rue the positions they’ve taken and the damage they’ve done.”
    Hanson was asked about Biden’s vaccine mandate during his appearance Thursday. Carlson said the mandate is expected to render inoperable U.S. hospitals, airlines, police departments, fire departments, and other long-term care facilities. Hanson echoed the host’s concerns with the executive order, calling it just one of several “unsustainable” policies put forth by this administration.
    “It’s not Tucker Carlson that’s saying this alone,” Hanson said. “It’s Barack Obama who says the border is unsustainable. Or Larry Summers saying the economic agenda won’t work. Or senators on the Democratic side said Afghanistan is a disaster. It’s everybody saying ‘what’s going on? We’ve never seen anything like it,” Hanson remarked.
    “Is it incompetence? Accidental? Is it non-compos mentis problems with the president,” he continued, “or is by design an, anarchy, a chaos, a nihilism…to have an agenda that doesn’t pull on any of its items 50 percent but through the sheer fear of this chaotic, anarchic, ‘we are going to have a new agenda that is socialist, and nobody knows…’”

    Even the Norwegian police do not carry guns! (Or bows/arrows evidently.)
    “Police had initially confronted the man six minutes after the attack began at 18:12 on Wednesday, but he shot several arrows at the officers and escaped. He was caught at 18:47 – 35 minutes after the attack started. The police chief said all five victims were most likely killed after officers first encountered him.
    Police fired warning shots when the man was eventually arrested, but it is not clear if officers were armed when they first came across the suspect. Norwegian police do not usually carry guns on them.
    …owners are not required to register them (bow/arrow), although they must be used at designated archery ranges.”
    Maybe the town re-licensed grocery stores as archery ranges without telling the shoppers.
    Warning shots – must have been to warn the unarmed citizens that a convert to the religion of peace was out and about.

    I was musing about Paul’s Question Time(tm) and the inevitable ‘SO XXXX, DO YOU AGREE WITH YYYY???’ and the complete lack of research into the topic (Alinsky in this case). Intellectual laziness not being new in that quarter of course.
    And, of course, Alinsky is not a ‘Leftist’, he was a ‘Community Organizer’.
    Which led me to my own question, and I kind of have to nose around the thing to get the odor of the land. Perhaps Alinsky really wasn’t a Leftist because ‘Leftism’ has changed so much. It’s like trying to understand 19 C. politics by applying modern bias. Political historian’s fallacy.
    My guess is that the Left has changed so radically (so to speak) since the 1930-1960s to now that it really isn’t the same thing at all. The metastasizing of government has made authoritarians out of all dominant political groups, but the main interests of the current Left sound dissimilar to days of yore. What was interest in unions (working class, not teachers’) or public health care turned into thought crimes concerning Western history and Men In Dresses.
    We probably need a new vocabulary for defining current mass movements.

    re: Community Organizers
    Obviously they’ve always existed. In prior times, their main job was to drag murderers out of jail for summary justice or to burn the occasional witch.
    The modern variety acts from an ecclesiastical stance I’d say. Like ol’ Blaise Pascal sez: “Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction.”
