[Did everyone see yet another shot in the shorts for what was known as American culture?  To propagandize the administration’s C19 response and highlight Trump’s alleged failure, the Bidens and Harrises observed what can only be described as a kabuki ‘moment of silence’ for the C19 500K death-count.  Now what could possibly be confusing about conducting a moment of silence?  All you have to do is STFU and look somber for a bit.  But not in Bumblebrain’s brave new America; there stood the two first couples (with Dr Jill still talking or giving directions to Joe) in front of the WH’s twin staircases festooned with 500 garishly-lit candles, while an off-camera band played an unusually loud and raucous rendition of Amazing Grace – moment of silence??!  Whatever norms we previously observed, henceforth these are to be eliminated wherever they are encountered.  gjr]

George 7:53 – “…the Left makes their next attempt at taking our guns.”
There are those on the left that want the govt to seize privately owned fire arms, but the Dems in office have made it clear what they really want is to bleed money from the owners of fire arms. Lots of money. I doubt any of it will pass muster with SCOTUS but it sure sells fire arms like nothing else.
The latest from Xho Bai Den is making all the buyers of “untraceable” 80% lowers to pass background checks. But if they are truly “untraceable”…

    Tru dat! –
The WEF, which the primary body pushing Klaus Schwab’s idea of a so-called ‘Great Reset’ of the global economic order, was widely ridiculed for the post, including by former Brexit Party MEP turned political commentator Martin Daubney, who was among the first to flag the video before it was taken down. Daubney later reposted the video, further exposing the WEF to criticism.
Speaking to Breitbart London, Mr Daubney said: “I’m glad they tweeted this — because it has exposed them for the out of touch crackpots that they are. The WEF sees humanity as a blight, something to be controlled and imprisoned, in order to meet arbitrary climate change targets.
“There’s just one problem, the public won’t play along with their Great Reset nonsense. All of the things the WEF want to stop: work, travel, capitalism, are the things the vast majority of humanity lives for. The WEF have exposed themselves as ridiculously out of touch with the everyday man and woman. Sheltered in their ivory towers, they treat the rest of us with absolute seething contempt.”

    https://redstate.com/bonchie/2021/02/27/joe-biden-speaks-in-houston-what-follows-should-make-you-question-everything-n334243
“After waiting nearly two weeks to respond, he finally left the bunker and headed down to Texas to do a photo-op in the wake of a massive winter storm. A normal president would have been there meeting with FEMA officials and surveying damage a week prior, but we obviously don’t have a normal president.
Therefore, instead of getting a public address when it mattered, we get this far too late performance that should leave you questioning everything.
If you watch the clip, he flubs Shelia Jackson Lee’s name, calling her “Shirley” after stumbling around. He then starts tripping all over himself to list the rest of the names his handlers have given him. Eventually, he devolves into asking “what am I doing here” because this is all totally normal or something.
To be clear, what is in that clip is not a stutter. A stutter does not make you say the wrong word nor does it cause you to be unable to read a list a names. It doesn’t even stop you from speaking in a manner that is otherwise understandable. What a stutter does is exactly what the word purports. It causes a stopping on and repetition of certain sounds. You never hear that effect from Biden because his issue is not a stutter, no matter how much the media try to gaslight the public into believing it is. This is a man whose mental capacity appears to be rapidly declining before our eyes. You can watch videos of Biden from just five years ago and he’s a totally different person.”

“Golden Trump statue at CPAC was made in Mexico — and is for sale. From Politico :
“Tommy Zegan spent over six months crafting the 200-pound fiberglass statue with the help of three men in Rosarito. He transported it to Tampa, Fla., where it was painted in chrome, then hauled it from there to CPAC in a U-Haul, where he managed to cart it through the conference in just a black-and-white Hawaiian shirt and no CPAC credential, Zegan crafted an even higher-end, stainless steel version that cost his ‘life savings,’ or $50,000. He said he’s aiming to sell that one for over $1 million. But if not, he hopes to see it in a future Trump Presidential Library.”

    SPEAKING OF HATE SPEECH
“As in a Stalinist purge, Amazon has silently “disappeared” Ryan Anderson’s book When Harry Became Sally. Amazon tacitly alleges that it acted under revised guidelines prohibiting the sale of “content that we determine is hate speech … or other material we deem inappropriate or offensive,” including content that “promotes the abuse or sexual exploitation of children, contains pornography, glorifies rape or pedophilia, [or] advocates terrorism.” Beyond citing the policy, Amazon has declined to justify its treatment of Anderson’s book.
The suppression of Anderson’s book cannot reasonably be justified under Amazon’s policy. Not even close. What we have here is the enforcement of a party line — forgive me for repeating myself — as in a Stalinist purge.
As I noted here yesterday, Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf remains for sale by Amazon. Likewise Quotations From Chairman Mao (a/k/a “the Little Red Book”). And you may want to walk around Amazon’s Che Guevara Store as well.
Now the Free Beacon’s Andrew Stiles identifies a few other items that have escaped the net of Amazon’s revised policy. The list he has compiled reflects a spirit of mockery. Teddy Kennedy’s True Compass is an example.
Stiles’s mockery is one approach to keeping the Amazon story alive. We need it and more.
A few of the items Stiles identifies fall into the category of “get ’em while you can” — the Bible, the Constitution, and Huckleberry Finn, for example. Examples could be multiplied endlessly. Think, for example, of Aristotle’s Ethics, with its analysis of slavery. It’s enough to make you think that perhaps this whole “hate speech” thing could get out of hand, or that this is precisely the point.”

Well, if Reagan with dementia can deliver a powerful stirring speech at the end of his Presidency, why can’t Joey Fingers of the Biden Crime Syndicate (who his supporters claim he does not have dementia) give a real speech early on in his presidency? Sloe Joe went back home to Delaware for the weekend. Hopes he gets some much needed nice peaceful naps. Do not disturb.

Today’s theme is shaping up to be called ‘meaningless”. Or emptiness. “Vanity, vanity, all things are vanity”, which correctly translated means “Emptiness, emptiness, all things are emptiness.” Same ancient word for ‘void’. Politics has intruded greatly into spheres in which it does not belong; at home, at work, at play, in sports, and in entertainment, in the sewing circle. Even shopping at the market. Leaves one empty.
Interesting perspective. Haven’t read Frankl’s ‘Man’s Search for Meaning’ since ‘72 or ‘73, but it always struck with me.
    ‘My Generation Isn’t Suffering Enough’
“But, I suspect the problem is more nuanced than this. I don’t doubt that Gen Z is under a lot of strain, but I also think our plight is unique. For the first time in history, much of our misery stems not from too much suffering, but from not suffering enough. Gen Z does face real problems. I have certainly felt beleaguered by the pressures of social media, an oversaturated job market and the impact of coronavirus restrictions on my education. On top of that, there’s the difficulty of simply trying to exist as a fallible human in a political climate which demands infallibility, where nothing feels light-hearted anymore, and everything we say or do in our youth is stained onto the Internet for all time.
So, pressure is no doubt part of it. But previous generations faced egregiously difficult times: world wars, pandemics, economic crises, political rebellions, totalitarian regimes, and conditions of extreme poverty. Not only that, but today there are a wider range of mental health services available than ever before, and Gen Z are more likely than any other generation to seek treatment. So, for our rates of mental illness and suicide to be so high in a time of relative peace, there must exist a more convincing explanation than simply the asperities of life.
What lurks over my generation is not just a sense of misery, but meaninglessness. We exist in a state of lethargy and unfulfillment, tormented not by the tragedy of it all, but the futility. This is a point most articles and public figures today are less willing to discuss. But, to examine this possibility isn’t to say that Gen Z never struggle—but to suggest that at least some of us are caught in a rut of boredom, not burnout.“
    https://quillette.com/2021/02/28/my-generation-isnt-suffering-enough/
    —————————
Counter argument to above: Blame the Boomers, I do. Well, blame the Utopia Marxist peddlers. At least the writer’s opinion has merit.
‘How Baby Boomers Ushered In Our Narcissistic Age’
Helen Andrews’ book, ‘Boomers: The Men and Women Who Promised Freedom and Delivered Disaster,’ offers a penetrating and damning look at a generation that put America on a path to ruin
“Just short of the season of Festivus, he conflated the memes with hate speech: “Boomer’ is the n-word of ageism. Being hip and flip does not make bigotry ok, nor is a derisive epithet acceptable because it is new.” Lonsberry was done listening to the internet-fueled ageism on steroids. After years of cultivating “snowflake” and “Peter Pan” as practical analogs of the word “millennial,” the baby boomers were not about to lay down and take it in return.
Then again, anyone who has survived the COVID-19 apocalypse thus far should only be surprised at the vainglory. Only a generation who has been dictating the past 50 years of cultural trends could happily raise children and grandchildren who demanded worldwide lockdowns and wave it off as the price of living in society. The Baby Boomers ushered in this narcissistic age, and the millennials will have to wrest it from their cold, dead hands.“

We are way past that now –
Young authors may be self-censoring because they worry they will be “trolled” or “cancelled”, according to celebrated writer Sir Kazuo Ishiguro.
Sir Kazuo, who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2017, warned that a “climate of fear” was preventing some people from writing what they want.
He said they may be concerned that an “anonymous lynch mob will turn up online and make their lives a misery”.
He told the BBC: “I very much fear for the younger generation of writers.”
The 66-year-old said he was worried that less established authors were self-censoring by avoiding writing from certain viewpoints or including characters outside their immediate experiences.
“I think that is a dangerous state of affairs,”
He said he was particularly troubled about young writers “who rightly perhaps feel that their careers are more fragile, their reputations are more fragile and they don’t want to take risks”.
His comments come after a number of freedom of speech disputes, with writers being “cancelled” or facing threats to boycott their work. High-profile targets have included JK Rowling, Julie Burchill and Jeanine Cummins.
