[So here’s the drill about the riots.  According to the Big Liberal Lie Factory, up until last week there were no riots, only peaceful protests for social justice – ask anybody in the Dem leadership including Bumblebrain.  This week this position became ludicrous even for the country’s liberal contingent.  So a massive pivot was necessary and pulled off on the Sunday lamestream talk shows.  This week the riots are suddenly real, and have been so for some months, all caused by President Trump inciting white nationalists to violence from the White House.  Now that’s a more palatable version of reality for all the land's leftists.  gjr]

    I’m sure that while you were raising your children there was a time or two that you “agreed” with them just to “make the noise stop” if only for a brief time. You never had any intention of actually following through with letting them eat an entire bag of marshmallows for dinner or going trout fishing with a handgun.

    How can you justify worrying 100% (let’s say 99%) about what Trump says rather than what he does. I would suggest either (a)arguing against Trump actions and/or (b)actually arguing in favor of anything at all.

    Now, as an aside, it’s worth considering whether the American GIs who died in WWI were fighting for any kind of useful cause. Besides the difficulty in determining how the US actually benefits, there’s always the contrafactual of a negotiated peace resulting in the non-existence of one Mr. Hitler and WWI 2.0
    Is a soldier who dies in a useless war a sucker? That’s way too harsh. A hero? Unlucky? I don’t really know.
    Playing world hegemon is an expensive business in life and lucre. Was the Spanish-American war a righteous one? WWI? Nicaragua? Invasion of Russia? Indochina or Korea? Gulf War I or II?
    Mr Emery’s favorite answer, YES OR NO?, isn’t much use here, but the answer isn’t always obvious. It’s always a matter of degree and context.
    The crazy thing of course is that the US Left wants to put the War Party back in power, but I always felt that most Liberal’s love of peace was a pretty shallow thing.

    I really believe that the problem of dealing with elderly liberals, like we seem to have a few of ’round these parts, is that they are fighting the political wars from decades ago. They honestly have no clue about the philosophies that are going through the pipeline and the dangers they represent.

    I’d be interested in hearing Mr. Emery’s case against Trump if one is a single issue voter.
    That issue is a street war by AntifaBLM vs. civilization and an internal struggle in the establishments (corporations, press, schools,gubmint) between Critical Race Theory (and it’s variations) vs. tradition.
    Everything else is on the table. Health care. The role of the military. Public funding of schools. Abortion. All of it is trivial.

    Well scenes Trump is a true nut case and I don’t trust him with the security of our country especially after it’s been revealed what he thinks about our people in uniform. The economy is a mess and he keeps floating bad information about the virus and his leadership has been a total failure so I say don’t hire him for another 4 years.
    Biden will not necessarily be great and he’s not my first choice, but the consequences are dire and unknown if Trump stays in office. I don’t subscribe to the ol’time Red Scare (so 1950’s) the RR’s are infatuated with so that’s not an issue with me. Climate change is real and we need to leave the planet in good working order for future generations.

    Friday’s Rasmussen Reports approval rating for Trump was 52%. At the same time, 48 percent disapprove. Strong feelings for the president are equal on both sides– 42 percent strongly approve of the president’s job and 42 percent strongly disapprove.
    The last time Trump hit 52 percent approval was late February, weeks before coronavirus lockdowns kicked in.
    The highest approval rating Trump has had was in late September 2019, at 53 percent, according to Rasmussen. The highest former President Barack Obama had was 52 percent, in late January 2011.
    In past reelections, both Obama and President George W. Bush had a 51 percent approval on the day they won.

    BTW, anybody notice that one day out of blue and for no particular reason, the news suddenly stopped dead in tracks gabbing and quacking about the caravans approaching from south of the border. Like, poof. Vanished.
    Wonder if Trump had anything to do with that or the empowerment. zones going on to help distressed businesses with special government loans and programs. Mostly helping black businesses and neighborhoods. Showing results. Did you hear about that? I did not think so.
    Controlled immigration helps the black community the most. So does empowerment zones to start/get some economic activity and jobs happening. Worth a shot. Comes with mentors from the private sector which was easy to get them on board.
    The ones hurt the most by defunding or reducing LE’s present in crime ridden areas are the good poor black folks.
    Recent poll said 80% of the American people support the police. It also said 80% of the blacks also support the police.
    Like Scenes last night and Scott O tonight, I, too, ponder if the Dems have early considered the consequences of hitching their wagon to the extreme leftist agenda. The Blame America (Y-T America) First crowd. Have they thought it through? Really thought it out? What is the vision of life after socialized medicine and solar panels? Life after everything is nullified? What’s that like?
    I cut them some slack because I know TDS is their burden to carry because hate blinds a man and contempt prior to investigation keeps a man in everlasting ignorance. As for their puppet master leaders, well those folks are evil and go evil intentionally.
