The Great Divide and other topics
Democrats’ ‘unfixable’ extremism uses Trump as an excuse: Goodwin
.Even the election won’t be a cure. Regardless of who wins in November, it’s impossible to believe that a “Kumbaya” moment is on the horizon.
All of which explains why a new book by F.H. Buckley feels so timely. Called “American Secession,” it examines the growing prospect of a national divorce.
Democrats’ impeachment trial demands are plain ridiculous
“I see us on a train, bound for a breakup,” Buckley writes.
“In all the ways that matter, save for the naked force of the law, we are already divided into two nations. The contempt for opponents, the Twitter mobs, online shaming and no-platforming, the growing tolerance of violence — it all suggests we’d be happier in separate countries.”
To be clear, Buckley, a professor at George Mason University’s Scalia School of Law, is not advocating secession. But given the political, cultural, social and geographic divides, he believes it is time to consider the hurdles and whether they could be resolved.
He debunks the notion that it can’t happen here, that the carnage of the Civil War forever consigned the idea to the fringe. After surveying modern separatist movements from the breakup of the Soviet Union to Brexit to his native Canada, Buckley predicts that before long, the topic will go mainstream here as well.“

Here is a phrase that has been bantered about lately: narcissism of small difference.
Hatred of Donald Trump has been to some extent sidelined while what Freud called the “narcissism of small differences” plays out in bickering, backbiting, and political sabotage.
“Democrats Consume Themselves”
“First, however, since CNN apparently undertook its cheerleading for Warren in order to declare its feminist bona fides, I would like to pose a few questions as a sort of prolegomenon, what Kierkegaard, in another context, called a “preliminary expectoration.” 1) Why are feminists so unpleasant? 2) Why do they insist on whining instead of getting on with the task at hand? 3) Why do they tend to blame other people for their failures?
I do not propose to answer these questions—I am writing a column, not a book—but I would like to register my suspicion that part of the answer to all three is the dim, imperfectly articulated awareness that feminism’s real complaint is not with men or “the patriarchy” but with reality, with human nature.“

Here is how Proggys are trying to rewrite the Constitution.
“Hoyer, the number-two Democrat in the House, defended the House’s impeachment inquiry last month by remarking that Trump was afforded “every opportunity to prove his innocence.”
NO you son of a bitch,, you have to prove him guilty.
Try reading the 6TH Amendment. Or has that been repealed already?

,,,Here you go Waldo,,,Trump had every opportunity to testify and to provide witnesses…
He chickened out and obstructed Congress by not allowing certain witnesses to testify…
What is he hiding???
‘’’WASHINGTON — Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi invited President Donald Trump to testify in front of investigators in the House impeachment inquiry ahead of a week that will see several key witnesses appear publicly.
Pushing back against accusations from the president that the process has been stacked against him, Pelosi said Trump is welcome to appear or answer questions in writing, if he chooses.
“If he has information that is exculpatory, that means ex, taking away, culpable, blame, then we look forward to seeing it,” she said in an interview that aired Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation.” Trump “could come right before the committee and talk, speak all the truth that he wants if he wants,” she said.
Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer echoed that suggestion.
“If Donald Trump doesn’t agree with what he’s hearing, doesn’t like what he’s hearing, he shouldn’t tweet. He should come to the committee and testify under oath. And he should allow all those around him to come to the committee and testify under oath,” Schumer told reporters. He said the White House’s insistence on blocking witnesses from cooperating begs the question: “What is he hiding?”’’’

This is going to be a political earthquake but with actual documents and named sources unlike the crap that the socialist dems have spewed that proved to be SOOOOOO wrong! –
The forthcoming bombshell investigative book Profiles in Corruption: Abuse of Power by America’s Progressive Elite contains 1,126 endnotes totaling 83 pages of source material, Breitbart News has learned.
In addition, the book contains no unnamed sources. Instead, it is based on hard evidence and documents, including: foreign and domestic corporate and legal records, tax liens, lobbyist disclosures, property records, White House visitor logs, federal bankruptcies, and federal criminal trial records.
Publishing giant HarperCollins has kept Profiles in Corruption under a strict embargo. The book will reportedly expose how five members of Joe Biden’s family—the “Biden Five”—scored “tens of millions of dollars” in taxpayer money and guaranteed loans. In addition, the book is said to contain never-before-reported bombshell revelations about Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Amy Klobuchar, Cory Booker, Sherrod Brown, and Eric Garcetti.

An investigation by The Times into child grooming in towns across the north prompted an independent inquiry. Its 2014 report found that between 1997 and 2013 more than 1,400 Rotherham children were exposed to severe levels of sexual abuse and violence by groups of men who were “almost all” of Pakistani heritage. To date, 36 men have been convicted for crimes related to the scandal.”

My, that is a nice story. Referred to there (from the London Times):
“A senior police officer admitted that his force ignored the sexual abuse of girls by Pakistani grooming gangs for decades because it was afraid of increasing “racial tensions”, a watchdog has ruled.
After a five-year investigation, the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) upheld a complaint that the Rotherham officer told a missing child’s distraught father that the town “would erupt” if it was known that Asian men were routinely having sex with under-age white girls.
The chief inspector is said to have described the abuse as “P*** shagging” and to have said it had been “going on” for 30 years: “With it being Asians, we can’t afford for this to be coming out.””
Another article:
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/grooming-child-sex-abuse-exploitation-rotherham-rochdale-police-a9215261.html
“Almost 19,000 children have been sexually groomed in England in the past year, according to official figures that have prompted warnings of an “epidemic”.
Campaigners say the true figure is far higher and accused the government of failing to tackle child sexual exploitation, despite promises made after high-profile cases in Rotherham and Rochdale.”

The left gets them confused. Cruz is the Latino who identifies as an American, Beto is the Irish guy who identifies as a Latino. I judge bth on the content of their character….
“I do think what we have seen coming out of the House is an abuse of the Constitution,” Cruz told Fox News’s Maria Bartiromo. “And the reason is that they’re using this for political purposes. This is the first time in history any president is alleged – has been impeached without the articles alleging any criminal conduct at all, without alleging any federal crime was violated.”
“They don’t allege any federal law was violated. They don’t even allege as much as that the president has a speeding ticket, and that has never happened in our country’s history,” Cruz continued. “And to use impeachment like the House Democrats are doing, to express their political disagreement with the president, to try to overturn an election they’re unhappy with, that is an abuse of the Constitution.”“

Well, time to toss Stephen King under the bus and de-platform him. He needs to get up to date. Judging an artist’s work on its quality instead of factoring in diversity is so…..so….so 60’s. A throwback to racist America. Out of touch, boomer. Just like MLK.
https://www.nbcnews.com/pop-culture/pop-culture-news/stephen-king-backtracks-diversity-comments-after-criticism-n1115436
King’s remarks were quickly rebuffed, with many criticizing the novelist as being out of touch and “ignorant.”
“When you wake up, meditate, stretch, reach for your phone to check on the world and see a tweet from someone you admire that is so backward and ignorant you want to go back to bed,” DuVernay, whose docuseries “When They See Us,” recently won best limited series at the 2020 Critics Choice Awards.
Roxanne Gay, the award-winning author of “Bad Feminist” and “Hunger,” also stated she was disappointed with King’s comments.
“As a fan, this is painful to read from you. It implies that diversity and quality cannot be synonymous,” Gay tweeted. “They are not separate things. Quality is everywhere but most industries only believe in quality from one demographic.”
Imagine judging someone on the quality of their work in this day and age, lol. Where do these people come from?

odlaW 740pm – You again misunderstand (but in an illuminating way). I have never claimed that actual criminality is required to impeach. My counters have been to you and yours who allege that Trump violated some law as your justification for impeachment. As I and my learned betters have maintained all along, impeachment is a political act, the required justification for which is only the pleasure of the House. Of course, there will also be a political cost to those who gratuitously pursue impeachment and then Senate conviction for the President’s ouster. Dershowitz was merely trying once more to explain the matter to folks like you.
Even you must realize that the Dems would have pursued impeachment in a totally different manner had they any evidence that Trump had committed a crime for which existed a legal citation. The best they could come up with instead was “Obstruction of Congress” (not obstruction of justice) which in an of itself is NOT a crime, especially as one branch of government seeks to maintain its constitutional prerogatives against the encroachment of another branch. I hope all this is not too confusing, because understanding it is important.
