[Over the last week or so, the evil party has done everything it could to divide us further and pander to their ultra-left faction and black constituents by hammering the centenary of the Tulsa massacre over every possible channel and at every possible event. After dredging up the terrible details of that riot of the whites, these were repeated ad nauseum over the days as it awakened and drew predictable expressions of rage from the Left and black leaders. Does anyone think that this kind "racial catharsis" has left us more united? (more here) gjr]

In case y’all missed the latest trump news:
Going the way of Trump Airlines, Trump beverages, Trump: The Game, numerous Trump casinos, Trump magazine, Trump Mortgage, Trump Steaks, a Trump travel website, Trump telecom, Trump University, and Trump Vodka, the mega trump website “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump,” has tanked as well and is shutting down after less than one month of operation. More of a blog than a ‘communications platform’ the website saw 159,000 visits on its opening day. Followers diminished to less than 15,000 three days later and now the site is closing. The idea was to have visitors to share Trump’s long-winded posts on their own social media accounts in an effort to replace facebook and twitter which banned him. Apparently, much like the 2020 election, that didn’t work and was a dismal failure..which is about par for a trump course even if, like trump, you cheat at golf.

Herby 11:30 – No, Herb – the R’s aren’t downplaying the ‘significance’ of the Tulsa massacre and America’s racist past.
The time for justice for all of that is long dead and gone. White people in the US have zero responsibility for the actions of other people long gone. The idiot notion that blacks living now in poverty are in that condition because of Tulsa is just that – an idiot notion.
Several generations of folks of all skin colors have legally come to the US and made a good (if not a wealthy) living here with real estate holdings and large estates to pass down to their heirs. All while the Dem ‘plantation’ blacks suffer in the Dem run inner cities.
It’s the Dems running a constant victim hood and grievance dog and pony show to try to keep the poor blacks off the scent that the Dems have ill-used the support of the blacks and that the poor blacks remain so no what ‘progressive’ nostrums the left want doled out.

HerbertL 1130am – Conservative outlets have covered every one of Biden’s events in which he focused on Tulsa. But you’re right, Republicans have a totally different motivation for their appropriate scope of coverage, which does include the desire to unify. As you properly acknowledge, that is not the objective of the Democrat Party despite Biden’s early bullshit to the contrary.
Every nation that desires to perpetuate itself teaches its history in the best possible light; those who seek its destruction (e.g. “fundamental transformation”) characterize its history in the worst possible light. That for building a case that there is no reason to perpetuate failure/evil. America has for decades been the most self-critical country in the world, but always tempering such criticisms to serve maintaining a continuum in which course corrections can be made without sinking the ship of state. That kind of governance does not support the single-party socialist revolution which the Democrats have been surreptitiously promoting for years, and now have become blatant about it with their lurch to the left.

San Francisco values indeed –
Nuru resigned his post last year after being charged with fraud and lying to the FBI. Prosecutors allege he took thousands of dollars in gifts and cash from contractors. They also allege that he conspired with a restaurateur in 2018 to bribe an airport commissioner for prime restaurant space at San Francisco International Airport.
Nuru’s case is still in the courts.
In February, a recycling plant owner was sentenced to federal prison after stating in a plea agreement that he plied Nuru with gifts that included a $36,500 gold Rolex watch.
About a dozen people have been charged with corruption in a sweeping City Hall probe. Multiple city department heads have been forced to resign.

Here is yet another example of what a loser Trump is. His much heralded blog tanked in only a month. And the RR’s think he going to be President again. What a hoot!!!
“Trump’s ‘Communications Platform’ Fails After Just 1 Month
The blog goes the way of so many other Trump-branded products.
A “communications platform” former President Donald Trump launched in early May as a means to reach his followers is shutting down after usage tanked.
Trump senior aide Jason Miller justified the site’s forced retirement to CNBC on Wednesday, saying it was “auxiliary to the broader efforts we have and are working on.”
Miller declined to elaborate on those efforts, but did confirm the website “will not be returning.”
A Trump adviser told The Washington Post on the condition of anonymity that the former president was upset that people were mocking his blog instead of reading it.”

Insight: “A man always has two reasons for what he does — a good one, and the real one.” —J. P. Morgan (1837-1913)
Upright I: “You can’t be cowed by … woke corporations from doing the right thing. … And so if the price of having a [sports] tournament is that I have to deny equal opportunity to hundreds of thousands of young girl and women athletes throughout Florida, I am much more willing to stand with the girls. And to hell with these events.” —Florida Governor Ron DeSantis
Upright II: “Parents of all ethnicities who never dreamed of getting involved in politics need to step up now. Parents are already outraged by the indoctrination their kids are getting in school. … It’s time to shift from complaining to fighting for control of local school boards. These boards hire superintendents, set policies and have the clout to stop critical race theory. Except in large cities, such as New York, school boards are where the power is. … Of course, schools should teach about America’s past failures, along with its triumphs, and probe racial injustice where it still exists. But of paramount importance, young people should learn that their character and deeds matter more than their race.” —Betsy McCaughey
For the record: “If there is one reason why problems associated with race in America persist, it is because we pretend to address problems caused by one sin by exchanging them with other sins. … As a starter, let us consider that … [Biden] sent an unprecedented $6 trillion federal budget to Congress that, for the first time ever, omits the longstanding Hyde Amendment. … So, while Biden issued one proclamation recalling the tragedy of a massacre of Black Americans [in Tulsa], he now wants new federal policy that would use federal funds to subsidize another massacre. … Abortion undermines the values of the traditional family. And traditional family values provide the offramp from the cycle of poverty. The persistence of problems in Black communities stems from federal policies that pretend to fight the sin of racism with the sins of the destruction of life and family.” —Star Parker
Re: The Left: “The goal of many on the left these days is not clarification but obfuscation, particularly on racial issues. Data is not only unnecessary; it’s reviled. If the left wishes to promote the argument that racial inequalities are the result of historic injustices, one would hope that someone would bother quantifying to what extent those inequalities are the result of individual decisions versus the result of other factors.” —Ben Shapiro
Political theater: “The Democratic opposition to legislative minorities using whatever leverage they have to block legislation is highly situational. In Washington, D.C., where Democrats control the White House and both chambers of Congress, the Senate filibuster is portrayed as a Jim Crow relic that is profoundly undemocratic. In Austin, Texas, where Republicans control the governor’s mansion and both chambers of the legislature, House Democrats walking out to prevent the passage of a bill with majority support is portrayed as a heroic act preserving our democracy.” —Rich Lowry
Exactly: “[Donald Trump] touched the nerve of people who felt left out by globalization, who felt diminished by elites. He touched the hearts of people by saying, ‘You know, you contribute too, and they’ve forgotten you. They look down on you.’ And that’s something that we need to still pay attention to.” —Condoleezza Rice
Straight from the horse’s mouth: “Joe and the administration are essentially finishing the job.” —Barack Obama
And last… “To save religious liberty, we must save our families and their children from the extreme secular-progressivism that pervades our current system of public schools.” —former Attorney General William Barr

Safe and sound. Couldn’t see much because it was down in a draw from my place. I saw a plum of brown smoke through the trees, heard the fire trucks on their way, saw the sky with multiple aircraft, saw that big tanker that looks like a Southwest airliner, saw white smoke, then saw no smoke. Heard the range had a small fire that they let burn to clean out the already burned grass to make it more fire safe. Hutto was a Nothingburger here, neighbors and moi barely paid it more the a few glances. Heard the Hutto neighbors had dragged out hoses someone had a water truck that kept it from exploding until the calvary arrived. All calm up here on Serenity Hill.
Thanks for the concern. Very much appreciated.

Walt @ 7:31 am
Oh brother Walt. Remember that Paul Empty has stated (boasted) on the record at least two times here that the ONLY reason he posts is to jab, jab, jab and eventually wear the opponent down. No other reason. His so-called questions are just smoke and mirrors to disguise the real intent to jab, jab, jab. He has found much solace in that Trump was the worse President since Teddy Roosevelt….. according to his metrics….in case you have not noticed.
I do find pleasure in Paul Empty calling us the circle of jerks out of one side of his mouth while simultaneously decrying personal attacks out the other side of his cheeks.
Couldn’t have said it better: “He should stick with that and not be in politics.” Agreed. Now he is a professional musician, not a professional News Misdirector anymore. And he played for the Queen despite his intense animosity of England, the brutal Pillager of the Sheep People. God save the Queen.
And the most hilarious thang yet is Empty appears to be the only local white male that is exempt from what happened in Tulsa 100 years ago. I hold Empty accountable for Tulsa because of dastardly deeds committed by his inherited white privileged, his forefathers, and the color of Empty’s skin. Those lefties are all Woodrow Wilsons.
100 years ago the biggest pandemic the 21st Century had known was sweep across America and was called the Spanish Flu by those racists.

that’s a legitimate question and here’s my answer. Without going back to find my quote I meant to say and have been saying in the past that he’s the greatest loser since before Teddy Roosevelt which does not imply that Roosevelt was a loser that’s just using Roosevelt as a marker in time. I could have said “since before 1900”. Roosevelt didn’t become President till 1901. Thank’s for noting my error.

Punchy… even at The Union, stories and people were censored regarding HCQ, regarding the origin of the virus… until a week ago. Oooops.
Why? Because Trump was calling it the China Virus and praised HCQ. I prefer to call it SARS2 now… or the Wuhan SARS to distinguish it from the Guangdong SARS of 2003/4, now literally named SARS-CoV-1.
Worldwide, people were censored by Facebook for posting links from the NY Post, the oldest newspaper in the USA, on Hunter Biden and dealings of the Biden family in Chinna.
When the US monitors elections in the world, we go ‘tsk tsk when we see one party domination of news media. Why? Because free elections are not possible without a free press.
The sitting President of the US was tossed off the platforms he’d been using to bypass the US press… Facebook and the twits… and the thing that was deactivated after only a month was yet another workaround around the blocking of his last workaround. I didn’t bother with it but then, I didn’t listen to him on the twits or Fakebook, either.
Don’t worry, there’s nothing in the Constitution about negating elections after the fact. Biden is the President.
I wonder who will be Speaker of the House in 2023?

Punch, I realize that as the progressive version of “Todd” you’re wrestling with some thorny “issues” concerning the former chief executive but have you stopped to consider that you are the one that brings up Trump most often?
I realize that you miss him, that your life really “had meaning” when he was president, pussy hats, the “Resistance”….purpose in your daily existence! But he’s gone and you need to let him go…..for your emotional well being!

Don’t know for sure yet. Could be China and it could be from animal sources or something else. Biden has a group looking into it which should have some insight.

Sure they do @523 creepy grampa joe shut down the pentagon investigation and has the state dept doing it now but here is the rub ya po’ ol’ koolaide guzzler-
State Department leaders were warned not to pursue an investigation into the origins of COVID-19, former department officials confirmed to Fox News on Thursday, amid fears that it would bring attention to U.S. funding of research at the Wuhan Institute where the virus may have escaped.
Vanity Fair reported that officials calling for transparency from the Chinese government were told not to explore the Wuhan Institute of Virology’s “gain of function” research, because it would bring what the outlet described as “unwelcome” attention of U.S. government funding into that research.
The outlet reported that Thomas DiNanno, a former acting assistant secretary of the State Department’s Bureau of Arms Control, Verification, and Compliance, wrote in a January memo that staff from two bureaus “warned” leaders within his office not to probe the origins of the virus because it risked opening “a can of worms.”
Multiple former State Department officials told Fox News that the reported memo accurately describes what was happening at State at the time and that there was an effort among some officials at the department to oppose an extensive investigation into a possible lab leak.

Here’s some more depth into that question. From the LA Times:
“In a May 14 letter in the magazine Science, 18 eminent experts urged that “a transparent, objective, data-driven” investigation be undertaken of both theories to achieve “greater clarity about the origins of this pandemic.” Their letter was directed to the World Health Organization, which in April labeled the laboratory origin of COVID-19 “extremely unlikely.”
Further, President Biden on May 26 gave federal intelligence agencies 90 days to provide him “the most up-to-date analysis of the origins of COVID-19, including whether it emerged from human contact with an infected animal or from a laboratory accident.”

Talk about creepy grampa joe cuddling @ 528 Here is your bromance in reality –
“You know, the decision was really arbitrary,” she said. “That’s why we’ll be appealing this decision, and the fight isn’t over. There wasn’t specific reasons that had credibility, and we call this an unlawful act to not make sure that we can conduct our celebration on July 3 at Mount Rushmore like we did last year.
“This is part of the radical left’s agenda,” Noem continued. “They don’t want to celebrate America or freedoms. They’re pushing critical race theory. They’re pushing the 1619 Project. And this is just another one of those battles to erase our trust, honest, and patriotic history in this country.”

So, Punchy… you won’t even pin the tail on the world map and give a name to where it first erupted into human populations…. was it… China?
If China, was it in or near … Wuhan?
If it was Wuhan, is it plausible in Paul-space that a random transmission from bat to human would take place 1000 miles from the nearest candidate bat population, in an area that just happens to have a virology lab that can support level 4 containment research (but did much of its work at level 2, about like a dentist’s orifice). Hmmmm?
Oh… and that Wuhan Institute of Virology was doing research on bat coronaviruses?

Yes I agree with you It’s all possible Gregory. However where is the proof and how do we determine that?

Wonder what’s changed?
