Guess the one who helped destroy young minds was too busy taking pictures of the pony rides at the fair to notice that we have been hollering for months and years that Leftinista policies are carving out the middle class. CA is a prime example of that. Regulation is a prime example of that has we have a whole class of renters that can’t afford the rent or buy a home. Education is a prime example of that as we have a whole generation of people who got worthless degrees with high debt…which of course means they can’t afford to buy a home and have no skills.

“The newly finalized rule about immigrant welfare use is 837 pages long, but it boils down to two things: Foreigners who can’t pay their bills shouldn’t be allowed to move here, and “welfare” doesn’t just mean cash benefits.
“As to the first: The first comprehensive immigration law at the federal level was the 1882 Immigration Act, which, among other things, excluded anyone who was “unable to take care of himself or herself without becoming a public charge.” That principle — the “public-charge doctrine,” as it’s called — has been included in all subsequent immigration legislation, including the 1996 immigration and welfare-reform laws.
“But the exclusion of “public charges” didn’t start in the 19th century, but well before that, when immigration law was handled by the states. In fact, preventing the immigration of people who couldn’t support themselves was the subject of the very first immigration law ever passed in the colonies, in Massachusetts Bay in 1645. It’s not too much to say that the public-charge doctrine is the founding principle of American immigration policy. So those arguing for the admission of foreigners (other than refugees) who can’t earn enough to feed their own children without taxpayer subsidies are arguing for a radical break with 400 years of practice.
“The second point involves a more recent issue. In 1996 Congress passed welfare-reform and immigration laws that sought to put more teeth in the existing public-charge rules. These measures had no lasting impact on the share of immigrants using welfare; within five years, the rate of immigration welfare use was right back where it had been before the changes. Today, some 63 percent of households headed by non-citizens use at least one welfare program, including an astonishing 80 percent of non-citizen households with children.
“But a third reason may have been the Clinton administration’s dishonest definition of welfare. In order to minimize the impact of the Republican Congress’s 1996 changes, the Clinton administration issued guidance that barred consideration of anything other than cash benefits for purposes of determining self-sufficiency. In other words, an immigrant using food stamps, Medicaid, free school lunch, and public housing — but not cash benefits such as TANF or SSI — was to be considered self-supporting, and his welfare use would not affect his future green-card and visa applications.

As Haskins reveals, if the federal government is going to fully fund Medicare for All, the middle class and wealthy would likely need to bear nearly all of the increased tax burden required to cover its costs. In many cases, tax burdens would double, and for tens of millions of families, the increased taxes would far outweigh the financial benefits gained by not needing to pay for health insurance premiums and out-of-pocket costs.
For example, in 2022, Haskins estimates Americans earning $50,000–$74,999 would likely need to pay on average $7,773 to $9,171 more in new taxes every year. Those earning $75,000–$100,000 would likely pay an astounding $12,915–$14,880 in increased federal taxes. That means Bernie’s plan would financially decimate many in the middle class.

A survey conducted by academics at Iowa State University of farmers in Iowa, Illinois and Minnesota found that 57 percent somewhat or strongly support tariffs on Chinese goods, according to NBC News. Fourteen percent were neutral. Just 30 percent somewhat or strongly oppose the tariffs.
The very high level of support for the tariffs is all the more striking because it is selflessly patriotic. Seventy-six percent of those surveyed say farmers will bear the brunt of the trade war. Just 14 percent say they will be better off because of the trade fight.
U.S. agriculture exports to China plummeted from $19.5 billion in 2017 to just $9.2 billion in 2018. But overall farm exports rose slightly, suggesting that other countries have taken to buying products that China is avoiding.

Two prison guards have been suspended and a warden temporarily reassigned at the New York City jail where Jeffrey Epstein died of suspected suicide.
It comes after the FBI opened an investigation into the death of Epstein, who was facing prosecution for sex trafficking when he was found dead.

“We’re not actually joking,” the protester said before shouting the location of where Bulfin lives. “John Bulfin you go to [bleeped out], you go to church on [bleeped out], you live on [bleeped out the] road. We are not joking.”
The threats came just a day before gunmen allegedly fired shots into local ICE offices and GEO Group offices in San Antonio, Texas in what the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is describing as a “targeted attack.”
