The results of the socialist Soros’s millions to radical social justice DA candidates! –
McSwain blamed Krasner for fostering what he called an environment of “disrespect for law enforcement” that emboldened the gunman to open fire at officers from the Philadelphia Police Department’s Narcotics Strike Force who were attempting to serve a warrant in the Nicetown neighborhood.
“Where does such disrespect come from?” McSwain said. “It started with chants at the DA’s victory party- chants of ‘F— the police’ and ‘No good cops in a racist system.’
McSwain called Krasner’s rhetoric “the worst kinds of slander against law enforcement,” and added, “the DA routinely calls police and prosecutors corrupt and racist, even ‘war criminals’ that he compares to Nazis.”

Hmmm. Come to think of it, the poem written on the Statue of Liberty does not apply to Europeans no more. Remember when the unhinged mental midgets went stark raving mad when Trump said we should have more merit based educated immigrants like Norwegians welcomed to our country? Oh boy, the mental midgets became unglued on these boards. They blew their tops. No Europeans! Racism! No Y-Ts.
Well, since only about 1,000 Norwegians immigrate here a year lately, it seems that we have shut them off. In fact, if one is from Eastern Europe OR Europe in general, you get put at the back of the line. Way back in the line and only a trickle are allowed in. The Dems really really hate Western Civilization to the max, more so with each passing day.
*Note: Think it is best to put aside the issue if Scandinavia or Greece are considered “European” for this discussion. No Europeans in 2019! They be bad people and don’t share our values.
In fact, one could argue that Norwegians and other groups from Europe are not welcome here anymore. No way, Jose.

“The native New Yorker of Portuguese Sephardic Jewish descent penned the sonnet for an auction raising funds for Lady Liberty’s pedestal and her words are enshrined on a plaque. Lazarus was well-known for her work with Eastern European Jewish refugees, addressing racism and anti-Semitism.
Ms. Lazarus, a wealthy fourth-generation American, devoted herself to settling THESE immigrants in New York,
Emma Lazarus was born in New York City, July 22, 1849 into a large Sephardic Jewish family. She was the fourth of seven children of Moses Lazarus, a wealthy Jewish merchant and sugar refiner, and Esther Nathan. One of her great-grandfathers on the Lazarus side was from Germany (Holy Crap!), the rest of her Lazarus and Nathan ancestors were originally from Portugal and resident in New York long before the American Revolution, being among the original twenty-three Portuguese Jews who arrived in New Amsterdam fleeing the Inquisition from their settlement of Recife, Brazil. Lazarus’s great-great-grandmother on her mother’s side, Grace Seixas Nathan (born in New York in 1752) was also a poet. Lazarus was related through her mother to Benjamin N. Cardozo, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. Her siblings included sisters Josephine, Sarah, Mary, Emma, Agnes and Annie, and a brother, Frank.
Privately educated by tutors from an early age, she studied American and British literature as well as several languages, including German, French, and Italian. She was attracted in youth to poetry, writing her first lyrics when eleven years old. OMG, she read Western Civ!
No Europeans! They be the oppressors, OMG!!

Well, I figured by now some old Hippy would mention that 50 years ago today was the first day of the Woodstock Music Festival. But, noooo. Now, I would be the first to say that not all of that crowd went on the be worthless drags on society. Many went on to be great upstanding citizens and contributed to society in innumerable ways. Others never put down that bong and are still sucking on it to this hour. With the intro out of the way..
A point to intersectionality: The Woodstock generation at that time AND the conservatives and inalienable rights crowd today, as back then, fiercely and passionately strongly believed in individual rights and individualism. Do you own thing. Don’t tread on me. A healthy skepticism of government and for good reason. “The man will come and take you away.” Guess the big 50 year anniversary music fest petered out.

Answer –
“That’s the type of question that might have been asked in committee hearings when the bill was considered, except that there were no committee hearings and there was no bill, not in the regular legislative process. Instead, this law was enacted as a budget trailer bill.”
So much for the democratic process.

PaulE 228pm – Paul, since AOC has literally no or negligible financial support from her constituents, and so few people voted her into office, and that her overwhelming support has come from some outside organizations, therefore is it reasonable to think that she is a ‘political machine’ candidate funded and handled by like-minded ultra-left organizations??
I respond:
What else is new? Are you shocked that support for elected officials comes from “outside organizations”? How is that different than the NRA and the Koch brothers, for example, who dump millions into political campaigns and expect results. Do you propose that AOC should be removed from office by some means other than the ballot box?

Acquiring Greenland – what a great idea. If the deal requires Denmark to remain joint owner, that’s also great. The main proviso should be that Denmark gets to benefit from developing the island’s resources, but has only an advisory capacity in determining how/when those resources are developed. Right now it is a major piece of Earth’s fallow real estate. Humans should do something with it besides measuring the ebb and flow of its glaciers for political purposes.

You already said you thought he was mentally ill and that that was a danger to the nation and the planet.

Re: the sonnet,
Didn’t want to post this a couple of days or so ago. I decided to wait til Steve and Punchy had a meltdown and let them spin like a top first. I decided correctly.
“This image of a destitute newcomer may seem in conflict with Cuccinelli’s self-sufficient immigrant. Is there a discrepancy in America’s immigration ethos? Are Lady Liberty’s words a reachable reality or a utopia? The answer typically depends on which side of the aisle you stand.
“The first ideal says it is the government’s humanitarian duty to welcome all poor seeking refuge in the United States. All who come to our borders deserve to be wrapped with taxpayer-funded welfare blankets, no matter how bankrupt our systems are. These ideals are espoused by the left.
“The second ideal is rooted in right-wing ideals of small government. It is not the government’s job to provide housing vouchers and Medicaid for everyone. The government’s first priority is to American citizens, and immigration policies and border controls are for our protection. We welcome immigrants here seeking the freedom that requires them to govern and provide for themselves.
“One reporter asked in the press conference, “Why shouldn’t the Latino community feel targeted by this?”
“This is 140-year-old legal structure,” Cuccinelli said. “We’re dealing with the most recent iteration of it, but this is not new… There’s no reason for any particular group to feel like this is targeting them.”
“America cannot save the world from all suffering. Americans cannot afford to support welfare for any person in the world who gets here and then demands it. That does not change the spirit of our immigration laws that welcomes those made poor and needy by totalitarian governments that take wealth from some and redistribute it to others in currently politically favored groups.
“We have a long history of being one of the most welcoming nations in the world on a lot of bases, whether you be an asylee, whether you be coming here to join your family, or immigrating yourself,” Cuccinelli said. “I do not think by any means, we’re ready to take anything off the Statue of Liberty.”

“Making the most lethal firearms easier to obtain than a drink at a bar, well, that’s what’s crazy.”
Bars are licensed money making operations. They know they have to toe the line with the law or have their license revoked. People selling guns out of the trunk of their car could care less. Technically, he is correct, but for the wrong reason. It’s not because of a lack of laws but because some folks don’t obey the law.
Straight from a bullshitter – “A right doesn’t mean license for anyone for any reason to buy up any firearm and as many as a heart could possibly desire.”
The man should be fired from the office of any newspaper for crap like this.
Rogers is taking the 1st A to cover his ass for a straight out lie. What he is implying is a lie and he knows it.
“We don’t need to rip up the Constitution, though we could apply a more intelligent interpretation of the 2nd Amendment than we have in our modern era, inflamed by the National Rifle Association’s grip on Republican politicians and judges, just a fact.”
Besides the fact that the above sentence would get an F in any English class, I would love to hear this chicken shit little half wit explain just why we should start to ‘reinterpret’ the Bill Of Rights.
“Guns that spray bullets enough to kill a dozen people in seconds are not needed for sport or the personal protection they presume to provide.”
The 2nd A is not about ‘sport’ but Rogers is on a roll and thinks he can BS his audience. As far as personal protection, how in the world does this man know all the instances of ‘personal protection’ that can occur? How many KKK need to be gunned down by a frightened African American protecting his family? Rogers dismisses this as “not needed”.
Well. OK, then.
It gets even worse – “A permit similar to a driving license, with similar conditions, only makes sense.”
So – after murdering your mother and stealing her gun, Rogers suggests that it would be a good idea to stop by and get a permit before murdering some school children.
One has to wonder at the mind of such a person writing this stuff.
“The data is there. The models, too. The path is reasonably clear.”
Ah, I see – the ‘path’ is reasonably clear.
Get a license – THEN go and murder folks.
Gotcha.

Look at his photo. He appears to be a person trying to remember his own name.

The problem with a godless political party is it does not believe in a power greater than itself.
Daily Quotes. The first one rang especially true this happy evening.
“One of the most dishonest little tricks the media pulls is when they ask someone a weird and irrelevant question, get an answer, and then report the answer as if it was a point made entirely unprompted.” —Matt Walsh
For the record: “There’s no doubt that President Trump is not a racist. The facts are very simple that the same folks that voted for me voted for President Trump because President Trump made promises to the voters and he’s keeping the promises. … The more you use the concept of racism, the more we grow ‘ism fatigue’ in this country, and that is a terrible place for us to be. And so the greatest threat by overusing racism is that when there is an actual challenge, you cried wolf in the wilderness one time too many.” —Sen. Tim Scott
Braying Jenny: “I think we should ban assault weapons as well as large magazines, and as part of passing that ban do a buyback program across the country so that those who own them can be compensated for their money that they spent. … You don’t want people to retain them because if you make them illegal, you don’t want to grandfather in all the assault weapons that are all across America. … If you are arrested for using an assault weapon, you’re going to have an aggravated felony [charge].” —Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand
Non sequitur: “[Our] society … has surrendered basic freedoms. Freedom from violence. Freedom from gunfire. Freedom to live without this kind of constant cortisol in the back of your brain being released that undermines our quality of life. We are losing our well-being as a nation because so many of these guns now are on our streets, so easily gotten by people who intend to do massive amounts of harm.” —Sen. Cory Booker (*The Second Amendment is the palladium of liberties.)
Never let a crisis go to waste: “Our officers deserve to be protected and they don’t deserve to be shot at by a guy for hours with an unlimited supply of weapons and an unlimited supply of bullets. It’s disgusting and we have to do something about it.” —Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney
Braying Jackass: “We all want to invest in building our democracy and saving it from any enemies, foreign and domestic. We’ve sent our legislation to the Senate. Moscow Mitch says that he is the Grim Reaper. Imagine describing yourself as the Grim Reaper, that he’s going to bury all this legislation.” —House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. [Whoa.Bill sez correction! It’s not Moscow Mitch, it’s Moscow Murderer Mitch to you, Botox Queen.]
What could possibly go wrong? “I would be honored to be considered [as a veep] by any nominee.” —Stacey Abrams

“do a buyback program”
Uh – how can the govt ‘buy back’ what they never owned in the first place?
Sounds like Planned Parenthood talking about ‘reproductive’ rights.
Please explain what is ‘reproductive’ about an abortion.

From the New York Times. Trump is in uncharted territory.
“There are not many traditions of decorum that President Trump has not trampled on since entering the White House. But to put at risk, so cynically, America’s special relationship with Israel solely to titillate the bigots in his base, to lean so crassly on a foreign leader to punish his own political adversaries, to demonstrate so foul a lack of respect for the most elemental democratic principles, is new territory even for him.”

Yes or No Punchy?
Should a man who even now has to be so delicately managed by his campaign due to his failing mental health continue to pursue the presidency?
Yes or No?
