[ (Critical Race Theory) isn’t really education at all, not in the sense in which the term has been understood in the post-Enlightenment era. It is closer to pre-Enlightenment religious instruction: the imparting of doctrinal truth with the practical aim of saving souls and reordering the world. Hence its migration from college campuses to K-12 schools, where its practitioners expect to find supple and more-suggestible minds. They have taken to heart the old Jesuit maxim about the first seven years of life. – Gerard Baker in the 22jun21 WSJ (here)]

Crabb’s latest in The Union is the ugliest misrepresentation yet by the crabbman.
Invented partisan history.
How to count the ways? One, there have been a number of attempts to find mass graves of uncounted victims using modern equipment… nothing has yet been found. Also, if a mass grave is ever found, the bones will be of dead black Republicans, and their killers will have been mostly white Democrats. Klansmen were Democrats, after all.
Crabb, you should be ashamed of yourself.

President Biden’s approval rating among voters in the state of Iowa has plummeted in recent months.
More Iowans disapprove of the job Biden is doing than approve – Biden has a 43% approval rating and 52% disapproval rating, according to a recent Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa poll. Five percent of people polled said they are not sure whether they approve or disapprove.

It covers a number of covid related items, including a letter from a large (Belgian) group of MDs/health folks. None of the bulleted items were ever implemented, including questioning the value of the WHO, or a call on politicians to inform themselves independently and critically about the available evidence – including that from experts with different views.

Reality bites another millionaire eco dilatant in the ass –
But local activists insist that his project is invasive and will “destroy the fish breeding grounds” there.
“Groups like Defend Blackadore Caye and Bonefish & Tarpon Trust organized campaigns against the resort with reported $5M-$15M ‘living homes,’ research station, residents club, and an anti-aging center,” the paper reported.
DiCaprio has spent years acting as a climate change activist but has made headlines for various eco controversies, like in 2016 when he flew 8,000 miles across Europe and the U.S. on gas-guzzling private jets. It was just one month after he told the United Nations that “our planet cannot be saved, unless we leave fossil fuels in the ground, where they belong.”
The protesters also slammed DiCaprio’s claims that his plans are eco-friendly. They say his ideas are far less green than he and his developers claim.
“For DiCaprio to label this plan as environmentally conscious is just a sales pitch,” tour company operator Rebecca Arceo, adding, “He’s a complete hypocrite in my opinion. Fly fishing is a huge deal in Belize for the tourism industry. To call his plan green is totally disgusting.”
Locals were also incensed that a rich guy from Hollywood came to their homes and claimed he was there to “heal” them by building a resort for foreign millionaires, the Mail reported.

‘A Court Ruled Rachel Maddow’s Viewers Know She Offers Exaggeration and Opinion, Not Facts’
“Maddow’s show is different than a typical news segment where anchors inform viewers about the daily news,” an Obama-appointed judge ruled.
“Viewers expect her to do so, as it is indeed her show, and viewers watch the segment with the understanding that it will contain Maddow’s “personal and subjective views” about the news. See id. Thus, the Court finds that as a part of the totality of the circumstances, the broad context weighs in favor of a finding that the alleged defamatory statement is Maddow’s opinion and exaggeration of the Daily Beast article, and that reasonable viewers would not take the statement as factual. . . .
Here, Maddow had inserted her own colorful commentary into and throughout the segment, laughing, expressing her dismay (i.e., saying “I mean, what?”) and calling the segment a “sparkly story” and one we must “take in stride.” For her to exaggerate the facts and call OAN Russian propaganda was consistent with her tone up to that point, and the Court finds a reasonable viewer would not take the statement as factual given this context. The context of Maddow’s statement shows reasonable viewers would consider the contested statement to be her opinion. A reasonable viewer would not actually think OAN is paid Russian propaganda, instead, he or she would follow the facts of the Daily Beast article; that OAN and Sputnik share a reporter and both pay this reporter to write articles. Anything beyond this is Maddow’s opinion or her exaggeration of the facts.
In sum, ruled the court, Rachel Maddow is among those “speakers whose statements cannot reasonably be interpreted as allegations of fact.” Despite Maddow’s use of the word “literally” to accuse OAN of being a “paid Russian propaganda” outlet, the court dismissed the lawsuit on the ground that, given Maddow’s conduct and her audience’s awareness of who she is and what she does, “the Court finds that the contested statement is an opinion that cannot serve as the basis for a defamation claim.””
https://greenwald.substack.com/p/a-court-ruled-rachel-maddows-viewers
Oh my. Looks like our local lefties just got pegged. They are not “reasonable viewers” without or without brains, lol
“In concluding that Maddow’s statement would be understood even by her own viewers as non-factual, the judge emphasized that what Maddow does in general is not present news but rather hyperbole and exploitation of actual news to serve her liberal activism……”
“The judge’s observations about the specific segment at issue — in which Maddow accused a competitor of being “literally paid Russian propaganda” — was even more damning. Maddow’s own viewers, ruled the court, not only expect but desire that she will not provide the news in factual form but will exaggerate and even distort reality in order to shape her opinion-driven analysis (emphasis added):
….and the Court finds a reasonable viewer would not take the statement (Rachel Maddcow’s) as factual given this context.
The Courts also found that reasonable viewers know that Roberta Maddcow is full of beans, the magical fruit.

Byron York’s Daily Memo: Democrats’ voter ID debacle
DEMOCRATS VOTER ID DEBACLE. We’ve known for many years that most Americans favor laws requiring voters to produce identification in order to vote. Democrats who passionately claim that voter ID is discriminatory do not have the public on their side.
Sometimes a new poll comes along at just the right time. And now, as Democrats push a draconian “voting rights” bill that would federalize elections under rules favorable to Democratic candidates, a new poll shows just how unpopular voter ID is. The poll came as Democratic Senator Joe Manchin pushed changes to his party’s bill, including a provision to add a voter ID requirement.
On Monday, Monmouth University released a survey covering a number of voting proposals. Among the questions, the pollsters asked was: “In general do you support or oppose requiring voters to show a photo ID in order to vote?”
The headline is that 80 percent of those surveyed — a huge majority — favored photo ID. Just 18 percent said they opposed. That left just two percent who didn’t know, which means that voter ID is an issue about which most Americans have a considered opinion.
Now look inside the numbers. Among Republicans, 91 percent supported photo ID. Among independents, 87 percent. And among Democrats, 62 percent. Democratic leaders in Washington know that a solid majority of their own voters support a measure some of them have been denouncing for years.
Looking at the results along racial lines, 77 percent of white voters supported photo ID — and 84 percent of non-white voters supported it, too. Along educational lines, 69 percent of Americans with a four-year college degree favored ID, and 85 percent of those with no degree favored it. When divided by age, 78 percent of Americans age 18 to 34 supported it, 82 percent of those 35 to 54 supported it, and 79 percent of people 55 and older supported it. And on the income scale, 81 percent of people who make less than $50,000 a year supported ID, while 82 percent of people who make between $50,000 and $100,000 supported it, and 76 percent of people who make more than $100,000 supported it.
Bottom line: Americans support voter ID. They just do. And now, with Manchin’s voter ID proposal and the Monmouth poll, Stacey Abrams, the failed Democratic candidate for governor Georgia who has become the party’s voting-rights heroine, has flip-flopped on the issue and now says she not only supports voter ID but that she has never opposed it.
“That’s one of the fallacies of Republican talking points that have been deeply disturbing,” Abrams said on CNN recently. “No one has ever objected to having to prove who you are to vote. It’s been part of our nation’s history since the inception of voting.”
Republicans were quick to point to Abrams has in fact long denounced voter ID. Look at this exchange on CNN from October 2018, when Abrams was running for governor:
QUESTION: Your opponent, Republican Secretary of State Brian Kemp, says that those 53,000 voters can still vote on Election Day if they show an ID at the polls. Why is that not good enough?
ABRAMS: The problem is two-fold. One is that you have 53,000 who — people who are being forced to go through unnecessary hurdles to prove their bona fides. But the second is that you have 159 counties, thousands of volunteer and paid poll workers who are going to be asked to substantially verify that these IDs are sufficient. And the challenges there is, this is a subjective standard…This is simply a redux of a failed system that is designed to both scare people out of voting and make it harder for those who are willing to push through, make it harder for them to vote.
As recently as this April, Abrams was making the same argument. Other Democrats, like Georgia Senator Raphael Warnock, are also trying to move away from earlier statements.
It’s actually a healthy process. What is happening is that some party leaders had gotten so carried away with fringe proposals, surfing on the support of activists and Twitter voices, that they lost touch with the opinions of their own voters. Now, with Manchin and the Monmouth poll, they are becoming reacquainted with their voters’ views. That’s a good thing.
Quote unquote.
The Champ on the ropes is waiting for us to wear ourselves out, then bam, bam, out goes the lights. He is just biden his time.

“According to the firm’s May survey, Biden’s approval numbers are trending down. Perhaps more importantly, his disapproval numbers are rising sharply.
In the Real Clear Politics average, Biden’s approval rating has drifted down to 52.3% as of June 22, which equals his previous low as president. Meanwhile, his current disapproval average has spiked to 43.6%, just shy of his previous high, and up from 36% at the close of his first week in the White House. (One caveat: The majority of the polls factored into his latest averages do not reflect his recent performance in Europe.)
During a Monday appearance on “Just the News AM,” McLaughlin repeatedly cited “upside down” support among independents as a particularly ominous sign for the future of the Biden presidency’s popular standing. The president is now underwater among these crucial swing voters, with 47% approving and 51% disapproving. Just 44% of independent voters believe the country is headed in the “right direction,” which McLaughlin says is likely a bellwether for 2022 voting patterns.
The president’s approval has fallen to just 44% among white voters and 47% with likely 2022 male voters. Female voters, however, remain heavily pro-Biden, giving him a 59% approval rating, while a resounding 87% of African-American voters give him a thumbs-up.“

Ah, so now it’s GOOD to send the feds into the crime-ridden cities.
What a different tune the Dems are singing!
https://www.breitbart.com/crime/2021/06/23/doj-launches-firearms-trafficking-strike-forces-democrat-controlled-cities/
This ought to be interesting to watch. What are they actually planning to do – ‘stop ‘n frisk’? Execute no-knock warrants? Ask politely that they turn in their illegal weapons?
Will we get a breakdown of skin color of those actually arrested?
Will ‘underserved communities’ be targeted?
Film at 11!

To follow on with just how the feds will ‘crack down’ on gun violence:

Total hilarity – “Around $350 billion in federal funds will be used to hire additional law enforcement officers…”
So – they ‘defund’ the police at the local level and then the American tax payers back fill the gap. Pretty cool.
““This is a historic amount of funding that the President is making available to cities and states through the American Rescue Plan to invest in a range of tools to reduce gun violence in their communities,” a senior administration told Time.”
Yeah, all it takes is more and more money.
The gang bangers will learn quick. Shoot the place up and watch the pallets of money flow in. I guess the trick is to reward bad behavior and then the bad behavior stops?
And the best is for last –
“…the administration is also expected today to announce plans to implement a policy that revokes licenses from dealers the first time they violate federal law, according to Axios.”
Ya mean like selling fire arms to known crack addicts who lie on their applications?

Well, of course.
Here, check this out. There’s no homerun of craziness, but it’s worth a look-see.

The girl on the bottom is KP Alvarez. It’s a bunch of children emitting word salad. Getting involved in the Cold Civil War is essentially the only way these folks can achieve any sort of status. In a sane world no one would give a damn what they had to say about anything, but these are not sane times. They are simply surfing a wave and I can’t say that I blame them.

Where is our voting expert Emery?
I’m sure he has a real good explanation for this.
“California’s November 3, 2020 election was marred by significant voting and registration irregularities, says the Election Integrity Project® California, Inc. (EIPCa), the California Globe reported. There are 1.8 million more registered voters than eligible citizens and that’s only one of the irregularities.”

Walt 510pm – To a progressive wearing their election-integrity blinders (e.g. PaulE), there can be no evidence of election fraud or irregularity until it is successfully prosecuted. That is a pernicious definition of reality that all leftists hold dear to their heart, no matter how strong is the extra-judicial evidence to counter it. And that is why for them the 2020 election was squeaky clean.

It looks to me like they just want people to time shift their car charging activities outside of peak usage hours…along with all the normal ‘put your thermostat at 78 degrees, don’t run your dryer, etc’ sort of verbiage.
The sad thing to me is that the natural side effect of shortages is attempts to smooth the usage rather than to increase capacity (‘smart’ appliances, etc). You end up running the whole system at the ragged edge constantly, a funny side effect of getting clever with all of this. When it breaks, it’s really gonna break.

It as “squeaky Clean” according to Trumps Attorney General Barr as well who was quoted saying ” “to date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have affected a different outcome in the election.”
In particular, Barr mentioned one claim made by the president’s supporters that voting machines were programmed somehow to skew the results. Barr said the Justice Department and the Department of Homeland Security looked into those allegations and said they had not found anything to substantiate them.

Early NYC mayoral results deal blow to teachers’ union
“We need to identify those charter schools that are failing and those are the schools we need to replace with the schools who are doing a good job. The goal is to scale up excellence,” Adams said according to Politico. “We have too many charter schools and district schools that are not meeting the standards that are needed … to talk about caps and non-caps is just the wrong conversation. What we’re capping is excellence.”
Adams, a former captain in the New York City Police Department and the current Brooklyn borough president, was considered the front-runner heading into the primary vote, according to an average of recent polls. He has pledged to lead a crackdown on gun violence and reform law enforcement tactics even as he rejected calls among some contenders to “defund” the police.

And then there’s this report on the Republican investigation into Michagan elections who affirmed that there was no fraud. Here’s a quote from the main autho of the report, Sen. Ed McBroom, R-Vulcan “no evidence of widespread or systematic fraud,”
From the Detroit News:
“Lansing — A long-awaited report on the 2020 election from a GOP-controlled Michigan Senate committee recommended that Democratic Attorney General Dana Nessel consider investigating individuals who pushed false claims “to raise money or publicity for their own ends.”
The suggestion was among the most striking details of the Senate Oversight Committee’s recap of a months-long examination of the presidential election. The report was released Wednesday with its main author, Sen. Ed McBroom, R-Vulcan, saying he found “no evidence of widespread or systematic fraud,” contradicting months of assertions from some members of his own party, including former President Donald Trump.
“The committee finds those promoting Antrim County as the prime evidence of a nationwide conspiracy to steal the election place all other statements and actions they make in a position of zero credibility,” the report said.
