That guidance, issued in February, narrows enforcement priorities to recent border crossers, national security threats and “aggravated felons.” While those outside of those categories are not ruled out from arrest or deportation, agents need pre-approval from superiors to arrest them.
That guidance for ICE was issued after Texas had sued the Biden administration over an initial plan to impose a 100-day moratorium on deportations. Texas won the lawsuit, and earlier this month the Biden administration announced it had abandoned the policy after the 100 day period had passed – marking the first legal victory for the GOP states.
“This is a big win for Texas and the nation. It sends a clear message to the Biden administration that they will not be able to violate federal immigration law and endanger the lives of Texans,” Texas AG Ken Paxton said in a statement last week. “This Administration’s failed policies have only exacerbated the crisis at our southern border, and further exhausted the regular duties of our law enforcement officers.”
Having shot down the deportation moratorium, the states are now hoping to shut down other parts of the Biden immigration agenda – including the ICE rules they say amounts to the same policy as the deportation moratorium. The new ICE guidance has coincided with a dramatic decrease of arrests and deportations and the discovery process triggered by the lawsuit led to the release of an email that showed that ICE officials predicted such a drop in arrests would occur.
As part of that, the states have also been able to begin deposing officials, the first depositions of which were released this month — including an ICE official saying that the reason for the narrowing of enforcement was not due to limited resources, as the administration had claimed.

For my two cents I really would like to have any liberal reader defend CNN, MSNBC, or any of the other lamestream outlets as being reliable news sources. Every night Tucker presents a list of questions on national and world events that any self-respecting journalist would ask, and no one working for the lamestream makes a peep while the continue spouting the lies of the Democrat Party line.

George 8:58 – I’m reading ‘Breaking The News’ by A. Marlow. A lot in the book has already been covered but much is new to me. As he points out – CNN, MSDNC, NYTs etal no longer have any interest in trying to cover or investigate anything that might reflect badly on the left in general and the Dems in particular. Their ‘self respect’ comes from aiding the side of good and helping to defeat those who they see as the enemy. It goes beyond a lack of curiosity and plainly extends into flat out spreading lies.

Scott’s 1026pm does provide an explanation that completely explains away the function of the lamestream and its reporting practice, including its calls to shut down opposing voices. Today the lamestream fills all the functions of a partisan propaganda organ. You can’t counter that with a similar description of outlets like FN which regularly take/took Republicans and Trump to task. We are in a precipitous descent.

If the virus did jump from bats to humans, the bats in question live 1,000 miles away and not in Wuhan province or the wet market…..as well as no outbreaks of SARS 2 in Wuhan or the other regions leading up to the outbreak in Dec, 2019. One who think that if the virus jumped from bats to humans, there would have been months (or years) of infected cases leading up to the sudden epidemic. One would also think that a secondary host of SARS-2 from bats to humans would have been found by now, but none has been discovered. So, out of the blue with no explanation or cases trickling in prior, SARS 2 jumped one day from bats directly to humans.
Wuhan labs research of the virus on mice injected with human cells (humanized mice) works for me.

I have commended Fox News for their sometimes graphic critique of Trump especially his charactor and delusional reality. It was the News part of Fox that did that not the Hannity-Carlson drone’s in evening part of fox. I have several times applauded on your blog the news reporting of Chris Wallace and the departed Shepard Smith for example which resulted in the usual eruption of personal attacks from the COJ’s that infest your blog.
Show me ONE time Hannity or Carlson have drilled Trump during their many interviews rather than catering to the pre determined script that he presents.

Just like the economy that Obama inherited from Bush which is referred to a the Great Recession compared to the economy that Clinton left Bush. Bush inherited a good solid economy from Clinton so good in fact that he issued tax refunds because income was greater than expenses when he came into office.
