Rev. Tony Spell, pastor of Life Tabernacle Church in the city of Central, LA says that “true Christians do not mind dying” of the virus if they contracted the disease in church. “The Bible teaches us to be absent from our bodies is to be present with the Lord.” he said.
He has been charged with six counts of violating Louisiana’s ban of large gatherings after he continued to hold services. The church ran a fleet of 26 busses bringing hundreds of parishioners to his Palm Sunday services. He faces six months in jail and a $500 fine for each count.

Is there any doubt this is the worst presidential administration ever?
Although President Trump has directed states and hospitals to secure what supplies they can, the federal government is quietly seizing orders, leaving medical providers across the country in the dark about where the material is going and how they can get what they need to deal with the coronavirus pandemic.
Hospital and clinic officials in seven states described the seizures in interviews over the past week. The Federal Emergency Management Agency is not publicly reporting the acquisitions, despite the outlay of millions of dollars of taxpayer money, nor has the administration detailed how it decides which supplies to seize and where to reroute them.
Officials who’ve had materials seized also say they’ve received no guidance from the government about how or if they will get access to the supplies they ordered. That has stoked concerns about how public funds are being spent and whether the Trump administration is fairly distributing scarce medical supplies.
“In order to have confidence in the distribution system, to know that it is being done in an equitable manner, you have to have transparency,” said Dr. John Hick, an emergency physician at Hennepin Healthcare in Minnesota who has helped develop national emergency preparedness standards through the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine.

HeShe just picked up a story from the LA Times without attribution. No doubt Ms. Mary checks some sort of progressive news aggregator every day and cuts ‘n pastes them. My guess is that if there’s bitching about ‘fairness’, the system is working pretty well.
I don’t doubt that FEMA is fighting with some health organizations for stuff. It just shows how centralized handling of emergencies turns into a big mess. So much for big government.

A defense official on Wednesday issued a rare denial of reports by ABC News and others that claimed a November intelligence assessment warned about a rapidly spreading coronavirus in China that posed a threat to American forces in the region.
The official said no such assessment existed.
ABC News cited unnamed officials with knowledge of the assessment by the military’s National Center for Medical Intelligence (NCMI) that raised concerns of the coronavirus and highlighted how it was disputing daily life and business in the area.
Col. R. Shane Day, the director of the NCMI, a component of the Defense Intelligence Agency, refuted the ABC News report in a statement.
“As a matter of practice the National Center for Medical Intelligence does not comment publicly on specific intelligence matters,” he said. “However, in the interest of transparency during this current public health crisis, we can confirm that media reporting about the existence/release of a National Center for Medical Intelligence Coronavirus-related product/assessment in November of 2019 is not correct.
No such NCMI product exists.”
