[Apologies for letting the 2jun20 Sandbox get out of hand with all of its misplaced comments that I should have deleted as they appeared.  Here I’m talking about the pandemic and George Floyd response comments that had homes under my other topical commentaries.  I’ll try to do a much better job in this sandbox to delete all misplaced comments immediately before they become lengthy discussion threads.  And thanks for your support.  gjr]

Gen. Mark Milley regrets appearing with Trump, the man that has no friends, for photo op:
“Gen. Mark Milley, the nation’s top military officer, expressed his regret on Thursday for walking with President Donald Trump across Lafayette Square for a photo op after authorities forcefully cleared the area of protesters, calling the appearance a “mistake.”
“I should not have been there,” said Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, in a video commencement address to National Defense University. “As a commissioned uniformed officer, it was a mistake that I have learned from, and I sincerely hope we all can learn from it.”
Milley acknowledged to the NDU graduates that his presence at the photo op inappropriately politicized the military.
“That sparked a national debate about the role of the military in civil society,” Milley said. “My presence in that moment and in that environment created a perception of the military involved in domestic politics.”
“We who wear the cloth of our nation come from the people of our nation, and we must hold dear the principle of an apolitical military that is so deeply rooted in the very essence of our republic,” he said.
Milley also spoke on the murder of George Floyd, saying that he was “outraged” by the “senseless, brutal killing.”

    Disavow Punch?
How can you not disavow Punch……you were all in a spin about Trump disavowing something that he almost certainly had no idea had even happend (those nitwits reenacting the Floyd killing). Now I’ve shown you where leftist violence had clearly occurred in Portland……you are a man of the left….following your own twisted logic YOU MUST DISAVOW OR IT IS AN ENDORSEMENT OF THAT VIOLENCE.
    disavow?

…and just what violence did the people in that photo commit?
BLM is a political organization that you have spoken favorably of in the past. Their signs and banners were visible in the area where the victim was brutalized in Portland. FOLLOWING YOUR OWN LINE OF REASONING YOU HAVE A MORAL OBLIGATION TO DISAVOW THOSE SPECIFIC ACTS.

You represent yourself as a member of the media and a “mover and shaker” in local politics. Your responsibilities are different but you still immerse yourself in and espouse leftist political ideology and opinions. Based on your response, or lack thereof, I can only assume that the violence demonstrated in Portland is acceptable under your belief system.
I’m sorry, I realize that this is difficult for you.

    Thank you!
You must know that as one libertarian leaning there is no way I can make you responsible for or call upon you to have an opinion one way or another regarding the Portland incident. Similarly, President or not….. you can’t hold Trump culpable for anything any random yahoo does….even if he does it in front of a TRUMP banner.
Its a stupid tack….one you should abandon, it makes you look silly.

In other news, Trump is going to Mt. Rushmore for fireworks on the 4th of July. The great Governor of the Great State of South Dakota said that 7,200 tickets are available and her office has received 125,000 requests for tickets. BTW, neither Mount Rushmore nor SD was shut down during the killer plague. Guidelines were issued and she trusted the good law abiding folks of her state to make responsible decisions and take personal responsibility. Can’t expect that in CA..

Oh well – change for the good.
Let’s hope this is a lasting trend. No-knock warrants were set-ups for tragic deaths of innocent folk from the start.

Our great National Guard Troops who took care of the area around the White House could hardly believe how easy it was. “A walk in the park”, one said. So Trump demanded that there would be no social distancing or masks at his rally in North Carolina. Unbelievable that our President would require people at his convention to put their lives in danger if they wanted to attend.
“President Donald Trump called North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper Friday, asking him to allow the GOP convention to go on as planned in Charlotte with no social distancing and no masks.

Note to emperor xi, don’t believe your own propaganda. How much damage have the chi coms confucius institutes done to our university students –
WASHINGTON (AP) — For the first time in nearly three years, three American aircraft carriers are patrolling the Indo-Pacific waters, a massive show of naval force in a region roiled by spiking tensions between the U.S. and China and a sign that the Navy has bounced back from the worst days of the coronavirus outbreak.
The unusual simultaneous appearance of the three warships, accompanied by Navy cruisers, destroyers, fighter jets and other aircraft, comes as the U.S. escalates criticism of Beijing’s response to the coronavirus outbreak, its moves to impose greater control over Hong Kong and its campaign to militarize human-made islands in the South China Sea.
“There have been some indications in Chinese writings that the United States was hit hard by COVID-19, that military preparedness was low, so perhaps there is an effort by the United States to signal China that it should not miscalculate,” said Bonnie Glaser, director of the China Power Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. “The Chinese will definitely portray this as an example of U.S. provocations, and as evidence that the U.S. is a source of instability in the region.”

Hey Paul, remember when the Buffoons were bitterly complaining that the Dems were holding up the last big spending bill. Well now,
“A massive new economic stimulus that clocks in at $3 trillion—even more than the historic $2 trillion package passed in March—would provide most Americans with another installment of $1,200 for each individual, with a maximum of $6,000 per household.“
But now the GOP may be holding the bill up.

    Here’s the difference
The bars that will open in Nevada City will have to adhere to strict rules as outlined in phase 3 State guidelines. Trump is proposing no guidelines or requirements and in North Carolina wanted no masks to be worn. That’s the difference.

For the past two weeks the government and disease control agencies have been mute over protests occurring across the US. In fact it was a publicly stated position of the CDC that “White Supremecy” was worse than the pandemic. So get the fuck out there and riot!
This criminal policy position will likely fuel the second wave this fall of that which they claimed to be terrified.
Anyway I would think that to balance the scales you would want an arena full of Trump supporters crammed together in an enclosed space infecting each other.
