Villanueva said the inmates were not only drinking from the same bottle to try to get coronavirus, but they were drinking the hot water to falsely show high-temperature symptoms of it.
“Under normal circumstances, no one would be doing that anyway, particularly when everyone has the same access to the water. … No one shares this,” Villanueva said. “Now, they’re sharing the hot water and using the same bottle.”
Other footage shows inmates drinking from the same Styrofoam cup and sniffing from a mask in order to infect themselves with coronavirus.
Villanueva said the inmates were deliberately crowding together and not social distancing despite being held in the relatively large space where distancing is possible.
“It’s sad to think that someone deliberately tried to expose themself to [coronavirus],” Villanueva said. “As a result of this behavior, from this particular modular, 21 inmates tested positive for [coronavirus] in a week of these videos being taken.”
“That is problematic because somehow there was a mistake in belief among the inmate population that if they tested positive that there was a way to force our hand and release more inmates out of our jail environment,” Villanueva said. “And that’s not going to happen.”

A University of Arkansas engineering professor was charged with wire fraud for failing to disclose his close ties to the Chinese government and businesses while trying to secure federal grants from NASA, the Justice Department said Monday.
Simon Saw-Teong Ang, 63, of Fayetteville, received more than $5 million in federal funding for research projects but violated university policy in failing to reveal his ties to Beijing. It is a sad day as I canceled my subscription of over fifty years from the Union Newspaper. It Editor and Publisher keep allowing people to slander and libel me and when I respond they take my comments off. They say I am “name calling” when I defend myself. Of course the true name calling is the idiots that slander me. So after many attempts to get them to stop printing the crap I have given up. Obviously they have a burr in their saddle against me and conservatives. They print article calling us the vilest names and the President is fair game for their vile words. But when we respond they toss our comments. This is why the paper is down to a few pages and hardly any ads. Half the county supports my positions yet they don’t get any ink. If you trash the conservatives and the President you get all the front page ink you can get as well as columns and letters. So I said cancel me you biased assholes and when the paper folds for lack of people like me that always supported it, maybe in your forced retirement you might understand what you did. Well, maybe not. I have always been amazed at the lack of self awareness these people in the print press have to their own bias against us. Thoughts from the Great Hunkering Down
1) Since everything we have been told about Russiagate has turned out to be a big fat lie, it is indeed time to call t what it is: Obamagate.
2) Bill Barr (the demonized) does not do things like the way the Obama DOJ operated. He has Comey dead to rights for lying, but it ain’t his style to open an investigation with process crimes and petty stuff and violations of the Justice Department rule book. We have McCabe lying 4 times to FBI agents, 3 under oath. He got fired. Peter got kicked off the Mueller team and later fired. AG Barr is looking into the bigger picture, not touting small stuff and holding press conferences about small stuff petty process crimes and destroying people’s lives….like George the Greek and the innocent Carter Page (who was never even charged with spitting on the sidewalk) ….until the Uncovering is over. If and when there are notches on Bill Barr’s belt, they will be big ones and beyond any shadow of doubt. Or conversely, if Barr fails to charge based on the evidence, it is because he seeks true justice, not convictions.
3) Biggest puzzle. Why this unhinged reaction by Obama and his army of journalists and pundits and Democrats at the very mention of Obama’s alleged involvement in Obamagate?
My guess is that Obama is the de facto leader of the Democratic Party. He fills the void. Biden will win the nomination, but he is not the leader of the party. Hillary? No, she ain’t the leader. It’s Obama in essence, if not in title.
Obama is the closest thing the Dems have to a FDR in terms of being the face and embodiment of the Democrat Party. FDR represents what the Democrat Party is all about and is revered…like Obama. Fond memories, Obama was a good Democrat expressing the values of the Democrat Party, like FDR.
So, when you point the finger at Obama, you are ‘smearing’ or demeaning the whole concept what the Dems and liberals and Progressives stand for. Obama is the face of the leader of the Party, not AOC or Bernie or the Justice Democrats, albeit there are crossovers…like the GND.
No dissing the Scared Cow! Must not go there.
If Justice is served, it was served to Obama when in 2016 he campaigned he was not on the ballot, but his ideas, agenda, and policies were. It drives Michelle and Barry nuts that the voters rejected them….after they both “campaigned soooo hard” in 2016, per both of their latest statements. Why did the voters not stay the Obama course? A most bitter pill for the former First Family to swallow…and they both brought it up again and separately in the last few days.
