    Judging from my own quote from usconstitution.net, the implication appears to be that an impeachment occurs when the whole event occurs. Investigation (House) + trial (Senate).
    Unless the House Democrats are scared to send it to the Senate, certainly possible, everyone will get to put the ‘impeach’ stamp on Trump at some point so I wouldn’t worry about it.

    Scenes. Yep, we took a beating. But Claire Haskell is gone and the historical chances that the incumbent President would NOT loose the Senate in the midterms but losing the House was 13% . Keeping the Senate is why we are at where we are today. All things considered, it could have been worse. That last 10-11, 14 district races that rolled in late 100% for the Dems got Punchy doing cartwheels. And having the Super Majority the Statehouse sent him (them) into the stratosphere. Happy times are here again.
    But the silver lining is it was not the far far left and Jacobins that carried the day for Nancy. Nay. it was the moderate Dem Congress-critters that upset the Apple cart and gave Nancy the gavel for another two years…not the AOCs of the in-crowd. . And a lot of those “moderate” Dems are freshmen from districts Trump carried. Novices.
    Too bad Amy Minnesota Nice picked the moderate lane. Coming from an adjoining state and not too far left, one will think she would poll better in Iowa. Not left enough, thank goodness.
    Joe can claim their moderate mantle. He always polls between 24%, never lower, and 29%, never higher on national polls. Very interesting. I see opportunities.
    Yeah, I remember 2018. Mid-terms, wasn’t it? Was that when a bunch of Democrats ran on the promise to not back Queen Nan? New generation with a new explanation. Going a different direction. And, of course, the solemn promise to impeach Trump.

    That seems fair. OTOH, Wikipedia (the font of all knowledge) sez that the action by the House is sufficient for the moniker.
    Since it may never be passed to the Senate, you end up with an interesting situation. I wonder how long it stays valid…forever? until 2/3 of the Senate becomes Democrat in 2020? A strange old journey.
    It’s a bummer that the whole process has been made use of for purely political reasons, but that’s the case for all three instances. I’d probably have written the Constitution to require a 2/3 vote in the House so as to avoid these misuses.

    If it does not change jurisdictions from the House to the Senate, it stays in the House and never leaves. If the chain of transfer is broken….if never left the House and sits there in mumbo jumbo as big ole nothing burger, then I believe that the Impeachment process has not been completed. We wii see in a month. Last week in Jan or first week in Feb, maybe.
    If not…..
    It’s to their benefit. They will start waving those papers every time Trump the Master Troller trolls them. Probably keep copies in their car, at home, and wherever they go. Why????
    Because they have no ammo. Shooting blanks. They need more time to find something to add to the articles. It’s still in the House. You didn’t think Trump obstructing the obstruction of justice in the Mueller Report would just simply go ahead, did ya? And don’t forget about those taxes. SCOTUS will rule on that in June.
    Bottomline: they need more time to find any smoking gun from anywhere. One that can stand up and pass scrutiny. Something you look at and say, “Yeah, that looks like a high crime, duh.”
    This is just Round One. Rid America of Trump is their only goal in life. Well maybe not the only goal in the personal lives, but impeaching Trump sits at the top of heart, soul, mind.
    Just one of those things in life when you sigh, breath, and accept that is how it’s going to be going forward. The hits will just keep on coming. I am learning to life with it. It’s all Kavanaugh. Those images are burned in my mind. Brrrrrrrr. Shake it off.
