CLUELESS JOE BIDEN: WRONG ON THE CORONAVIRUS, AS USUAL
“said that as vice president, Biden presided, along with President Obama, over the depletion of the national strategic stockpile of the PPE equipment that health professionals require in an epidemic. The Obama-Biden administration did not replenish it. Thus, the equipment that was needed most by health care professionals was no longer available when the virus hit the U.S.
Finally, Rove said that in a televised interview with Joy Reid two weeks ago, Biden listed six elements of his plan to deal with the pandemic. According to Rove, all six elements of his plan are things Trump has already done.
UPDATE: Here are Rove’s specifics regarding how Trump has already done the things Biden says need to be done in response to the pandemic.“

Soon it may be Shoeless Joe as well as Clueless Joe. Saw an interesting poll (2 polls now actually) asking folks whom they think will be the Democrat Party nominee in November. I found it rather astonishing…er…strike that……rather non-astonishing nor unsurprising for those outside the bubble that a polling company would be hired to even ask such a question about any major party nominee in normal times. That has to be a rare jewel in the polling business. The desert blossom among the bush rats.
Who do you think will be the Democrat Party Nominee come November?

Self explanatory. You are speaking for Scott. Are you his agent and did he give you permission to speak for him?
I realize that you’ve lost a step or two mentally (probably why you are so enamored of Grandpa Badfinger as a candidate). But my making the observation that Scott has more productive uses for his time than listening to a senile democrat grifter blather on about whatever he was blathering on about in no way means that I’m speaking for him.
Maybe it’s time to seriously consider assisted living Punch?

Fox News had the top five most-watched cable news programs during the first quarter of 2020.
With the coronavirus pandemic increasingly taking up much of the media’s focus, prime-time hosts Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson had the top two shows, averaging more than 4 million viewers a night, according to Nielsen Media Research.
The Five, which starts at 5 p.m. ET; Laura Ingraham’s evening program, which airs at 10 p.m.; and news anchor Bret Baier’s program, which airs at 6 p.m., rounded out the top five. Each program averaged more than 3 million viewers. These five shows also finished in the top five of the key 25-54 age demographic, which helps determine ad rates.
MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, who in recent quarters competed for the top-rated show against Hannity and Carlson, slipped out of the top five to sixth place. Her show also dropped an additional spot in the 25-54 age demographic, behind Fox News’s The Story with Martha MacCallum, which airs at 7 p.m. ET. Maddow averaged an audience of 3 million people per day. Her viewership has rebounded somewhat, despite the drop in the rankings, as the numbers have also risen for Hannity and Carlson.

“The Fox TV broadcast of Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace delivered 1.46 million Total Viewers and 389,000 A25-54 viewers. The cable replays combined for 3.345 million Total Viewers and 586,000 A25-54 viewers. Combined with the first-run broadcast, that’s roughly 4.8 million Total Viewers and 975,000 A25-54 viewers tuning in to FNS on Aug. 9.”
#1 Sunday show, Meet the Depressed with Chuck Toddster:”The first-run broadcast of MTP on Aug. 9 averaged 3.20 million Total Viewers. That figure is +17% (+456,000) more than ABC’s This Week, but only +1% (+23,000) more than CBS’ Face the Nation.”
So, MTP shows once on Sunday getting 3.2 million viewers, while FNS is shown several times and gets 4.8 million, in 4th place but with the most viewers by far. Make sense?

“He had a balancing act here tonight,” Rove said of Biden. “He was trying to balance two different things. One was … portraying himself as a unifier who would bring the country together. He did so very effectively and if I were a Republican strategist in the Trump campaign, I’d be worried about how long and how effectively he carries that theme forward, because that’s the thing that will keep the swing voters in his camp, if they are in his camp, or bring them to him.”

Yeah Paul – It turns out ‘I’m afraid’ to waste my time watching any canned political speech. Including Trump, Biden – anyone.
They’re all just a bunch of actors on the stage reading lines with the occasional phoney-baloney emotional sob stories.
I’m far more interested in actual policy and the record of the pol.
And Biden stinks. His record is clear. He’s a political hack who’ll do whatever his handlers tell him. He and Obama had 8 years to ‘fix’ all the things he now claims he’ll fix. Except he doesn’t seem to offer any specifics beyond a bunch of tired, useless, left-wing talking points.
The only person I see that’s scared is Hidin’ Biden. He can’t/won’t do an interview with someone like Tucker Carlson. Trump sat with an adversarial interviewer and answered the questions. When Biden is willing to answer something beyond puff-balls – I’ll watch.

……and there it is……desperation.
Even if it turned out that Biden was still what he was 20 years ago do you think that for a single second it would change any minds here?
From what I hear Biden had a decent speech and managed not to shit himself on stage while delivering it…and you could positively hear the collective sigh of relief (from the left) across the land. They will spend the next 6 weeks arguing the “Joe is fine” no need for a debate…”You all saw him, no backsies”! They’re desperate to keep him in a controlled environment where he won’t decide to ad lib and tell America that “you ain’t black”, grope a small child while a camera is running, or publicly cut another back room deal for Hunter with the PRC.
It’s all good Punch……!

Paul… if Trump wins a’gin, will you accept the will of the people of these United States, this time?

It was in much better shape until the Chinese Flu clobbered the world’s economy. Although we’re doing better than most of the rest of the world, we need to get our free-market capitalistic system cranking again. Biden is promising a top-down govt controlled system that has already proven itself to be a failure.
And of course – the left-wing violence aided and abbeted by the Dems in power in some large cities. They are willing to let their cities be destroyed in order to try to get rid of Trump. Then they’ll want fed money to re-build.
Biden refuses to address, let alone denounce this violence. There is little Trump can do as the violence is usually in jurisdictions outside of fed control.
And there is the continuing ruination of our so-called ‘higher education’ into a left-wing morass of dim-witted thugs bullying and harassing and driving out the better people of these once fine world-class institutions. This started long before Trump and there is nothing he can do about it, save the bully-pulpit.
Trump has greatly improved our courts with his picks for judges. Once the left has come back into power in the court system our Republic will collapse into some sort of autocratic socialistic ruin.
So – basically I would say our country is in much better shape with Trump right now certainly than it would have been if Clinton had won.
That’s for sure.

George Rebane: “PaulE, do make all this crap up out of whole cloth about what everyone here does and thinks?”
It doesn’t take much. Paul just pounds out the same couple of messages over and over and watches the 20 or so responses. It’s classic troll behavior each with a tiny endorphin rush.
I was thinking about the excellent article Greg posted up from Quillette about modern Marxism and wanted to suggest an alternate tack (not a full replacement). It makes sense in viewing the modern Left in a Marxist framework and certainly there is occasional overt use of that philosophy but it seems to me that this is about power.
In short, a lot of what you are seeing is simply an attempt to tear down existing systems and then to acquire a place of prominence in the new ones. Any underlying structural theories will be malleable to suit the situation but the important thing is ownership of resources.
The classic Communist takeover always had that flavor but our current situation seems to be more oriented that way.

scenes 754am – A main tenet of Rebane Doctrine has always been that leftwing (modern) liberalism is the gateway ideology to full-blown Marxism, and to the extent that it dominates any jurisdiction’s political base (e.g. California), it puts that jurisdiction on the slippery slope through socialism to communism. The cynical part of this slide is that it will be funded by other jurisdictions (states, fed) during its progress toward single-party dominance – this is Lenin’s ‘selling us the rope’ paradigm. I think Hazony does a great job connecting the key elements of Marxist political corruption.

Republicans are dumping Trump in droves. Here’s today’s example:
“A Statement by Former Republican National Security Officials
We are former national security officials who served during the administrations of Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, and/or Donald Trump, or as Republican Members of Congress. We are profoundly concerned about the course of our nation under the leadership of Donald Trump. Through his actions and his rhetoric, Trump has demonstrated that he lacks the character and competence to lead this nation and has engaged in corrupt behavior that renders him unfit to serve as President.
For the following reasons, we have concluded that Donald Trump has failed our country and that Vice President Joe Biden should be elected the next President of the United States.
To that end, we are firmly convinced that it is in the best interest of our nation that Vice President Joe Biden be elected as the next President of the United States, and we will vote for him.
