“,,,Aren’t these states big Trump supporters???
Here’s a look at the 10 most obese states in the U.S. ”
My, what an original thesis. While I can’t see any point in just phoning in your theory of the day I appreciate the effort.
Bummer that the studies never show how fat liberals are in West Virginia, that might actually be of use. Of course, I strongly suspect that Comma Man’s BMI would be a source of some amusement here.
Hunt around for a bit, and health tends to follow social capital. Vermont, Colorado, Utah. Find what links those together and you might have something.

Those also look like big bible belt states…
    And Oxycontin abuse states…
    and most poorly educated…
Between the junk food, junk religion, junk education, and just plain junk going up their noses
    …you get Trump true believers!!!
The states ranked 41-50 (((most poorly educated))) in order were:
    Tennessee
    New Mexico
    Nevada
    South Carolina
    Kentucky
    Alabama
    Arkansas
    Louisiana
    West Virginia

It would have been even greater had they used the crosswalks and looked both ways before stepping into the streets . Perhaps next year police could issue jaywalking citations.
“Intelligent young people” my arse. They may agree with Punch but that doesn’t make them smart, and they may on average be less ancient than Punch but that doesn’t make them young.

One small error in the orangeman’s false claims –Across the nation republicans have LOST 650 seats in state and the national elections since trumpler took office. Strong as ever..LOL trumpler is a cancerous tumor growing not only on the republican party but on the nation as a whole. No question marks needed, Dr. Rebane. It’s all personal. No just the facts, ma’am. Dershowitz is just the latest one to be shunned by friends and colleagues alike…along with the flood of hate from fat boys in mommie’s basement.
Alan is not a full time member of the Trump defense team. He will be arguing to the Senate solely on the Constitutional matters of Impeachment. He is not involved with the ins and outs of the case.
Al an D. has argued 250 cases before the appellant courts in his 50 year career and never once has been asked a question he was not prepared for. Not even once has he been thrown a question he has no answer for…..contrary to what CNN and other ignorant talking heads are spewing currently that Shiffilis is going to walk right over Trump’s team, lol. Dream on.
But, my good Doctor Rebane, , back to those question marks. Ever read To Kill A Mocking Bird? Great novel required I. My non union public school in junior high. Glad that the 100 or so who showed up for the Women’s March in NC had a good time and the weather cooperated. Just imagine if it was a repeat of Thursday’s snowstorm that hit the burg. Oh my.
With thousands of people in town filling the restaurants and streets and folks renting out the back bedrooms for the Film Festivity, it makes me question the mantra of “without legalizing marijuana, the sidewalks would roll up and Nevada City would die like a tumbleweed blowing in the wind.”
Don’t know about the local gathering, but it seems the Women March organization is (besides killing babies) is more about climate change and anti-Trump and divers other social issues than domestic violence, education for impoverished women, etc.
Seems to me the National Organization has lost its singleness of purpose, a death nail to many movements that have emerged and dried up before them.
    I could be wrong.
2020 Women’s March Peters Out After Women Discover Trump’s Not Destroying Their Lives
Maybe the Women’s March is losing support because it has become more about a man than it is about women
    https://thefederalist.com/2020/01/19/2020-womens-march-peters-out-after-women-discover-trumps-not-destroying-their-lives/
    ————-
“Gathering from the signs and chants, the march was much more about Trump than about women. One woman was dressed as a prisoner, ostensibly pretending to be Trump, and carried a sign with some gibberish about Mar-a-Lago. Another person had wrapped their dog in a sign that stated, no “pussy grabbing.” Many signs said Trump simply had to go. This wasn’t a march for women — this was a march against Trump, marketed toward women.
I have always been tremendously critical of the Women’s March, and my experiences today added a new layer of disappointment with the entire enterprise. The radical political positions the organization espouses are obviously tangential to the Trump hatred that has become the group’s raison d’être. Look no further than where the march itself ended — right in front of Trump International Hotel. The significant gap between the march’s purported mission and its actual focus is not lost on me.
In order to justify the march’s obsession with Trump, there would have to be some noticeable reduction of women’s rights under the Trump administration, but such a reduction simply doesn’t exist. It’s possible that former marchers realize that, which might explain why today’s numbers were a pitiful showing compared to 2017’s attendance. There was so much anger in 2017, motivated by frankly hysterical predictions that never actually came to fruition, predictions peddled by the Women’s March.
We’re not wearing handmaiden’s dresses, and we’re not marching around in chains. In other words, the sky never fell, but Chicken Little is still hollering — albeit, as today showed, fewer people are listening.“

    Lol.
    ELIZABETH WARREN, “GIFTED STORYTELLER”
That’s how the New York Times characterizes the Massachusetts Senator in an editorial today. I would have said “liar,” but why quibble? Whether it’s falsely claiming to be an Indian or falsely claiming she was let go from a teaching job because she was pregnant, Warren’s ability to spin a yarn is undeniable.
Ironically, the Times’ characterization of Warren appears in an editorial endorsing her for president. Such must be the bubble the editors inhabit that no one noticed the irony.
Bizarrely, the Times endorsed two Democrats — Warren and Amy Klobuchar. The editorial board must be split between pragmatists and hard core ideologues.
There is no split when it comes to feminism, though. The Times picked the female pragmatist and the female ideologue. Coincidence? I doubt it.
The Times trashed the leading male pragmatist, Joe Biden. It called him, in essence, too old for the job.
The Times also trashed the leading male ideologue, Bernie Sanders. It described him as, in essence, an inflexible crank.
The Times is right about both of these male candidates. But it’s the description of Warren as a gifted storyteller that really nails it, albeit inadvertently.

I forgot Biggums! Did you forget “M” and Ozz and Rock Hunter and……well, how easily we forget. Lars too! It’s like walking over unmarked graves.
On a more tasteful topic, how about some Daily Quotes:
Insight: “A government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this earth.” —Ronald Reagan
Editorial exegesis: “We should recognize [Martin Luther] King’s role in paving the way for progress even as we acknowledge there’s still a long way to go. Yet it’s important also to acknowledge that those who claim to be carrying on King’s struggle for justice in modern times have strayed far from his dream of his children growing up ‘in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.’ Instead, they have embraced an identity politics that veers from merely fighting against all forms of discrimination, to carving people up by race, gender, sexual orientation, and placing those distinctions above all else. … From his jail cell in Birmingham, Alabama, he called out the ‘white moderate’ who looked the other way on racial prejudice and the ‘black nationalist’ who had ‘lost faith in America’ and ‘repudiated Christianity.’ He spared no criticism and rejected tribalism in all of its forms.” —Washington Examiner
For the record: “The Government Accounting Office determined that Barack Obama broke the law seven times. By the left’s logic, Obama should have been impeached seven times! Where was Pelosi’s outrage then?” —Gary Bauer
Nailed it: “Nancy Pelosi is going out on TV crowing that the president has been impeached forever. Well, when we get to final judgment, the president will have been acquitted forever of these bogus impeachment charges.” —Sen. Ted Cruz
Grand delusions: “We saw a strong case, an infallible, undeniable case for the impeachment of the president, so no future president would ever think she or he could get away with what President Trump has been getting away with in his view.” —Nancy Pelosi
Epic lack of self-awareness: “This is an election that will have such profound impact, so take your vote seriously. And for Democratic voters, try to vote for the person you think is most likely to win. Because at the end of the day, that is what will matter — and not just in the popular vote, but the electoral college.” —Hillary Clinton
Why her poll numbers are dropping: “How could the American people want someone who lies to them?” —Elizabeth “Fauxcahontas” Warren after being asked if lying should disqualify a candidate
And last… “How funny is it that CNN is coming after us for spreading disinformation? I find that kind of rich.” —Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon
Bonus: “Nancy prefers to drink Old Crow. Most fitting beverage for her.”—-Bill Tozer

Word of the Day! Today’s word is Petard.
    nounHISTORICAL
    noun: petard; plural noun: petards
a small bomb made of a metal or wooden box filled with powder, used to blast down a door or to make a hole in a wall.
a kind of firework that explodes with a sharp report.
Use in a sentence: Wile E. Coyote had a petard blow up in his face once again and forever more.
    VDH: “Progressive Petards”
“When the Left has to live according to its own rules, it will rue the loss of the civilization it destroyed.”
    https://amgreatness.com/2020/01/19/progressive-petards/
“These are strange times, in which progressives grow near quiet when courageous Iranians hit the streets to protest a murderous government, but express remorse over the killing of one of the most murderous of all Iranian autocrats.
For years, leftists have decried the bipartisan kid-gloves treatment of China, as its mercantilism systematically hollowed out the old Democratic blue-collar base in the Midwest—only to blast the first president who agreed that China had to be confronted before it eroded what was left of the American industrial heartland.
And we were always warned to fear the government overreach of the intelligence agencies, even as ex-high officials go on liberal networks, warping their use of their security clearances, to contextualize their own previous unethical behavior.
Of all the strange symptoms of Trump Derangement Syndrome, progressive self-immolation is the strangest.“

    Tragedy in Virginia……

U.S.—Somber members of the press offered their thoughts and prayers that someone would start some violence at the gun rights rally in Virginia today.

Reporters expressed their grief and condolences as the violence they hyped has so far failed to materialize.
“Nobody has so much as fired a shot. This is an unbelievable tragedy,” said one teary-eyed MSNBC reporter, clearly caught up in the anguish of the moment. “It’s tragic that we live in a country where reporters who are just minding their own business trying to push a narrative can have everything ripped away from them in an instant when protesters refuse to shoot at people.”

In the “conservative hypocrisy at its finest” category — with regard to the Clinton impeachment “It certainly doesn’t have to be a crime if you have somebody who completely corrupts the office of president and who abuses trust and who poses great danger to our liberty, you don’t need a technical crime….We look at their acts of state. We look at how they conduct the foreign policy. We look at whether they try to subvert the Constitution.” Trump shyster Alan Dershowitz said in 1998. Dershowitz has argued that a President’s conduct does not have to be criminal to be impeachable. They simply had to “corrupt the office of president” or abuse trust.
Of course, with the tables turned he had this to say the other day, “You need criminal-type behavior akin to treason and bribery.”

Alan Dershowitz’s point is nothing other than what Dr. Rebane’s and others have made abundantly clear since The Botox Queen Held on to the urgent articles. Nothing Trump has done has risen to the level of high crimes and misdemeanors. That’s is it in a nutshell.
During the impeachment debate when drafting the Constitution, the term “maladministion” was rejected by the body and mal administration was dropped as a high crime or misdemeanor. Removal/Acquittal of a President was such of an utmost and serious nature, that the Framers made it hard. Abuse of power? Nope. Obstructing Congress? Nope. Having the Chief Justice of the Court sitting there was just to add a judiciary element to it. Nobody knows what Roberts role is…probably not even Robert’s himself, lol.
The process of impeachment is another matter.
In common law, there were misdemeanors of such serious nature that it was a capital offense without the stain of ‘felony’. Killing a deer in the King’s private deer land comes to mind. Penalty was death. The Dims think of misdemeanors as jaywalking in modern terms, or like me, disregarding a jury summons once. 🙂
Bottomline, all the sock puppets know it’s going to end in an acquittal. All bar none. 2/3 of the Senate, not just a simple majority. Everybody knows how this will end. Oh, they are guaranteed embellish their points to make a mountain out of a molehill, but that’s a given. Like, when have they not not make it a crisis?
2/3 of the Senate is all it takes and the standard is high and burden of proof is on the Dims. Probably why the Blue Mob wants to destroy the Electoral College AND the Senate. Mob rule, one man one vote. A ‘true Democracy’. A true democracy has never survived in annuals of history. Always failed. Minority rights get overruled and tyranny ensures, but I digress.
If nothing else, the Dims can get all piss and vinegar mad at Alan Dershowitz and Moscow Mitch and “homo” Lindsey Graham and hate on Rand Paul once again, but, like the OJ trail, it will end in jury nullification, Can you say “Jury Nullification”?, ROFLMAO.
Let’s hear it for the toothless dogs! They will gum on my boots til Jan, 2015.

It can’t happen here. From the Drudge Report.
ICE issues list of ‘fugitive’ illegal immigrants freed by New York City’s sanctuary city policies
“ICE also issued a list of illegal immigrants currently in custody, who it says “may be released into New York communities” after they have served their sentences. Among the crimes for which those in custody have been charged include rape, murder and sexual assault against a child…
But Albence cited statistics saying that last year ICE lodged 7,526 detainers via its New York field office. Those individuals accounted for 17,873 criminal convictions and 6,500 criminal charges. He went on to say that those charges and convictions include over 200 homicides, over 500 robberies, over 1,000 sexual offenses, over 1,000 weapons offenses, and over 3,500 assaults.
However, only about 10 detainers were honored by the city, officials said.
“Those who politicize this issue want you to believe that you have to choose between being an immigrant-friendly city and one that cooperates with ICE,” Albence said. “Again that is simply false. The only immigrants protected by such policies are those committing violence and dangerous offenses, often in the same communities these politicians are purporting to protect.”

So IF you don’t maintain that a crime was committed by President Trump, what then is the reasonable basis for his having been impeached by the House?

re Trump’s “false or misleading claims” – I wonder what the count would be if, say, the claims of Obama or Nancy or Chuck or Adam or … were subjected to the same reckoning.
