   L 1054am – The story I’ve heard for years is that all the holidays that can be moved have been moved to the nearest weekend to make as many 3 or 4-day weekends as possible while keeping the holiday still in the same/original month. I think both the tourist and industrial lobbyists made that happen with the argument that having a holiday in the middle of a workweek is a waste.

   George @ 11:53- Yeah, that’s my understanding as well. May 31, however is next Sunday, not in the middle of the week. Something wrong with having the extra day fall in the next month? Just make the extra day Friday instead of Monday.
   No, I think there is probably another explanation (probably involving money) out there- anyone?

   Typical desperation move on the part of the RNC. Nevada County had no issues with mail in voting. Many RNC types have been voting absentee for years but they remain as crickets.

    Dunno about that Walt, I would have thought the same thing about other holidays as well, but there seems to be a breed of people in the last few decades who just enjoy crapping on everything traditional and decent about America. Keach, who hates on everything 24/7 is the perfect example. Imagine enjoying your morning coffee and having nothing more rewarding to do than to post his 6:49 and 7:08 tripe. Wish he’d find something less soul-destroying to entertain himself, ’cause he sure isn’t entertaining anyone sane.

    Yes, The LIBS love the idea of a ballot with no chain of custody.
    Read the fine print? Ballots even go to INACTIVE voters.
    The LIBS can make the argument that every grave is an “inactive” voter. Felons at extended stay Folsom, and San Quentin fall into that category too.
    It took weeks just for Nevada County to count the mail in fiasco.
