Sandbox – 4jun20

[Apologies for letting the 2jun20 Sandbox get out of hand with all of its misplaced comments that I should have deleted as they appeared.  Here I’m talking about the pandemic and George Floyd response comments that had homes under my other topical commentaries.  I’ll try to do a much better job in this sandbox to delete all misplaced comments immediately before they become lengthy discussion threads.  And thanks for your support.  gjr]

    I’m thinking we should demand that the NC city council kneel at their next meeting, right out there in front of God and everybody, to show how so sorry they are.
    This should be followed by a (minimum) five minute speech on the sins of their ancestors and what bastards the cops are. I’m not asking for outright weeping like the mayor of Minneapolis at the Golden Coffin, but it has to be utterly convincing or we won’t buy it.
    The whole town could be invited.
    It would be an absolutely wonderful thing to watch.

    Seriously, how can a person be an economist (or newsman for that matter) and hold as many biases as that guy does? It’s just the nature of the beast I guess, like sociologists, economists already know the answer to the question before it’s asked

    Oh well, the outrage about fat shaming is obviously just a tactic. You use it when you gain something (so to speak), don’t when it’s of no use.
    It’s kind of like the uproar about gathering in groups back when it was people going to the beach. Now, the MSM and the folks in continuous coup mode thinks it’s A-OK to burn down buildings and gather in huge crowds. Truth is, they never really cared all that much except in how it suited their own political kinks.
    That’s the beautiful thing about political arguments. They are nearly always just people scrabbling about for ‘proof’ to backup an opinion they already had. My own push is that I just really like Western Civilization, with all it’s faults. The US is an interesting variant on the theme. The style of government can vary quite a lot if the underlying population is tolerably high functioning. The seeming fact the the US Left, at least the part that isn’t simply an ethnic group looking out for it’s own interests, is veering towards the destruction of something so old as something intolerably evil is quite a mystery to me.
    The mind virus that has taken over the (mostly) urban white progressives is a damned odd thing. If successful, they disappear in a generation. They won’t even have the excuse of a Thera or Sea People.

    I will (eventually) respond to your good comments @ 10:08 in Riot Reflections at some point to keep with Dr. Rebane’s repeated requests we post comments under the proper headings/topics.
    When I do respond it will go something like this: If America is irredeemably racist with its Systemic Racism and White Privilege and racist founding… that it is imbrued in our Nation and nothing will fix that. Nothing. That explains why instead of working on resolving the problem through the ballot box, the Mob’s only Solution is to burn it all down and start anew with a new America. As someone has already posted a link somewhere, they are not interested in reform but only in Revolution. Thus, with Revolution as the goal, there is no need to put forth policies or agendas or even condemn the riots. The stain is such that it can never be removed…except for the complete destruction of everything ‘for which she stands’….from the Constitution (our playbook) to their playbook which requires the total destruction of ‘for which she stands.’
    Even my or the readers’ ‘White Privilege’ in 2020 cannot be solved…there is no solution to it, so burn it all down and see what comes out of the ashes. That’s their playbook.
    Looking around, it’s had to say they seek justice. Even bending the knell and prostrating before them will not remove the indelible stain…so it’s a waste of time. There is not enough money in the world that monetary reparations will satisfy the Mob. Their lust for power and control is insatiable.
    Reform is not what they seek. Penitence only strokes their cruelty. Humiliation of their opponents is delightful to them. It is not justice they seek. It is not balancing the books for injury or harm done. The sins our our fathers can only be washed away by washing America away.
    As one deceased pollster Patrick Cadell said from his own research, people feared there will always be a United States, but there may not always be an America. Thus he was a lone wolf predicting Trump’s 2016 election. Indeed there will always be a United States, but there may not always be an America…for which she stands
