[The genesis of our wildfires. Here’s a topic everyone is afraid of discussing. Almost all of our wildfires are manmade – they are started by indigents, crazies, and people with a political agenda. The fires started by accidents and natural causes are well-known, few and far in between. However, our politicians, liberal activists, and media of all hues treat western wildfires as if they were ‘acts of God’, and therefore their genesis need not be questioned, let alone examined, any further. Given the number of annual wildfires, notice how rare is there any subsequent mention of arson investigations or what these may have discovered. It seems that the ‘vulnerable underprivileged’ have a natural right to start fires and then be left alone. And it is not a stretch to imagine the damage anti-American terrorists can do in a free country by simply setting wildfires with easily fabricated, time-delayed pyrotechnic devices. But from what the public sees, our authorities neither suspect nor pursue such errant behavior – the fires just magically flare up and cause totally acceptable devastation. gjr]

Toes, it’s been slim pickings at the national level for 40+ years, but I can laugh at myself… a survival skill for thoughtful libertarians and Libertarians.
At some point a principled party with 50 state ballot access may get traction.
I can hold my nose and vote for the occasional LaMalfa when being challenged by a true loon like Denney, and hold my nose to vote for a Ben Emery when McClintock was a shoo in… I had so hoped for Clint Curtis (deemed D-Uranus by the lefty free rag back in his native florida) to be beaten to 2nd placeby our Ben, though I’d not even done that had I realized he lied in his Bio about being a Nursing student with high grades.
I only bear ill will towards Uncle Milty Friedman, who screwed the pooch during the ’92 campaign on the old McNeil/Lehrer Report on PBS. He was asked by McNeil to rate the candidates’ economic views and he shocked the hell out of the guy on the air by saying only the Libertarian candidate, Andre Marrou, made any sense at all… McNeil followed up with “Does he have any chance of winning” and Friedman, rather than saying something like, it depends on whether he gets covered by the media and included in debates, just said no, he doesn’t.
Marrou was very good at preaching to the choir. Not so good at persuading the folks who just wanted the gravy train to continue.

It was just last March that the WH circulated the memo to direct all staff to henceforth refer to the Biden Administration as the ‘Biden-Harris Administration’, accentuated in bold print. Seems like there was been much bad blood between the Biden side and the Harris side of the equation since the March decree. The old of sight basement campaign worked great for Joe Biden and appears to be Harris’s new strategy. The more you see, the less you like.
Reminds me of Bill Clinton’s first year. The more his wife talked about cookie recipes, the more the first lady’s numbers went up. The more she talked about Washington policy and healthcare, the more her numbers went down. She was better suited to stay away from the political issues and cameras and better suited for sharing cookie recipes behind the scenes.
