[Just happened to visit Nevada County Voices, an info website run by our favorite climate catastrophe czarina, Dr Anna Haynes. It appears that since the passing of Russ Steele, RR remains as the sole active 'rightwing' website in these parts. On her resourceful site we are properly relegated to the extreme right column that is off-page, so it will not surprise and offend the more sensitive eyes of her polite company visitors (a trigger warning pointer is provided). I continue to note over the years that Dr Haynes' political spectrum remains one-winged. Nowhere are her voluminous lists of left-leaning sites so identified. I suppose all of those are like our self-proclaimed centrists Bob Crabb and George Boardman – politically vanilla, untinged and untrammeled by any shade of partisanship. We are properly put in our place. gjr]

“I thought Mexico was going to pay for the wall. Trump made that promise. If he would have kept his promise it would have been built by now. What happened?”
It looks to me like they spent their wall money on their southern border. They don’t want huddled masses any more than the US.
That’s because the Mexicans are racist! Yes….horribly racist to want to maintain some semblance of order within the country and at their Southern Border.
Does anyone know why Punch and dugsKKKi want so many poor south and central Americans to flood the country? What are they doing with them?

Isn’t that the 64 million dollar question? In my mind it’s the thing that will tear apart the West, all this business about single-payer healthcare and mentally ill men in dresses is just a bit of noise.
Maybe it’s because of a poem stuck on the Statue of Liberty that has nothing to do with it’s installation written by a Zionist activist (and almost immediately followed by decades of basically zero immigration)? Probably not, that’s not a law or anything.
I think it can be explained in that they favor the rest of the world over their own neighbors. It’s a perverse way of thinking, and probably new in history, but distressingly common anymore.
Oh well, the main side effect is that I’m not going to watch out for anyone who won’t watch out for me. One more of the thousand cuts that destroy communities.

Here’s another quote by Trump just a couple of weeks ago that demonstrates why no one believes a word he says and that he just makes things up.
“When you have 15 people, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero, that’s a pretty good job we’ve done.”

Dementia Joe is going to be propped up for 5 minutes speaking engagements. Every month, someone will be in charge of turning the knob in the back of his neck to stretch that face just leetle bit tighter.
Bernie sez that ‘real socialism has never been tried’. Just on cue.
It’s not such a bad time to have a germophobe be President. I expect you’ll see overkill the other way. Keeping both the economy going and the virus quelled at the same time is tricky. The locals are going to buy essential oils at Briar Patch to wave away the miasma and keep what’s left of our local economy going.
We could hand out disinfectants and rags to the local homeless, but they’ll just drink it.
KVMR will interview Pascale for news as the epidemic marches uphill.
A Tiny Prediction: The homeless are using bus stops as ‘safe spaces’. Between that and fear of the flu, you can expect a drop in public transit use.

‘GOP approval rises, Democrats fall post-impeachment in Gallup poll’
“A new Gallup poll finds congressional Republicans with a higher approval rating than Democrats in the wake of President Trump’s impeachment and acquittal in the Senate.
Republicans get a 40 percent approval rating, compared to 35 percent for Democrats.
The Gallup poll found that since October, shortly after Democrats launched the impeachment inquiry, the approval rating for Republicans in the Gallup poll has gone up 6 points, from 34 percent to 40 percent. Democrats saw their approval rating fall over the same period from 38 percent to 35 percent.
The disapproval rating in the Gallup poll for Democrats rose from 57 percent to 62 percent.
The findings are also significant — since Gallup began polling of lawmakers in 1999, Democrats have tended to have a higher approval rating than Republicans.
Gallup wrote that the approval rating for Republicans has largely gone up because Republican and Republican-leaning respondents are giving them higher marks for their work.
Gallup also found that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) had a 33 percent approval rating, the highest number he has achieved since the pollster started rating him in 2010. McConnell’s figures largely rose on the strength of Republicans, perhaps because they favored his handling of the impeachment fight. His rating among Republicans and Republican-leaning respondents rose 15 points.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) approval number remained roughly the same at 39 percent, though her unfavorable rating rose from 50 percent in October to 55 percent now. “

APPROVAL OF CONGRESSIONAL REPUBLICANS RISING
“What happened to cause voters to look with more favor on Congressional Republicans? I assume it was the fact that they advanced the Trump administration’s agenda through, for example, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and judicial confirmations. They no doubt looked particularly good compared with the grotesquely obstructionist Democrats.
The interesting question is, will current trends continue between now and November? I don’t see any reason why they shouldn’t; Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer aren’t going to shed their stripes during the next eight months. If that assumption is correct, Republicans could have a resounding 2020, especially if buoyed by President Trump’s re-election over a sad sack Joe Biden.“

Another SCOTUS victory! –
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday handed a win to President Donald Trump by leaving in effect a policy that requires thousands of people seeking asylum at the southern border to wait in Mexico while their claims are adjudicated.
The court granted an emergency request filed by the administration and lifted a partial block on the program imposed by the San Francisco-based 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. The appeals court on Feb. 28 issued a ruling blocking the policy but then immediately put it on hold while the Trump administration asked the Supreme Court to intervene.
The brief court order noted that one of the nine justices, liberal Sonia Sotomayor, would have denied the application.

How the Squad rebuilt the Dem’s Blue Wall
“Just look at the absurd stridency with which the Squad advance their carefully curated list of obsessions: the urgent need to reorganize language and social life around the requirements of a minuscule number of transsexuals; the conviction that anyone with doubts about ‘democratic socialism’ is a ‘white supremacist’, even though the black voters of Michigan clearly have doubts of their own; the curing of the failures of bureaucracy by adding more bureaucracy; the morbid fantasy that Donald Trump spends his waking hours thinking of ways to control women’s fertility; the indubitable splendidness of Islamism; and of course the wickedness of Israel, which is always the sub-theological giveaway of socialism’s grand theory of resentment.
Much of this falls where it originates, in the realm of collective delusion and the virtual world of entertainment that sustains it. None of it has anything to contribute to the issues that matter to American voters. And despite all the pettiness and nastiness and agitation, none of this has achieved anything in reality. Except of course, to rebuild the Blue Wall in Michigan, to the benefit of recidivist class enemy Joe Biden. Squad goals!“

President Donald Trump did not have a serious 2020 presidential primary challenger in Michigan on Tuesday, but Republicans came out in force to vote for their president anyway.
Trump earned 639,143 votes for president on Tuesday from Republicans according to data from the Associated Press (100 percent of precincts reporting).
That is more than three times the amount that former President Barack Obama received in his Michigan incumbent presidential primary in 2012.
Obama received 174,054 votes from Democrats in his largely uncontested Michigan primary in 2012, according to the state election results.
The Trump campaign has used the Republican primaries in 2020 to run up the score for the president and organize voters for the 2020 general election
“The energy and enthusiasm behind Donald Trump is unmatched,” wrote Trump Campaign Communications Director Tim Murtaugh on Wednesday. “Supporters have been eager to get engaged in the electoral process which will end in a Trump victory in November.”

The kilometres-thick ice sheets atop land masses at the planet’s extremities sloughed off 6.4 trillion tonnes of mass from 1992 through 2017, adding nearly two centimetres (an inch) to the global watermark, according to an assessment by 89 researchers, the most comprehensive to date.”

PaulE 926pm – Professional measurements like this always come with error bars and confidence intervals. Did you notice where these were published? BTW, 2.54cm = 1 inch. That means that the claimed sea level rise was 0.79 of an inch in 25 years, or at the rate of about 0.03 of inch a year. It’s real hard to get accurate measurements of such small values from such a large and dynamic system as the world’s oceans. And it’s even harder to get excited about it, especially when we have no clue as to whether it’s human caused or how humans can have any effect on it.

The homeowners, neighborhoods and taxpayers in general have suffered too much abuse and it looks like it’s the tipping point. Sacramento thinking they can destroy the residential property owners protections by decree is not going to fly. Then you have the gas tax outcome that everyone knew was going to happen, again.
The good ideas on the ballots will still survive if they have merit. –
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Everyone knows that living in California comes with a price: Its residents pay some of the nation’s highest taxes on the money they earn, the gas they pump and the clothes they wear. But for the moment, at least, it appears voters have had enough.
The defeat Tuesday of the largest borrowing proposal in the history of California schools — $15 billion for repairs — has opened the question of whether Californian voters put a temporary halt to the growth of government debt because of the unsettled political scene, or because they are on the cusp of a tax revolt akin to one in the 1970s that brought landmark changes to property taxes.
By itself, the crash of the question on the March 3 primary ballot was striking — it’s been a generation since a state school bond failed and there was no telling moment prior to the election indicating voters had soured on it.
But it didn’t stop there. Voters rejected more than half of the 237 local tax and bond measures on that ballot, with several dozen contests still undecided as California authorities wade through hundreds of thousands of uncounted ballots, according to a tally by the California Taxpayers Association.

We have half as much carbon in the air now as the Earth had, say, 400,000 years ago, 8ppb verses today’s 4ppb.
The sea levels in previous ages have risen 12-20 feet. Of course, to rise to those levels, it took at least 25,000 years. We have plenty of warning. Nothing new under the sun.

Your 9:51 opinion on the matter of rising sea levels is very short sighted and supports the real possibility for disaster for future generations.

re: Sea level changes (a typical out of the blue ace KVMR reporter subject change in the age of pandemic. Go figure).
Dunno why people make such a big deal about that. It’s not any kind of epic problem to ecosystems. I’d rather hear about runaway feedback loops with tundra or methane deposits, coral reef issues, all the bees dying or something. At least in those cases, you are arguing about real problems rather than worrying about having to move some grossly overpopulated city a few miles inland or the destruction of a beach house.
For that matter, if human-caused pollution and habitat destruction is a big deal, why not recognize that (a)the US is becoming less dirty over time and (b)overpopulation is a third world problem, particularly (upcoming) in Africa?
I guess the main problem is that you can’t sell any tickets to a Save the Earth benefit concert on the notion of population reduction or keeping mass immigration out of the First World. Wanna save the planet? Carpet bomb sub-Saharan Africa, China, and India with condoms and the will to use them.
