[So now the C19 vaccines are arriving in backwoods counties like ours. Does anyone know of a list or policy that prioritizes who should get the vaccine and when (and where)? The news about its distribution stops with vague references to healthcare workers and old folks in care facilities being somewhere near the top of the list. gjr]

As I’ve pointed out before, the Danes have an extremely high rate of emigration of people who create wealth and jobs. What keeps Danes satisfied is that they are the largest oil producer in the EU and don’t have to spend money to defend themselves. And their healthcare costs are rising faster than their GDP. BTW, the Danes will stop all further oil development in 2030, which event will have an interesting impact on their economy. And check this out –

Oh my.
Our local News Redirection must have been asleep at the wheel for the past 4 years.
Punchy says.
“Left the Dems with a shattered economy and infrastructure and weakened national defense“
Weaken national defense?? Trump inherited a weaken national defense. Remember Obama firing 100 generals (just like Stalin and Hiller), our Navy’s number of battle vessels sorely under what is needed for defense and hot spots breaking out across the globe, the Army in desperately in need of upgrading, the Air Force laying off pilots for lack of funding, aircraft, and downsizing, plus a wide open border to let terrorists come waltzing across on foot, along with some child predators, cartel members, and other real bad hombres.
Our national defense was decimated by the previous administration. And now member states of NATO have agreed to put money they pledged to as a condition of joining NATO…into their own self defense.
Even Japan hopped on board to pay for their own (upgraded) Defense. When asked why Japan never paid a dime before, the Japanese Premier said, “Because nobody ever asked us to.”
Our Allies are no longer counting of the US to pay for their own security so they can play with socialism, SJW style. A better defended NATO by member nations makes us all safer, with the exception of Turkey, I suppose.
Opps. Turkey has a huge army. Ok, with the exception of Germany. Germany, the largest economic powerhouse and de facto head of the EU, was told to pay 1.4% of their GDP to NATO, which they agreed to be 2% when they joined NATO way back when. The Krauts told Trump to fuck off and die, not only will they refuse to keep paying 1.4%, they will pay 1% next year. Go pound sand, Trump.
After Angie signed a natural gas agreement with Putin that Germany would buy much needed gas from Russia (Germany’s wind and solar program is a bust), she wants Putin to have his hand on the shut off valve if Putin ever decides to turn off the heat during a bitter Germany winter, lol. To make matters worse, a NATO report revealed that Germany’s Army has only 7% of its forces equipped and ready (clothes and winter gear) for a winter battle for 7 days. Only a handful out of the entire German military are equipped for a 30 day winter battle. All their big transport planes were grounded due to lack of parts, needed repairs and just worthless as teets on an old hippy chick with unbraided armpit hair. Worthless as a weirdo with a man bun.
As I write this, Russian forces are gathering on the Eastern Front of Germany and Europe. Good thing our military has been rebuilt under Trump, bad thing that Germany is making us less safe. They liked Obama much better.

I could be mistaken, but didn’t I post a link about a year ago that showed Denmark’s health care system worked so well that 50% of those who went to the hospital and WERE admitted for surgeries and other ER stuff chose……drumroll please….chose to pay for a private hospital instead of a hospital part of the national health care system…which is free. Yes, I believe that link was from the Danish government stats.
The Danes know something Punchy and Steve don’t know, I reckon. You get what you pay for. 🙂

PaulE 919pm – For you “nothing has changed” because you haven’t been paying attention to world news and the RR commentaries that have reported on the changing landscape of nationalized healthcare across the world – the lamestream does a terrible thing to healthy minds.
And there is no requirement for ANYTHING to already exist that has the desiderata of what one is trying to achieve – all new developments, inventions, revolutions, … have been dreamt of, pondered, and launched without the need for precedence (as was America). My life has been blessed with the ability and opportunity to walk where none have yet trod. Your usual logic remains fallible.

So George you agree that this has never been tried before so there’s no way to evaluate it’s effectiveness in providing reasonable health care for the general population. It’s just an idea without any verifiable substance of real life examples to support it. In he meantime Trump failed to produce a healthcare plan despite endless promises that he would have it in “two weeks”. That’s typical from our soon to be homeless Liar in Chief.

Paul, the elderly, like you, get medicare, parts A&B. The poor folks get free medicaid. Anyone/everyone else who wants The Affordable Care Act can sign up with Covered California (here). Its a lefty version of Medicaid Fot All. There are even plans to choose from to fit one’s budget. Pre-existing conditions covered as well, law of the land. And the best thing about Obamacare is it won’t cost the Treasury one thin dime and the average family of four will save $1,500/year.
I just don’t see the need for more government run health insurance. Anybody can sign up for Covered Califofnia–especially the poor, unhealthy, sick, infirmed, the weak, and most importantly, the uninsured. Like, what is the hoopala about?
Paul, everyone of the people you care about–be it the homeless at HH, a friend, a relative, a friend of a friend, a starving artist…all of them probably get free medical for being poor and down on their luck. At least the transitional and permanent homeless/addicts do. And the pony-tailed guitarist playing on the sidewk in front of his open instrument case with a couple bucks and a few quarters tossed in to prime the donation pump.
I assume most of your friends are eligible for free medical with $1.30 RX scripts, a bargin at 60x the price. Whine, whine, whine.
Or…or…or is this decade old recycled debate because its Open Enrollment Time and you are too cheap to kick down for Parts D thru G? D with G ain’t bad. Pay the premium (reasonable) up front for the year and don’t lose obe hour’s sleep over it. Harmony.

2021 Global Economic Outlook: The Next Phase of the V
Morgan Stanley projects strong global GDP growth of 6.4% for 2021—led first by emerging markets, followed by reopening economies in the U.S. and Europe—in a macro outlook that diverges from the consensus.
“In their 2021 outlook, the economics team at Morgan Stanley Research says the V-shaped that the team forecast in their 2020 midyear outlook is now entering a new self-sustaining phase and is on track to deliver 6.4% GDP growth in the coming year.”
https://www.morganstanley.com/ideas/global-economic-outlook-2021?
If true, Joe Biden is the luckiest man alive. Oh, D will go ape shit with glee. Republicans drove the economy into the ditch again. Trump should have used the bully pulpit to make everyone wear a mask, constitutional or not. But noooo. So the Dems governors had to shut down the economy again and really drive the stake through small businesses’ hearts ( the little guy)….and it’s all Trump’s fault because he was photographed not wearing a masks and he is responsible for what Gavin and Fredo’s brother does.
Vaccine and a risky taking resilient economy coming Biden’s way. The Great White Father in Washington has arrived.

One case involved a suspect charged with a double murder, including that of L.A. Sherrif’s Deputy Gilbert Solano.

“California Gov. Gavin Newsom said Monday that he would likely extend his state’s stay-at-home order.
“Based upon all the data,” Newsom, a Democrat, said at a news conference. “It’s very likely that we’re going to extend the stay at home order.” ”
Funny,, the Thanksgiving doom and gloom prediction was an epic BS!

Paul @ 1:25- Sounds like we have a bet but won’t know the outcome until the bill for 2021 comes in. Briefly, the bet is that the nat’l debt will increase more between 20 Jan 2021 and 20 Jan 2022 than it did between 20 Jan 2017 and 20 Jan 20 with the year in between not in consideration. You already know my name, L is an abbreviation and my e-mail will remain private. George knows where I am and how to contact me.
This should get you rooting for a pair of Republican Senate victories in Georgia, much as I hate to give you a handicap.
