   The Michael Flynn prosecution is over, assuming no en banc review of the panel’s decision putting an end to it. However, we can expect plenty of moaning from Democrats and their media allies, as well, I assume, as congressional hearings….
   “Stone was sentenced by a liberal Democrat judge to 40 months in prison. But House Dems wanted a much longer sentence, and are crying foul because they didn’t it.
   As I write this, Aaron Zelinsky, one of Stone’s prosecutors, is telling the House Judiciary Committee that the Department of Justice exerted significant pressure on the line prosecutors to reduce their recommended sentence for Stone. Zelinsky has said:
   “What I heard – repeatedly – was that Roger Stone was being treated differently from any other defendant because of his relationship to the President. I was told that the Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, Timothy Shea, was receiving heavy pressure from the highest levels of the Department of Justice to cut Stone a break, and that the U.S. Attorney’s sentencing instructions to us were based on political considerations.”
   As Bill points out, it’s pretty clear from this statement that Zelinsky lacks first hand knowledge of what was going on. And, indeed, the Justice Department has confirmed his lack of knowledge. Its spokesperson issued this statement:…..”

   Law and order are still strong sentiments among actual voters especially in swing congressional districts –
   The survey revealed a generic Republican candidate holds a one-point advantage over a generic Democrat candidate amongst swing voters in battleground districts.
   The poll said Republicans’ strongest issue, the economy, is voters’ top concern. Twenty-three percent of voters say the economy and creating more jobs are the most important issues for Congress, compared to 20 percent that they would like to focus on corruption, and ten percent said tackling the coronavirus pandemic.
   Eleven percent said health care is the most important issue for Congress.
   Fifty-percent of swing voters also approve of President Donald Trump’s handling of the economy, compared to 42 percent who disapprove. The NRCC memo emphasized they have not seen a decrease in swing voters’ approval of Trump’s handling of the economy.
   Battleground districts swing voters are far less likely to vote for Democrats after hearing about the Democrats’ radical proposals, the NRCC wrote.
   Swing voters largely disapprove of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) phase four coronavirus bill, the HEROES Act, which reportedly contains a provision that would allow for the release of prisoners, such as murders and rapists.

    ‘Parler’. Yeah, I’d heard of that one already. It’s a nice idea, a Twitter alternative that doesn’t boot people off for the most minor of infractions of Blue Mob orthodoxy.
    Looking back, it never occurred to me that communications near-monopolies would be politically weaponized to the extent they have. It was a move well-played. Bravo.

    ..simply shows the normal incompetence of bureaucracy, although perhaps perfect tracking of citizens shouldn’t be a primary purpose of government. Remind me again of how accurate mail-in voting is going to be.
